I think he's had quite enough fun with adoptions.

Another junkbox musical. Wonderful

Oh, shit! I didn't read the article first. I had no idea they were going to simply plug in old tunes. THAT is a terrible idea. The screenplay is ripe with material on which to base an original score.
BIG DEAL didn't work with old 20s and 30s tunes plugged in. This one probably won't work either. Too bad!

Patti L in the Dianne W role!
|by Anonymous||reply 5||02/23/2012|
It should be Christine Ebersole.

"Patti L in the Dianne W role!"
Call me crazy but I'd prefer an actress who's the age Dianne was when she made the movie almost twenty years ago.
Rather than an actress who is the age Dianne is now.

Jennifer Tilly in the Jennifer Tilly role.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||02/23/2012|
Movie is great, hopefully this will be good. DON'T SPEAK!!
|by Anonymous||reply 9||02/23/2012|
Actually I was kidding about Patti. I think Christine is a great choice.

"Bullets Over Broadway" is the funniest movie ever, well, except for sometimes in mind it ties with "Best in Show."
Love Jennifer Tilly in 'Bullets' and Jennifer Coolidge in 'Best.'

Patti LuPone for the part of the rehearsal table!

Wiest will be either Chenoweth or Mullaly. Broadway is not that imaginative and wants big names.
No one beyond Maplewood, NJ knows Ebersole.

Will it be one composer's catalogue?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/23/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/24/2012|
The idea already feels old and predictable. No surprises. Just Netflix the film and be happy with the memories.

Bumping this thread because the show is opening in 2014 with Susan Stroman directing.

R5 R13 R7 It won't be Patti. She auditioned and Woody rejected her.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/20/2013|
Jennifer Tilly in the Dianne Wiest role!
It's either going to be Ivy Lynn or Karen Cartwright for Tilly's movie role.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||06/20/2013|
Great, I love that movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||06/20/2013|
Omg, I love the movie. This is great news.
"Bullets Over Broadway" and "Best In Show" are the two funniest movies ever.

Will Woody be playing clarinet in the orchestra pit?
|by Anonymous||reply 24||06/21/2013|
Woody didn't like me.

People dont really audition for his movies. From what I have read he will ask someone if they are interested in being in his film, they almost always say yes, and he just gives them the script and tells them when to show up. However, many people approach him and ask him if they can be in something. I'm pretty sure he turns more down than he accepts. I can totally see LuPone approaching him and asking that. And I can also see him saying, "oh sure, that would be great" and then he never called her.

Zach Braff??? WTF?
|by Anonymous||reply 27||06/27/2013|
There isn't a single reason to sing in this story. Dumb idea.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||06/27/2013|
Will it star Glutton Foster?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||06/27/2013|
Hope Woody gets Diane Keaton to return to Broadway for the Weist role. She'll act younger.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||06/27/2013|
It's actually one of the less dumb ideas for a film/Broadway adaptation.
The action, the characters and the era are perfect for a new musical. If it avoids Chicago.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||06/28/2013|
So who here has seen it?
|by Anonymous||reply 32||04/14/2014|
"According to an Instagram from Heléne Yorke, who plays Olive, the show is making a minor change for its matinee audiences. In order to make the show more appropriate for student groups, the work 'f*ck' will be removed from Wednesday matinee performances."
I wonder if they'll also be removing the gag about Helene's character picking coins off the bar with her cooch.

Will he be fucking an underage child for the 11 o'clock number?
|by Anonymous||reply 34||04/17/2014|
What about Dylan's truth? (and Ronan's ratings?)
|by Anonymous||reply 35||04/17/2014|
r35, so THAT's why "Yes, We Have No Bananas" stayed in the show! Woody and Susan kept taking it out but Mia and Ronan kept sneaking it back in again!
