Madonna: 'My fans should work all year to come and see me play live'

Madonna has shrugged off complaints that her live shows are too expensive and told her fans to "work all year" so they can spend their money on gig tickets.

The singer is expected to tour this year in support of her new album 'MDNA', which is released on March 26, but told Newsweek that people should be prepared to save their cash and pay top prices if they wanted to see her in concert.

She said: Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 (£190) on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together and come to my show. I'm worth it.

Madonna will debut her new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin' on American Idol this evening (February 2). The track features both MIA and [a]Nicki Minaj, who will join Madonna for her halftime show at this year's Super Bowl this weekend (February 5).

'MDNA' will be the pop icon's 12th studio album and is the follow-up to her 2008 effort 'Hard Candy'. She has faced criticism from anti-drugs campaigners for choosing an "ill-advised" title.

by Anonymousreply 18411/20/2012

Sorry fans, but the haters are right. This one is pretty hard to swallow.

by Anonymousreply 302/02/2012

This is how she gets the Top Grossing Tour by a female artist everytime she goes out on the road.

by Anonymousreply 402/02/2012

Can I trade in some Oxycontin at the box office?

by Anonymousreply 502/02/2012

She clearly knows her fans are all 40-somethings with no dependants (and no taste) who get few kicks in life except for when they save up to see their idol in the flesh (well, fleshlike plastic).

by Anonymousreply 602/02/2012

I've seen the concerts on DVD. Just her strutting around in high heels and singing her oldies.

But I guess she's one of the few I'd pay to see in concert (Rolling Stones, etc.). Even just to see a really rich person upclose.

by Anonymousreply 802/02/2012

Yet football fans pay thousands of dollars & get a Madonna concert for free.

600 bucks for a headdress & not a soul will see it.

by Anonymousreply 902/02/2012

Wow, that was really rude and disrespectful. Not that I'd expect anything less from Madge.

by Anonymousreply 1002/02/2012

She should be campaigning for Romney.

by Anonymousreply 1302/02/2012

[quote]She should be campaigning for Romney.

She's always struck me as a secret Republican since she's so fucking greedy like one and just pretends to be a Democrat to look "hip".

by Anonymousreply 1402/02/2012

Let them eat cak!

by Anonymousreply 1502/02/2012

It was fun seeing her first tour for $12!

She sang "Into the Groove" "The Gambler" AND "Burning Up" !!!

The 80s could be fun and reasonable!!!

by Anonymousreply 1702/02/2012

She does it to get a reaction, and it WORKS!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 1802/02/2012

[quote]She does it to get a reaction, and it WORKS!!!!!

Not a good reaction. She's losing more and more of whatever few fans she had left with this asshole attitude that keeps getting worse.

by Anonymousreply 2002/02/2012

I would rather stick needles in my eyes. I will never understand the superstar icon status of this marginally talented and unlikeable woman.

by Anonymousreply 2102/02/2012

I heard on the radio that she was being a miserable bitch during the rehearsals for the halftime show.

by Anonymousreply 2202/02/2012

MadonnaLounge: get your fix of Madonna gossip, Madonna news, and pointless Madonna bitchery.

by Anonymousreply 2402/02/2012

You don't need to understand it.Just live with it.

by Anonymousreply 2502/03/2012

Nobody cares about Syria.

by Anonymousreply 2602/03/2012

She's the Mitt Romney of pop singers.

In every conceivable way.

by Anonymousreply 2702/03/2012

Has she considered running for vice president?

by Anonymousreply 2802/03/2012

It's embarrassing. I feel embarrassed for her. Someone needs to start an "Occupy Madonna" movement. Take over the stage and cover it with tents and signs. Sing her songs better than she does. Then throw her into the musician's pit, head first. That's a movement we can all get behind!

by Anonymousreply 2902/03/2012

Did she really say that? If she did than WOW! She has nerve to show disrespect for her fans.

by Anonymousreply 3002/03/2012

Ya know, I'm getting pretty sick of all the Madonna hate on DL. Enough already. What the FUCK is wrong with you people. The woman has entertained us for 30 years and all you people do is try to invent new ways to cut her down. So she's not perfect. Well who the FUCK here is?? Ya know, since day one critics have tried and tried to minimize her and guess what she'S still here, doing it better than anyone else. As someone once said, "We're here for a good time not a long time, so have a good time..." So if you can't enjoy what she has to offer for wahtever mental defect you may have, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

by Anonymousreply 3102/03/2012

r19 PSYCHOPATH

by Anonymousreply 3202/03/2012

I used to say I admired her for embracing her inner (and outer) bitch, but now I think she's just an idiot. She hasn't grown as a person since she first became famous, has she? That was over 30 YEARS AGO. Can any of us say we've stayed so willfully ignorant for so long?

by Anonymousreply 3402/03/2012

What a miserable cunt! People don't have any real financial problems anymore except having to work "all year" to afford to see her old, shriveled, talentless self.

She's revolting.

by Anonymousreply 3502/03/2012

I love you r7:)

[quote]Let them eat cak!

More like "Let them eat caca".

by Anonymousreply 3602/03/2012

See, she would have looked so good had she done a Garth Brooks and insisted on having at least some affordable tickets for fans. And said something humble and gracious, like, "I know some fans may not be able to afford $300 for a ticket and they shouldn't have to scrimp and save just to see my concert. That's why I insisted on having $50 tickets in every section and why I wont put up with scalping. But those fans who can afford the $300 tickets can pay for special access" or something like that.

This makes her sound like a bitch. I bet her album flops and I bet she sounds like shit.

** This is off-topic but will someone start a thread for me titled: "Noisy, uncooperative neighbors: Tell your horror stories and share your wisdom."

Our neighbor next door has a fish tank that is driving us insane. We have to wear earplugs in the house and are seriously talking about moving because it has become so disruptive to our lives. I just want to commiserate and maybe get some tips.

TIA!

by Anonymousreply 3702/03/2012

Save your pennies my ass. Fuck you bitch. Like everyone is dirt poor and has to save to see your arrogant old ass. I used to like madonna but she really has become a royal cunt. She gets worse everyday that goes by. Hope the album flops.

by Anonymousreply 3802/03/2012

My best friend lives in indianapolis. He said that she arrived there this week to rehearse for super bowl. She went to this hotel to stay. They called her a whore and told her she couldnt stay there and she stormed off! hahahahaha

by Anonymousreply 3902/03/2012

R31 Its called having some respect for your fans. You know the ones who made you! And not talking down on them by telling them to work all year just to hand her a chunk of their money. R37 said it best. You need to read that post you stupid twat. How much money does this bitch need?! Practice a little humility for fucking once!

by Anonymousreply 4002/03/2012

I wouldn't walk across the street to see this old washed up cunt, let alone pay $300 to see her. SHE should be the one paying people to see her play live considering she's fucking dispicable.

by Anonymousreply 4102/03/2012

And the Madonna stans will still find a way to defend this useless gash.

by Anonymousreply 4202/03/2012

R37 - try here...

by Anonymousreply 4302/03/2012

Madonna, I love you so much. Without you and Britney, I'd be fucking DEAD.

by Anonymousreply 4402/03/2012

If we don't go, we can save even more pennies! Good idea, Madonna!

by Anonymousreply 4502/03/2012

Don't blame the eldergays. I've always fuckin' hated her!

by Anonymousreply 4602/03/2012

It would've been better if she'd said, "You don't come see my fuckin' movies, now you're gonna pay through the nose to see my concert!"

by Anonymousreply 4702/03/2012

Done, Done,Done with her. Last time I paid to see her, was 'Blonde Ambition' Tour in what , '90...'91 ? She can live off that. Fucking C_ _ t.

by Anonymousreply 4802/03/2012

You know, I always liked Madonna. I put up with her ridiculous faux accent and obnoxious shit but this statement is the proverbial straw.

That single is total shit also.

Over you Madge.

by Anonymousreply 4902/03/2012

Britney, another talentless whore.

May I introduce you to some REAL music r44?

by Anonymousreply 5002/03/2012

She hasn't been fun since the 80s. Time to let this one out to pasture.

by Anonymousreply 5102/03/2012

I love it! I have enough money to go to multiple shows...and without you poor queens taking up those valuable seats...I'll just get a better view.

Thanks!

by Anonymousreply 5202/03/2012

"The woman has entertained us for 30 years and all you people do is try to invent new ways to cut her down."

"US?" What's this "us" shit? You don't speak for the masses and you sure as hell don't speak for me. I've never been "entertained" by her in my entire life. I suppose you also think she should be treated with reverence and respect because of "all she's done for us!"

by Anonymousreply 5302/03/2012

She's right. They should fly to Tel Aviv, to see her live.

by Anonymousreply 5402/03/2012

I'm happy to say she has never gotten any money out of me. Even when she was popular. I found her boring and predictable.

by Anonymousreply 5502/03/2012

Jesus fucking christ! All I can picture is a bunch of fat, sweaty turds sitting in their moist panties typing away their hate for a woman who doesn't give a fuck about you haters.

And what did she say actually that was so hard to comprehend? People who like her music may spend $$ on shoes or a handbag. She said, save the $$ and come to my spectacle.

Why would she charge less when she can command this amount? She's not a charity.

If you don't like her, move on. But the anger is just baffling to me.

CHANGE THE CHANNEL. Don't watch her or listen to her music.

But, no matter how many times you say it or write it, the truth is the truth: she remains a force to be reckoned with. She remains a living legend. An icon. And her music remains at the top of the charts. In all categories. Including the USA. The truth is that younger entertainers ask HER to collaborate.

Go to Guinness Book of World Records. She's there, and not just for tours. For single and album sales in the 2000s. Hardly over.

by Anonymousreply 5602/03/2012

You sound angry r56

by Anonymousreply 5702/03/2012

r57, it's not anger, it's confusion that is frustrating.

I just don't get the overloaded hate for this woman just on this site, it seems.

It has to be her brother or Elton John or his husband. I mean, NO ONE can spout such vitriol for someone who hasn't offended him PERSONALLY.

by Anonymousreply 5802/03/2012

We're on Grandmadonna overload today, I see….

by Anonymousreply 6002/03/2012

"I just don't get the overloaded hate for this woman just on this site, it seems"

It's just you then - she may be talented, but as a human being, she is HORRIBLE...

by Anonymousreply 6102/03/2012

by Anonymousreply 6202/03/2012

This guy appear live for free:

by Anonymousreply 6302/03/2012

It seems to be a contest between Demi and Madonna, lately, re: which middle-aged woman is determined to age the least gracefully.

Demi leapt out in front last week, but Madonna is tenaciously gaining from behind.

by Anonymousreply 6402/03/2012

I heard that Madge is going to top Janet's wardrobe malfunction by showing her beef curtains.

by Anonymousreply 6502/03/2012

[quote] "I just don't get the overloaded hate for this woman just on this site, it seems"

I don't hate her, but I don't get the vast fangurl groundswell of support - that a bunch of bitches stand and clap every time this whore scratches her ass.

SHE'S NOT THAT INTERESTING.

by Anonymousreply 6602/03/2012

[R65] At this age, that would be some tired venison or some seriously dry beef jerky.

by Anonymousreply 6702/03/2012

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE SHIT IN MY MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 6802/03/2012

[quote]She does it to get a reaction, and it WORKS!!!!!

Exactly, R18.

This is classic Madonna schtick - say something or do something outrageous to piss everybody off and your name shows up in all the papers. It's how she's managed her career. If you've got no real talent then shock everyone into paying attention to you.

Publicity at all costs. Negative attention is better than no attention at all.

Lindsay, Britney, Paris, et al learned this shit at Madonna's tit when they were still little girls.

Madonna is the queen of the Jersey Shorification of America. And she's proud of it.

by Anonymousreply 6902/03/2012

"Jesus fucking christ! All I can picture is a bunch of fat, sweaty turds sitting in their moist panties typing away their hate for a woman who doesn't give a fuck about you haters."

"But, no matter how many times you say it or write it, the truth is the truth: she remains a force to be reckoned with. She remains a living legend. An icon."

Oh shut the fuck UP, you insane fangurl cunt! The "truth" is that ou are beyond pathetic. I bet you're saving all your "pennies" in order to worship at the altar of that old whore. And you can be sure she doesn't "give a fuck" about you, either. Oh, she wants you to save your pennies so you can buy a ticket to her show so she can get even richer, but take it from me she doesn't care whether you live or die. And neither does anybody else, probably.

by Anonymousreply 7002/03/2012

Do you really think Elton John and Madonna are feuding? Please. It's just one old whore helping another old whore to sell some tickets by creating some fictional drama.

by Anonymousreply 7102/03/2012

I remember one tour she did in the summer, and she insisted that the arena management turn off the air conditioner because it affected her throat. So these queens paid top dollar to sit there and sweat, waiting for Madge to show up. And then she was about 45 minutes late too. Sorry, who needs that old nasty bag.

by Anonymousreply 7202/03/2012

I'm proud to say that in the last 30 years Madonna hasn't gotten 88 cents off of me. No matter what she says.

by Anonymousreply 7302/03/2012

[R70] Has serious ass rot I can smell it from here.

by Anonymousreply 7402/03/2012

Why shouldn't she charge top dollar? Look at what the Rolling Stones charge. She will be too old to be twirling onstage soon enough.

by Anonymousreply 7502/03/2012

[quote] She remains a living legend. An icon.

This sounds like Janbot.

by Anonymousreply 7802/03/2012

I notice in her video she has her arms and hands covered up in black slinky wear of some kind. Smart move, that's the one part of her that looks its age or even worse.

Wonder if she'll do that every night of the tour.

by Anonymousreply 7902/03/2012

Agreed, [R78].

[R74] A douche would work wonders, darling.

by Anonymousreply 8002/03/2012

Jesus fucking christ! All I can picture is a bunch of fat, sweaty turds sitting in their moist panties typing away their hate for a woman who doesn't give a fuck about you haters.

And she really care about you, you psycho, right?

by Anonymousreply 8102/03/2012

Yes, it is Madonna's world and we are all just lucky enough to be living in it. Serfs r us.

by Anonymousreply 8202/03/2012

It's funny how people come on a self-described "bitchy gay gossip site", then just cannot understand why we're bitchy towards Madonna. It's really hilarious.

Fanboys, gather around while I tell you a tale of woe. You see, there was once this girl who was willing to do anything...and I do mean ANYTHING ;)...to become a big pop star. In the beginning she was fun, particularly since she knew she was a white trash wannabe and made no bones about it. It was part of her appeal. But somewhere along the road, she became terribly lost. She started believing her own hype, dumped all her old (gay) friends for Gwinnie and Stella, and decided she was an English lady of the manor. And more and more she started sounding like a stinky old Republican dowager, while she paraded around with her teenage boyfriends and her teenage daughter. Oh, and did I mention that she joined a cult? So the girl who was once loved because she was willing to writhe around like a porn star while wearing a cheesy wedding dress gave way, ultimately, to an insufferable narcissistic bore who had no sense of perspective at all.

Now sleep tight little ones. Your teddy bear will protect you from the horrible boogeyman known as the MADONNA.

by Anonymousreply 8302/03/2012

Can you imagine her actually running the world? She'd make Margaret Thatcher look like a liberal. And a female.

by Anonymousreply 8402/03/2012

Jesus fucking Christ! All I can picture is a bunch of unemployed, stupid, silly queens sitting in a pile of their own waste and the stench of unwashed dishes, unwashed laundry and three week old Boone's Farm bottles, typing away their undying, illogical love for a woman who doesn't give a fuck about her fans…

….and who wants you to work for months at your part time job barbacking/dishwashing at IHOP/giving handjobs in the parking lot so you can come see her!

by Anonymousreply 8502/03/2012

Thanks, Eldergay. That pretty much says it all.

by Anonymousreply 8602/03/2012

DL appears to be taken over by Madonna threads. This has got to be attributable to just one or two fanatical DL members, or the site has been invaded by a Madonna PR flunkie who is trying to raise hype in anticipation of the Super Bowl.

by Anonymousreply 8702/03/2012

I wouldn't piss on this miserable gash if she lay burning on the side of the road. I would, however, gladly shit down her throat!

by Anonymousreply 8802/03/2012

You know, if we were to have a revolution in the next couple of days, this would've been Madonna's "Let them eat cake" moment.

She could've been gracious and said something like "I appreciate that my fans work hard all year long to come and see me live." But Madonna is not familiar with graciousness, and it is clear that she believes she is better than the rest of us.

And this statement comes from a woman who lucked into her career by sleeping with the right producers, who stole most of her material, and who was also lucky enough to have some incredible management/handlers. What's even more amazing is that the woman can't sing. Her success was also helped along by the fact that the American public is really crass and stupid.

by Anonymousreply 8902/03/2012

I am flabbergasted by the ABOMINABLE things you people are writing about her.

Your abuse is not simply hateful, it's pornographic in it's terminology.

You have mother issues, you have women issues. You have fucking issues.

You all WANT to BE Madonna, to have had her track record, to have caused as much sensation, titillation, excitement and provocation. You can NEVER BE her. The fucking joke is on you.

You flock to Gaga because she at least is unattractive and garish, so you can allow her the glory.

by Anonymousreply 9002/03/2012

R89, Well, you've pretty much nailed it. Kudos. Though I fear for your safety, given the looney-tunes Madonna "fans" that are afoot.

by Anonymousreply 9102/03/2012

[quote] You all WANT to BE Madonna, to have had her track record, to have caused as much sensation, titillation, excitement and provocation. You can NEVER BE her. The fucking joke is on you.

You have severe delusions and deep mental illness.

Many of us don't give a fuck. We didn't give a fuck 30 years ago, or 20, or 15, or 10, or 5. We don't give a fuck now.

We will not, at any time in the future, give a fuck.

The fact that you think Madonna and Gaga are the be-all, end-all summary in artistic offerings shows that you have hideously cheap, suburban, trashy taste. You trying to speak to the artistic value of these bitches makes about as much sense as you telling us Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is the height of all cuisine.

by Anonymousreply 9202/03/2012

r92, you are a pretentious little bitch! Adore Madonna, but I also would lick the pavement that Kate Bush or Siouxsie Sioux walk on. So feck off!!

by Anonymousreply 9302/03/2012

R90/93 is either the best DL parody-poster ever, or he needs to be locked up in the looney bin immediately. I'm guessing it's the former (God help us otherwise!)

by Anonymousreply 9402/03/2012

[R93] Then all I can say is….

Oh, oh - oh your city lies in dust….my friend!

by Anonymousreply 9502/03/2012

Madonna is right. She is still the reigning queen. And her cuntiness is so appreciated right now. Sick of Lada Gaga who, apparently, is now CAUSING young gay teens to kill themselves. STOP it, anteater face.

by Anonymousreply 9602/03/2012

I've tolerated the appalling dung flung at Madonna and Britney for years here, yet I continue to post because for the most part I think there are brilliant minds at work here.

I am resolved to just put up with the hatred two of my most important pop deities get from people who want to not only go about destroying their credibility as human beings but every aspect of their fans psyches as well.

That does not mean I won't reply to this absolute TORRENT of abuse in the most eloquent way possible. I do not want to lose control like you guys because if I really gave into vitriol, I would turn into the very pitiful creatures I see on the other side of my screen.

Now, let me enjoy this glorious confection and ALLOW FOR IT. I am resolved to have you guys tolerate Madonna and Britney fans here.

by Anonymousreply 9702/03/2012

[quote] two of my most important pop deities

It's unspeakably sad that people worship pop whores. I weep for the future.

by Anonymousreply 9802/03/2012

I don't worship them outside of the music. I worship the imagery and what it implies to me - the roles they play in my imagination.

I don't expect you to understand r98 but for god's sake, TOLERATE ME.

by Anonymousreply 9902/03/2012

r95 - that is her soulful triumph as much as Like a Prayer is Madonna's, The Sensual World is Kate's and Everytime is Britney's.

by Anonymousreply 10002/03/2012

I love how nakedly honest she is about her greed.

She has for 25 years now insisted she's not at all the Material Girl she proclaimed herself to be in the early 80s, but OF COURSE she still is, and always has been and always will be. Who really cares in the end about the Kabbalah and spiritulaity and self-enlightenment when you can demand $300 a head from the peasantry and get it?

by Anonymousreply 10102/03/2012

You mis-read her, r101. Madonna NEEDS money and income to enhance her career - she just doesn't make it her god.

by Anonymousreply 10202/03/2012

I just don't understand all of this "diva love"--maybe 'cuz I'm just a "flyover bear". Madonna, Lady CaCa, Beyonce....I just don't get it. I'm more into rock / blues / outlaw country, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay $300.00 to see ZZ Top, Metallica or any of my other favorites!

by Anonymousreply 10302/03/2012

I agree R103, Vadge is a cunt and the fact that LGBT people worship her and she can put out pure crap every few years and people buy it up is depressing.

by Anonymousreply 10402/03/2012

Flyover bears are so clueless.

by Anonymousreply 10502/03/2012

Well I'm a NYer who agrees with Flyover Bear 100%.

This woman is a clown and a shit and she needs to GO AWAY.

by Anonymousreply 10602/03/2012

I think r69 has it right. Her modus operandi has always been to be provocative, in any manner possible; it's what her success has been built on at least as much as any of the music she's ever recorded. She clearly decided long ago that the publicity value of her calculated acts of provocation (such as this statement) outweighed the anger of anyone who would be turned off by them.

Look at how many threads she regularly draws on DL, filled with people who find her relevant enough to take the time to write posts (sometimes long posts) about how much they hate her!

by Anonymousreply 10702/03/2012

She's sad and absolutely pathetic, keep wasting your hard earned money on this delusional bitch, so she can pay off more rent boys.

Remember WHERE you spent your money when you are living in a refrigerator box out on the street.

I've never been a fan, I've always thought this talent free hack's shows were nothing more than a mediocre Vegas act, with a tape of her 'voice' playing as she gyrates like a failed Broadway dancer.

You'd all do better going to Vegas and watching some real hard workers who don't make anywhere near what this old whore makes, go see an actual Vegas stage show featuring some real dancers and/or a lounge act!

Madonna is so over it's ridiculous. Her lame jokes on talk shows, her superior attitude about everything, her pathetic attempt at directing a movie (even her own daughter has made statements to the press about no one taking her mom seriously as a director!) and every other stupid thing she's been doing to keep herself in the limelight, it's all getting so tired.

Any sane fan of hers (are there any?), who still pays to see her live, especially after comments such as this, really needs their head examined.

by Anonymousreply 10802/03/2012

What R66 said. I don't think about her at all usually, but whenever she has something to promote it's impossible to get away from her. Unless you live in a cave or something.

by Anonymousreply 10902/03/2012

Didn't you hear what my lovely friend told you to do? Stop wasting time posting and tart working harder, peasants, so you can save those pennies!

by Anonymousreply 11002/03/2012

[quote]Madonna NEEDS money and income to enhance her career - she just doesn't make it her god.

She has hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank. She NEEDS more "to enhance her career"? What horseshit.

And she DOES make it her god... quite clearly, as this new comment shows. She could not make it any plainer were she photographed worshiping before an idol of Mammon.

by Anonymousreply 11102/03/2012

[R103] You type fat.

by Anonymousreply 11202/03/2012

We'd be better off without her.

by Anonymousreply 11302/03/2012

It's pathetic that some of you still don't "get" her after all these years. She helped uplift gay dancers back in a time of AIDS when gays were scorned. She's donated lots of money to Jewish charities. She adopted orphans from Africa who would have had no chance without her largesse.

by Anonymousreply 11402/03/2012

That makes her a fine philanthropist, [R114]. Not an artist.

by Anonymousreply 11502/03/2012

I'd pay to go see her if she'd promise to stop making movies, either in front of or behind the camera.

by Anonymousreply 11602/03/2012

Her associated with the gay community is ending really tragically if these posts are anything to go by. Madonna, if you're reading this - at least 1 of us still adores you.

I know it's Friday, but it's not good to start drinking so early in the day.

by Anonymousreply 11902/03/2012

Wouldn't you get wrecked on the sauce if you were a fan of hers and reading these posts - feral HATRED - from your own PEERS?!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 12002/03/2012

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 12102/03/2012

r121 = 46 years old.

by Anonymousreply 12202/03/2012

[quote]It's pathetic that some of you still don't "get" her after all these years. She helped uplift gay dancers back in a time of AIDS when gays were scorned. She's donated lots of money to Jewish charities. She adopted orphans from Africa who would have had no chance without her largesse.

Parody posts are always hilarious!!

by Anonymousreply 12302/03/2012

Funny that the orphans were brought up. I watched her on ANDERSON yesterday and when he talked about her children, the screen flashed a picture of her two, but no pictures and not even a mention of the adopted two.

by Anonymousreply 12402/03/2012

So blame Anderson for that, not her.

by Anonymousreply 12502/03/2012

I'm gone through so many majestic emotions, today. Memories. Terror. Excitement... and finally, total communion as the new video hits and everybody seems to acknowledge something we've kept in our bosoms for years - her streetwise verve is like home. Even if it was contrived. It makes me cry. She is extraordinary to me and I am so grateful to have her back in the mainstream. Keeping it as simple and excited for life as the child she was wanting the world's love to replace the void her mother left.

I'm so very PROUD of her today.

by Anonymousreply 12602/03/2012

And I'm proud of you R126 for having the courage to validate her and face the wrath of the orthodoxy here in this viper pit...

She's kept us dancing all these years. You can't really ask any more of her.

by Anonymousreply 12702/03/2012

Thanks r127 - I was prepared to face them down on my tod, enthusiasm intact :-)

I want to clarify something - I never follow what's going on in her actual life, as I don't follow Britney's life - I care about their progress as pop queens. When she makes a bitchy or vain comment, it has no bearing on the personality she's presented in her record.

As you wrote, the dancing won't stop.

by Anonymousreply 12802/03/2012

R78 and R80 seem obsessed with smells; no doubt they fantasize about what what they assume is the entoxicating, erotic aroma of Madonna's hairy armpits, rancid cooter and dingle-berried asshole. They'd eat the peanuts out of her shit and lick the discharge from her yeast infection off her vertical bacon sandwich.

by Anonymousreply 12902/03/2012

Very funny R126 / R127...

No need to go overboard though on the parody tho'...

by Anonymousreply 13002/03/2012

It's no parody, friendo. I am in deadly earnest with what I write just as I am in carefree euphoria on the dancefloor.

Maybe I'm not much of a blogger, but I can DANCE.

Madonna has given me many opportunities.

by Anonymousreply 13102/03/2012

So now any support of Madonna here is characterized as parody?

It just kills you that not all of the gays are in lockstep on this issue.

The hatred for this woman on this site is pathological.

by Anonymousreply 13202/03/2012

All this whining but no one has even mentioned how much tickets to her show cost. What's the price range?

We all know Babs knocked over her fans and Liza's not exactly a cheap habit either.

by Anonymousreply 13302/03/2012

After seeing her video, and hearing her "song" - I finally appreciate how good the deaf, dumb and blind have it.

What a coagulated mess of whore discharge she is!

by Anonymousreply 13402/03/2012

OP is a hardcore Madonna fan pissed off by being priced out of the ticket market by an extended term of low/no wages.

This may be my favorite sentence on the entire thread. And that's really saying something.

Case closed!

I want to go to her concert just to pelt her with hydrangeas for that statement.

Thank you for finding the perfect word--communion. Her concerts achieve a transcendent oneness with the audience. Whether it's through music, dance,or Kabala, she challenges us to find our higher selves, to stand taller, and see farther. In life, as in art, she's committed to honesty.

by Anonymousreply 14102/04/2012

I guess she's forgotten her days at the Automat trying to make soup out of hot water and ketchup.

by Anonymousreply 14202/04/2012

It's my dream to see Madonna play live.

Voyager 2 just sent a transmission from deep space: it can detect your MARY!-ness all the way from outside the solar system.

Nobody does a live show like her.

Nobody.

by Anonymousreply 14802/07/2012

Is 300 the top tier price? Or do they start @ $300?

Fuck off!

Her last tour was atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 15002/07/2012

[quote]Her last tour was atrocious.

I agree. I saw the DVD of it and it was horrible: Ridiculous costumes, a bunch of screens used as props, lazy choreography (like spur of the moment dancing you do in a club), and she remixed the fuck out of the songs so bad that they were unrecognizable. I'm so glad I didn't waste money on that shit.

by Anonymousreply 15102/07/2012

Gaga says her fans should wait all night if they want the best view of the stage on her upcoming tour:

"To give you a bit of insight on the design of my new tour, the central area within the stage will be known as The Monster Pit.

The Monster Pit is General Admission only, and Little Monsters unlock it when they arrive to the arena or stadium.

"Entry to The Monster Pit is relegated to the fans who have arrived first, waited all night, (and) dressed to 'Ball.'"

Yeah, this will end well. The Little Monsters will be ripping each other's throats out to get into the pit. Almost sounds Hunger Games-ish.

by Anonymousreply 15202/07/2012

Anyone who believes that Madonna is an icon has a very poor grasp of the English language. Yes, when she was younger she broke barriers, but the woman knows nothing about class or grace. When you are younger, you can get away with being crass because youthful looks and attitude let you get away with it. But once you are over 40, character starts to take over. After 40, you can be youthful, sexy and have character, and be absolutely fabulous. But if, after 40, you still have not cultivated character, attempts at being youthful and sexy result in caricature, ala Madonna.

by Anonymousreply 15302/07/2012

She doesn't comment that creating a show, touring, paying all the people associated with the show, etc., etc., is expensive?

No, her comments are all about her. "I'm worht it."

by Anonymousreply 15402/07/2012

How do Madonna's shows compare to Cher's Farewell Tour show which was pretty goddamn awesome.

by Anonymousreply 15502/07/2012

[quote]Anyone who believes that Madonna is an icon has a very poor grasp of the English language.

Wait.... what???

by Anonymousreply 15602/08/2012

I saw you live, on TV, at the Superbowl, dear. I wouldnt spend a cent to see your bony ass in person. I'm DONE with you !

by Anonymousreply 15702/08/2012

Lady Gaga has released the poster for her Born This Way Ball tour. Um...yeah.

by Anonymousreply 15802/08/2012

r141, Kaballah? Jewish mysticism? Is that why she wore that HUGE cross in her latest music video?

by Anonymousreply 15902/08/2012

R159 I think it's ridiculous too. She's always wearing crosses, yet she's a part of Kaballah/Jewish mysticism.

I think the old bitch is just confused and doesn't know what the fuck she's doing.

by Anonymousreply 16002/08/2012

The hatred is getting a bit old hat now, guys.

We get it. You're jealous of her.

by Anonymousreply 16102/08/2012

I got my nosebleed seats for her Staples Center show in October. I cannot wait.

by Anonymousreply 16202/08/2012

"We get it. You're jealous of her."

We get it. You worship her. You're pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 16302/09/2012

[quote]We get it. You're jealous of her.

Why would anyone be jealous of a terribly unhappy old woman who has to pay people to be her boyfriends?

by Anonymousreply 16402/09/2012

I bet he posts on DL:

"LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police are searching for a man convicted of threatening to kill Madonna who walked away from a Los Angeles-area mental hospital last week.

Los Angeles police say Robert Dewey Hoskins left a state hospital where he had been committed last year.

Police said in a news release issued Thursday that the 54-year-old is "highly psychotic" and can be extremely violent and should not be approached by members of the public.

Hoskins served a 10-year prison sentence for stalking and threatening Madonna, and court records show he was convicted of vandalism in July 2011. The singer testified against him during his 1996 trial.

Police say they have searched areas where Hoskins may try to go, including the city of Long Beach, which is south of Los Angeles."

by Anonymousreply 16502/09/2012

I would love to be her boy-toy.

by Anonymousreply 16602/10/2012

I'll always remember something Oprah said about fame. She said that when you become very rich and/or famous, you become MORE of the person you already were. So if you were a nice person, that becomes amplified when you are rich/famous. And if you are a nasty person, THAT becomes amplified. All I remember about Madonna's early days was her proclamation that she wanted to "rule the world." That pretty much tells me the type of person she was, and therefore the type of person she IS (now amplified).

by Anonymousreply 16702/11/2012

I wonder if she wishes she'd cultivated her fans the way Gaga does with her little "monsters"?

by Anonymousreply 16802/11/2012

"I wonder if she wishes she'd cultivated her fans the way Gaga does with her little "monsters"?"

Cult is how I'd describe the Little Monsters. They're the most hated fanbase on the internet.

Anyway...Madonna cultivated her fans through MTV. Gaga through the internet. Obviously the internet is much more instant and interactive. But it's apples and oranges, really. The internet didn't exist during Madonna's rise to fame so it's hard to compare.

by Anonymousreply 16902/11/2012

Who goes to see her? I'm not asking rhetorically, I really am wondering. If anyone here has been to a Madoona show recently, what did the audience look like? Are there lots of young people? Lots of girls/women?

by Anonymousreply 17002/11/2012

Her latest tours don't appeal to me because she does songs from her latest catalogue of work. Those songs are not as popular or as recognizable as her earlier work when she was at the height of her success.

by Anonymousreply 17102/11/2012

[quote]If anyone here has been to a Madoona show recently, what did the audience look like? Are there lots of young people? Lots of girls/women

I've seen her Drowned World, Re-Invention and Confessions tours live.

She pretty much attracts the same audience as Cher. Young, older, gay, straight, black, white, etc... It is a mix.

by Anonymousreply 17202/11/2012

[quote]She pretty much attracts the same audience as Cher.

Yeah, circling vultures.

by Anonymousreply 17302/11/2012

[quote]...her superior attitude about everything...

Sounds like most of the posters on DL.

by Anonymousreply 17402/11/2012

That's right. They should save their money so they can see her A) show up 2 hours late B) lip-syncing or singing live very badly C) backup dancers doing most the work.

by Anonymousreply 17510/13/2012

She's not relevant anymore. She could never sing nor dance. She has always had huge thighs.

by Anonymousreply 17610/13/2012

R176 that's why it's infuriating some fags and some old hags still love this bitch...I mean they're like so dumb.

by Anonymousreply 17710/13/2012

Saw her weds and the show was great. Gorgeous visuals and great dancing. I had a blast.

Loved some of the MDNA songs so I'll be getting it. I hadn't been paying much attention to her new songs but I really did like what I heard.

by Anonymousreply 17810/13/2012

R178 and the singing? did she lip-sync again or sing live and sound flat?

by Anonymousreply 17910/14/2012

I want to answer you seriously but I don't think you care for my answer r179.

by Anonymousreply 18010/14/2012

She sang live for some songs, completley lipsynced other songs, and sang on top of a prerecorded lead vocal track for other songs.

by Anonymousreply 18110/14/2012

The highest price ticket for Led Zeppelin's record smashing 1977 tour was $9.75

Adjusted for inflation that comes to about $35 today.

And people wonder why the music industry is dead.

It committed suicide by greed.

by Anonymousreply 18210/14/2012

Well, Madonna hates her fans but she'll gladly take advantage of anyone foolish even to still support her. Why give money to someone who hates you and doesn't want anything to do with you? I can't believe it.

by Anonymousreply 18310/14/2012

I wonder if all those fans who "wored all year to come and see her play live" are happy with their decision lol. Can you imagine saving up for this shit, only to have the concert room overheated, and wait 2 1/2 with just a simple DJ playing for this bitch to show up late and then lip sync a shitty gimmick-filled performance?
