Rick Perry Makes Gaffe, Says U.S. Is At War With Iran

OKATIE, S.C. -- Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry is correcting himself after saying the US is at war in Iran instead of Iraq.

At a campaign stop Thursday in South Carolina, a woman asked the Texas governor his views on current U.S. military operations and how they compare to the nation's role in World War II.

Perry began the answer by talking about Iran and Afghanistan before someone in the audience interrupted him. The Texas governor quickly realized he misspoke, joking that the comment "will be on the front page."

Similar gaffes have plagued Perry, including an incident last month when he forgot, during a presidential debate, which of three federal agencies he had proposed to abolish.

In Perry's case, it would only be considered a gaffe if he got something right.

Why the hell is he still running? He's got to be either totally delusional, or else he's managing to siphon off campaign funds into his own pocket.

Perry is at war with himself.

He doesn't want to be president if it's going to be this hard. This past summer, he had a bunch of advisors encourage him to get into the race since the mere mention of his name had him high in the polls. But if he actually has to know about issues and discuss them intelligently, he clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

Perry is in over his head and now he just has to bash gays and Obama in desperation. He'll drop out shortly.

Here's another one who ought to call it quits already. This is how she behaves at a forum [italic]and she's running for president?![/italic]

This all sounds so horrifyingly familiar. I guess it means that half the US will consider him "presidential". Hello, President Perry.

One of the talking heads shows today had a reporter on who said Perry's staff is frustrated that when they're flying to debates or appearances, instead of reading and studying the issues and boning up on material likely to be covered, he's surfing the net, playing computer games, looking at family photos, making personal phone calls, and basically just fooling around wasting time.

It's not just that he's uninformed and undereducated, he's lazy and doesn't think he needs to know any more than he already does or that he needs to prepare and understand the material he'll be talking about.

Texas appears to have a habit of electing those kinds of people, R6.

The best parts of TX are dead.

Jews want the U.S. to go to war with Iran. They are trying to raise the temperature in the United States like they did with Iraq in 2001 and 2002 that Americans work themselves into a fever pitch that they actually believe that it's in our interest to attack Iran. The reality is Jews want the numbers and strength of the United States military to carry out their interests. Watch out for all the talk shows doing FAKE alarming stories on Iran. Andrea Mitchell yesterday was in Israel and dedicated her entire show to Israel's concerns about Iran.
