Which celebs absolutely loathe each other

Like, you can't put them in the room together without the fur flying?

by Anonymousreply 25712/30/2013

I would guess the former Mrs. Pitt and Angelina.

by Anonymousreply 109/29/2011

I loathe no one -

no one worth not loathing.

by Anonymousreply 209/29/2011

Lindsay Lohan and everybody else.

by Anonymousreply 309/29/2011

Madonna and Cher have their infamous blood hate for each other.

Also I believe Madonna and Sharon Stone absolutely loath one another but I don't recall what lead to it.

by Anonymousreply 409/29/2011

Austin and Rodiney

by Anonymousreply 509/29/2011

Jesus H. Christ R2.

In what realm is that funny to you? Let it go already.

by Anonymousreply 609/29/2011

Courtney Love and most people.

by Anonymousreply 709/29/2011

Fox and Michael Bay. Well, any actress and Michael Bay. He is filth.

by Anonymousreply 809/29/2011

This thread is destined to become infested with reality show trash who'll think their little quips in first person or comments about random reality show personalities are side-splittingly hillarious.

Thread over.

by Anonymousreply 909/29/2011

Kukla and Fran. Ollie wants nothing to do with their feud and has always taken the high road.

by Anonymousreply 1009/29/2011

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito.

by Anonymousreply 1109/29/2011

I remember there was supposedly some bad blood between George Clooney and Marky Mark. Walhberg allegedly wanted no part of that lil in crowd of Brad, Matt Damon and George and refused to be part of the Ocean pics.

Never heard that about Madonna and Cher/Madonna and Sharon Stone. Madonna and Stone were photographed playing (??) nice at the Cannes Film Festival a couple of years ago.

Definitely Madonna and Sandra Bernhard.

by Anonymousreply 1609/29/2011

Streisand and Patti LuPone can't stand one another. Patti has said several bad things about Streisand.

by Anonymousreply 1709/29/2011

Ryan O'Neal and Tatum O'Neal.

by Anonymousreply 1809/29/2011

Madge is the queen of the haters.

Besides Miss Sandra, there's GOOP and Ingrid Casares and Stella McCartney and ...

by Anonymousreply 1909/29/2011

That's not true, r8.

He was so nice to me on set. And he was really patient because I've never acted before.

He's just an amazing, driven director.

by Anonymousreply 2009/29/2011

Barbra Streisand and LAINIE KAZAN!!!

by Anonymousreply 2109/29/2011

R19, what is the deal with Vadge and her alienating every friend she's ever had? What are the stories behind it? She used to be BFF's with Rupert Everett too.

by Anonymousreply 2209/29/2011

Stephen Spielberg and Julia Roberts

by Anonymousreply 2309/29/2011

Babs probably doesn't even known who Patti Lupone is. Streisand's reaction to the name would likely be something like, "Patti Lupone? Is that the name of the character I played in that Gene Hackman movie I was in?"

by Anonymousreply 2409/29/2011

Any female who willingly works with Michael Bay a)needs quotes around actress and b) deserves whatever they get, unless they are willing to fuck their way up the Hollywood ladder.

I'd fuck him, because I like hot douchebags, but I'd never, ever work with him.

by Anonymousreply 2509/29/2011

Madonna & Gwyneth looked pretty friendly in East Hampton just last August.

by Anonymousreply 2609/29/2011

I wish the irritating 'Michael Bay Hates Women' troll would die already.

by Anonymousreply 2709/29/2011

Kevin Smith and Reese Witherspoon.

by Anonymousreply 2809/29/2011

Regarding Madonna and Sharon Stone, I believe it began when critics compared her performance in BODY OF EVIDENCE with Stone's role in BASIC INSTINCTS which had come out the year previous. She'd immediately bad mouth Sharon as soon as it was brought up in an interview.

Clooney is not friends with Russell Crowe. I remember Russell putting down celebs, naming Clooney and DeNiro as examples, for making commercials overseas. That actors should be "above" such things. Clooney responded that he was going to start a band called GRUNTING (making fun of RC's band name) with Bob DeNiro because that had much more integrity.

by Anonymousreply 2909/29/2011

David Letterman and Andy Rooney.

I guess Letterman and Cher made up.

by Anonymousreply 3009/29/2011

Of all the shit on DL lately, Lucy J, TTC, etc. you are upset about someone posting the obvious about a schlockmeister director?

Although, you never hear any specfics about him, just that he's evil incarnate, so who knows?

When I saw that AMFAR photo my first thought was that Stone was laughing at Madge looking like a $5 hooker.

The Madge wars are the most fun. Madge said something after Basic Instinct came out, like she wanted to kiss Stone. Stone said something like not in this lifetime.

Madge called Cher a cunt through her publicist but I'm not sure why.

I was watching Will and Grace the other day and was astonished they made several obvious jokes about Tom Cruise being gay. I had no idea Americans as a whole consider him to be gay - I thought the thought of being sued by him prevented such stuff!

Madonna got tired of Gwyneth's vapid ass. She could sense that Paltrow had zero depth and was nothing more than a spoiled hollywood princess who only cared about herself. Plus, Paltrow was itching for a record deal. Madonna just happened to own a label at that time.

Madonna hasn't feuded with anyone. But she has been wounded by a great many others. There are nights where she must sit in her bathroom and weep for a good hour or two at the shit people have done to her.

by Anonymousreply 5909/29/2011

Helen Lawson and Neely O'Hara own this thread.

by Anonymousreply 6009/29/2011

[quote]There are nights where she must sit in her bathroom and weep for a good hour or two at the shit people have done to her.

Are you kidding me? That cunt has ice in her veins. She was making fun in Truth or Dare of a girl for getting raped.

by Anonymousreply 6109/29/2011

Total prick during the filming of An Officer and a Gentleman, r54.

Would confer with the director about character issues/line reads and not include Winger. She was just the broad who should defer to the big boys according to him.

Sharon Stone had the same problem on Casino. She dealt with it by walking into Scorcese's trailer during a 'Marty and the boys' conference and told them that her character was not a wallpaper whore and they'd better include her for the good of the movie. Stone can be a cunt, but that took balls.

by Anonymousreply 6209/29/2011

Angelina Jolly and Jennifer Aniston

by Anonymousreply 6309/29/2011

Nah, not Aretha and Patti, but Aretha and Gladys Knight. They were childhood friends and it lasted until Gladys called out Aretha's mom as a deserting mother in her biography. Gladys and Aretha showed up for Oprah's big birthday bash a while back and Aretha didn't even look at Gladys throughout the taping of the show. I don't know if they ever reconciled.

by Anonymousreply 6409/29/2011

Aretha said during an interview several years ago that a certain lady was spreading lies about her and she had better watch out and shut her mouth. I guess she was talking about Gladys.

by Anonymousreply 6509/29/2011

[quote]Walhberg allegedly wanted no part of that lil in crowd of Brad, Matt Damon and George

As if those guys would have allowed that common street trash into their inner circle. Hell, they were probably all afraid he'd put one of their eyes out, or bite off an ear.

by Anonymousreply 6609/29/2011

I heard Clooney has no problem with male street trash, r66.

Now if Wahlberg was bottom street trash, then no.

by Anonymousreply 6709/29/2011

I heard Kukla, Fran and Ollie were no longer on speaking terms also.

by Anonymousreply 6809/29/2011

Gladys and Aretha have been feuding since they started in showbiz. Allegedly, Gladys walked up to Aretha at a show and complemented her on how she did. Aretha just glared at her and turned her back.

Aretha says the feud started when she offered Gladys and the Pips a ride on her jet to Dr. King's funeral. The free ride went unthanked, and ruffled Aretha's feathers.

Gladys gave an interview in the eighties where she stated that she wished Aretha and her were closer. Aretha sent a picture to her of the two of them posing and asked "How close do you want us to be?"

On Oprah's 40th bash, Aretha wouldn't even look in Knight's direction when she sang. And she didn't join in the standing ovation Knight got afterwards.

Franklin isn't a walk in the park to deal with, but I heard Knight can be a nasty piece of work herself.

by Anonymousreply 6909/29/2011

Aretha, that old cunt!

by Anonymousreply 7109/29/2011

George Clooney and Angelina Jolie doesn't like each other. It all started when George was doing press for some movie and Angelina walked by.George waved at her and greeted her and she ignored him...The interviewer wrote about it too.

by Anonymousreply 7209/29/2011

I know Gladys personally. I have known her for years. She is an absolute sweet heart. Gladys split her earnings evenly with the Pips, and she did not have to. She paid all the med bills for one of them when he was stricken with cancer. She also stayed in the group long after most wanted her to break free as a solo.

Aretha went ballistic when (in the 70s) several music forums mags critics stated that Gladys and Patti had voices that could rival Aretha's. The bitch went ape shit ever since refusing to show up with them or perform on the same ticket. There was an opportunity to have all three appear in several concerts together but Aretha would have none of it. They got Warwick instead.

by Anonymousreply 7309/29/2011

Thanks R73. That's why I said "I've heard." Thank you for clearing that up, because Gladys has never struck me as the type who could be that nasty.

Gladys wanted Aretha for "Sisters in the Name of Love". She declined, so she got her good friend Dionne instead.

Aretha has feuded with just about every major female entertainer in the music biz. She also went apeshit when Natalie Cole came on the scene, because she had turned down the chance to work with Cole's producers, who wrote "This Will Be" specifically for Aretha.

by Anonymousreply 7409/29/2011

W&W for R59. I laughed.

by Anonymousreply 7509/29/2011

Cameron Diaz loathes Sofia Coppola--and vice-versa

Madonna and Goldie Hawn went out of their way to treat Charlize Theron like shit at a fancy party in the early 00s. They were pissed because she had recently secured the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago...even though Goldie felt she was entitled to it (with Madonna playing Velma Kelly). It was high school mean girl bullshit, but Charlize handled it as well as she could've (a young woman in her 20s facing off against a couple of veteran bitches almost twice her age). Incidentally, CT lost the role when Rob Marshall took over, but it allowed her to do Monster, which won her the Oscar for Best Actress.

Jonah Hill and Matthew Morrison...although JH seems to hate MM more than the other way around (but only because JH isn't a hot guy).

by Anonymousreply 7609/29/2011

Didn't Lambchop die with Sherrie R68?

by Anonymousreply 7709/29/2011

I didn't know Theron was originally in Chicago. That would have been amazing to see, although if it had to be Monster or Chicago, she lucked out.

by Anonymousreply 7809/29/2011

by Anonymousreply 7909/29/2011

Dakota Fanning & Abigail Breslin.

by Anonymousreply 8009/29/2011

Madge vs J-lo. Anyone else remember the decade old story of Madge, Fishsticks GOOP and some other celebs walking en masse out of a room just as soon as J-lo walked in?

by Anonymousreply 8109/29/2011

"It all started when George was doing press for some movie and Angelina walked by.George waved at her and greeted her and she ignored him...The interviewer wrote about it too."

I am now a Brangeloonie 4 Life because of that. lol.

Diaz vs Coppola: the funniest parts of "Lost In Translation" are Anna Faris' Cameron Diaz doppleganger character interacting with Scarlett's character. The look of contmept on Scarlett's face as "Cameron" talks about her dad's manorexia, Evelyn Waugh and Japanese culture is hilarious. I was shocked Sofia did it all so blatantly.

by Anonymousreply 8209/29/2011

by Anonymousreply 8809/29/2011

r61, come on - stop dramatizing. That woman was a bit too off-kilter and was the joke of the entourage for her craziness. She was also way over head trying to keep up with the other members to be part of the pack. She went out to the clubs and was bragging about working for Madonna, no doubt making an ass out of herself. And she bragged to the wrong people. She was a loon. When she was telling the backup singers what happened to her - making it her "in" - they couldn't have cared less and were patronizing her. When Madonna was told by her brother what happened to her, she laughed out of nervousness because it was a reaction to an absurd situation - and an absurd person - which we have all done. Especially here on DL.

by Anonymousreply 8909/29/2011

R89 is right. Niki and Donna were brushing their hair and barely acknowledging her, since she was lower on thr food chain. And Madonna laughed when her brother said the girl was "bleeding from her butt". Like any of you bitches wouldn't have the same spontaneous reaction to that phrase ...

Charles Laughton and Brenda De Banzie on the set of "Hobson's Choice." Charles wasn't used to having such a strong co-star and the fact that it was also a woman really drove him to his nasty, bitchy side. If you ever see this great film, you will see why Charles was pissed as Miss Brenda acts him and everybody else off the screen. John Mills is so fucking adorable in it too, but the film is all Brenda, all the time.

"You're treading on my foot!"

by Anonymousreply 9609/29/2011

"Whitney & Janet"

I don't think so. They seemed quite friendly and gossiped all night at this Elton John party.

by Anonymousreply 9709/29/2011

Alton Brown hates Sandra Lee. And so do I.

by Anonymousreply 9809/29/2011

Who DOESN'T hate Sandra Lee?

by Anonymousreply 9909/29/2011

I hate Sandra "I'm going to buy a bunch a processed shit from the store, throw it all in a bowl, and call it cooking" Lee as well.

Glad to know Alton hates here. I always thought he had good taste.

I think Charlie got his ass in a sling over his Keanu hatred.

by Anonymousreply 10309/29/2011

"Who DOESN'T hate Sandra Lee?"

I love Sandra Lee! She's hilarious! I just hate her "cooking".

by Anonymousreply 10409/29/2011

What's the story with Cher and Karen Black, R95?

by Anonymousreply 10509/29/2011

I'm guessing most female celebrities.

I've heard that most actors and actresses do not like Sean Penn.

by Anonymousreply 10609/29/2011

Rosie ODonnell and Donald Trump

What is the story about Charlie Sheen and Keanu Reeves? (In my gay mind they seem like a hot hook up fantasy.)

[quote]Aretha says the feud started when she offered Gladys and the Pips a ride on her jet to Dr. King's funeral. The free ride went unthanked, and ruffled Aretha's feathers.

Actually, R69, I've read that it was the other way around. It was Gladys and the Pips who offered Aretha a ride on their jet, and Ree not only didn't say a word to them during the flight but also got up and got out of the airplane without thanking Gladys and the Pips when they landed. On a few other occasions, Gladys reportedly walked up to Aretha and tried to be friendly but was treated with bitchy condescension.

I don't know Gladys that well and have only met her a couple of times, but both times she was very professional, courteous, kind and pleasant. A lot of people in the entertainment industry can be rude sometimes and I give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it down to them having a bad day. However Aretha was a mean old cunt EVERY single time I had to deal with her. And I probably got off easy because I'm a man. A female colleague of mine got treated even worse. Auntie Ree seems to hate most women.

Teresa Giudice and the world.

by Anonymousreply 11209/30/2011

I'm guessing most male celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 11309/30/2011

Didn't most of the "That 70s Show" cast hate Topher Grace? Not that I'd want to hang out with the douche-trio of Kutcher, Valderrama and Masterson but didn't he hold himself above the rest of the cast and TV in general?

Also, reading between the lines, I'm guessing there was no love lost between Jane Kaczmarek and the rest of the "Malcolm in the Middle" cast. After her "migraine-out"/contract renegotiation, I noticed she didn't have scenes with the kids nearly as frequently and often her storylines didn't involve the family at all. Though by all accounts Frankie Muniz was no prize either.

by Anonymousreply 11609/30/2011

"Aretha says the feud started when she offered Gladys and the Pips a ride on her jet to Dr. King's funeral."

Did she really say that because I somehow doubt Aretha would have a jet since she's notoriously afraid of flying and will take the bus, car and or train only.

Madonna does go through super intense seeming relationships with people and then just drops them. Like a borderline or narcissist.

by Anonymousreply 12109/30/2011

r117 is right - Aretha is famous for being afraid of flying. She bus tours.

by Anonymousreply 12209/30/2011

Maybe she was silent in Gladys's plane because she was scared shitless to be flying at all. But then you'd think she would have explained or apologized after all these years.

by Anonymousreply 12309/30/2011

I saw Ingrid and Madonna together a few years ago at David Sylvian's show at Town Hall. They were very buddy buddy.

by Anonymousreply 12409/30/2011

Aretha and the producers of the Oprah show. On the "Behind the Scenes" show on OWN, they said that Aretha was quite the challenge to work with on the United Center show. The female producer said that Aretha stayed in her car the whole time and refused to come out, except to do a quick practice. She would not socialize with any of the other celebrities, even though everyone else was having a good time backstage. They also said that she had by far the most demands of any celebrity they've ever worked with. Even Oprah said that Aretha can be a challenge.

by Anonymousreply 12509/30/2011

"Charlie Sheen hates Keanu Reeves."

Yes, thank you for reminding me about that- it is evidence Charlie always was the kind of guy who spoke first and asked questions later.

by Anonymousreply 12609/30/2011

Charlie all but outed Keanu and his casting couch ways, not to mention his little heroin adiction. Charlie stopped short of laying it all on the table. Keanu's powerful friends were not pleased and Charlie had a downturn in his career.

by Anonymousreply 12709/30/2011

Shelly Long & Rhea Perlman.

Even though Shelly came back for the final episode (the final 20 minutes were taped on a closed set and didn't involve Shelly) when the cast came out for the applause of the audience, everyone was hugging everybody.

Shelly and Rhea were confronted with one another, and just nodded to each other,

by Anonymousreply 12809/30/2011

Madonna hated Sharon Stone in the 90s. I was at a Hollywood Bowl taping of the Arsenio Hall Show (?) where Madonna performed 'The Lady is a Tramp' (?!?) and changed one of the lyrics to 'I like a pair of tits that isn't a fake...Sharon Stone!'.

And I remember an interview with Stone where she was speaking about singing with James Brown at an AmFar event or something and she said she felt completely out of her element and now she understood what it must be like for Madonna every time she walked onto a film set. Meow!

by Anonymousreply 12909/30/2011

R116 Putting aside her lack of cooking skills, she is in on her own joke and she is also a self made lady. She grew up in a rather ghastly fashion but gives back to the community as opposed to acting like a bitch toward it.

She is also gay friendly and has a gay brother who she dotes on all cutesy like because he is younger than her.

Her cooking I can snark on all day! But, how she is as a lady I just cannot snark on at all because of how she is good people and all.

by Anonymousreply 13009/30/2011

Ingrid was with Madonna, the kids and Madge's new boyfriend in the South of France a couple of weeks ago. She's an obedient and loyal slave who will never rock the boat with Maddy, unlike the others who eventually step out of line and assert their own personality.

by Anonymousreply 13209/30/2011

When it comes down to it, we are talking here about three types and how they interact and grate on each other, or compete with each other:

1. The "real people" celebrities who somehow never quite lose their underlying personalities despite occasional forays into spotlight idiocy. They may not be perfect, they make mistakes, but you know you're dealing with a human being. (Meryl Streep, for one.)

2. The typical celebrities. They may be A, B, C, or D list. They may be on no list. But they have by the process of celebrityhood become hybridized to the extent that they are part human and part something else altogether. Usually mad, self-absorbed, dishonest-but-in-denia-about-it, and emotionally infantilized while also being narcissistic and dependent on others for approval, nurturing, and availability for abuse. Naturally when they come together there is great love, great hate, great secrets, great drama, and mostly great misunderstanding and great bullshit. If you're not a #1 and have not gone off the deep end to become a #3, you're here.

3. The Monsters. Usually A and B listers who can afford Monsterhood, but others attempt it. The Great Swine of the Business who, because of talent, smarts or the ability to blackmail act as they wish and are so absolutely bonkers that what they deserve is to be locked up in a padded cell between closely guarded shoots or performances with tranquilizer dart guns close by. Aretha is a prime example - an absolute monster, a lying, cheating, foul-minded, suspicious, hateful thing that - of course - is an indispensable part of our cultural heritage. Lesser lights, such as Mandy Patinkin, belong here - Complete Crazies. Michael Jackson. Madonna. But also types such as Bruce Willis, Celine Dion, Mimi, and Rosie O'Donnell.

If they ever visit pet shops, the canaries are always lying dead at the bottom of their cages when they leave. If they ever were to stick their heads into the back section of a plane, all the air masks would drop as the sensors registered their sucking all the oxygen out of the space.

And for some reason all these people have trouble getting along?

How odd!

by Anonymousreply 13309/30/2011

Aretha developed her fear of flying only in 1982 after she found herself on a very turbulent flight back to Detroit. The incident with Gladys and the Pips happened sometime in the late 60s or the early 70s.

by Anonymousreply 13409/30/2011

Aritha does sound like a complete monster. I read that she refuses to pay her bills. Stars that think they never have to pay get on my nerves...I think of Gime More and John Travolta.

Boy George and George Michael End Their 20-Year Feud

British gay icons Boy George and George Michael have ended their bitter 20-year feud in a string of friendly emails. After years of catty remarks, the pair famously fell out when the "Faith" singer branded the former Culture Club's frontman "homophobic" and called him "such a b**ch".

Boy George had previously hit out at Michael for keeping his sexuality under wraps - the star only came out as gay after he was arrested for propositioning a police officer in a public toilet in 1998. But Boy George insists they have now put their bad feelings behind them.

The 48-year-old singer says, "We have exchanged emails and things are pretty good between us. We've spoken a couple of times and he seems to be doing OK."

by Anonymousreply 13909/30/2011

What about Boy George and Gavin Rossdale?

by Anonymousreply 14009/30/2011

I feel like it is best that Michael Jackson died. I don't think he could have kept from touching his little boys. The thought of them probably kept him from sleeping.

by Anonymousreply 14109/30/2011

Farah Fath and Kirsten Storms

At least according to FF on Dirty Soap episode 1.

Considering they're both in LA and on the same reality show, the inevitable "accidental" (ie. producer-arranged) same room appearance and resulting cat fight should be fun.

by Anonymousreply 14209/30/2011

r142, nothing on that show is real, and it is all scripted; a soap written like a docusoap. The pairing of JPL and FF doesn't convince you of that?

I thought it was Marilyn and Gavin Rossdale that were bitter enemies?

by Anonymousreply 14409/30/2011

Maybe R130, but Sandra slept her way to the top and acts like a total cunt towards you if you work for her or are someone who can't do anything for her career.

Good for Alton, although I am not pleased with his born-again Christian self.

Marilyn hate Gavin Rossdale? Hummm.

by Anonymousreply 14709/30/2011

Boy George wrote about Gavin's affair with a trannie, in his bio.

by Anonymousreply 14809/30/2011

Wasn't there a lot of suspicion about Aretha's Detroit mansion burning down a few years ago? It sounded like foul play.

I don't think Streisand and Patinkin got along on the set of Yentl. It seems like she cut off all contact with him after filming was done. I'm sure she thought he was nuts.

Barbra is downright scared of him in this outtake...

by Anonymousreply 14909/30/2011

Aretha dislikes Natalie Cole? I find that hard to swallow. I mean, maybe she does dislike her but Natalie had been singing and making records for a while before she recorded "This Will Be."

Besides, Aretha has a history of passing on songs and then recording covers of them once they hit it big. Notably, she passed on "Son Of a Preacher Man" and watched in horror as Dusty Springfield recorded it and went on to have tremendous success with it. Aretha hustled her ass into the studio right quicklike and hoped her version would sell as well as Dusty's. It didn't.

Aretha has led quite an interesting life. Rumor had it that her Preacher Father was the daddy of her first born son who she had when she was 14. First husband, Teddy White, physically abused her and was her manager for a while, but he was terrible at it. Last husband, actor Glynn Turman, so the rumor goes, was found in bed with one of her sons. Divorce soon followed. I figure I'd be bitchy too with stuff like that floating around.

by Anonymousreply 15009/30/2011

Is that why she ate herself up into double-wide size?

by Anonymousreply 15109/30/2011

One story I read about the estrangement of George Clooney and Marky Mark was that they had gone into some club while making the Perfect Storm and some very young girls gathered around them. George was trying to be tactful and get loose of that jailbait, but Mark was very much into trying to get one of them to go with him. Allegedly, George got so disgusted that he axed Mark from any future projects that had been lined up for them both.

I remember seeing some pics of George and Brad and Angelina at some movie premiere and boy howdy, Angelina looked like she wished she was anywhere else but standing between George and Brad. It wasn't just one pic. Several of the pics showed her being just as sourpussed. George and Brad were all smiles and laughter.

by Anonymousreply 15309/30/2011

Cher and Diana Ross.

Diana Ross and Mary Wilson.

by Anonymousreply 15409/30/2011

The trannie that Gavin Rossdale had the affair with was Marilyn. Rossdale wanted to forget all about it. Marilyn has spoke about to the media. Rossdale was not happy.

by Anonymousreply 15509/30/2011

Oh, I thought you were talking about Marilyn Manson.

Anyway, those pictures of Rossdale and Marilyn have come out, so Gavin can't deny it anymore.

Gavin's wife goes out of her way to look like a trannie, so it seems to be a good fit.

Cher talking about her feud with Madonna:

by Anonymousreply 15910/01/2011

R105 there's no great story unfortunately - in a recent book on Robert Altman Cher says bluntly that she liked everyone on the set of "Come back to the 5 & Dime" except Karen Black and the feeling was mutual. It might be related to the fact that Altman wanted Cher to play Black's role and she refused,

Also from that book: Altman hates Spacey, Jane Adams is extremely difficult. It's a good source of dish.

by Anonymousreply 16010/01/2011

Please go on about this book and give me the title R160, or tell me where to find it on the thread. I go out of my way to see his 70's material. Any good gossip from that period?

by Anonymousreply 16110/01/2011

Someone mentionned Ellen vs Rosie. I thought they were friends, what happened?

by Anonymousreply 16210/01/2011

R161 the book is Robert Altman: The Oral Biography. I found the second half especially interesting. He was not a lovable character - cruel to his wife, neglectful of his children - and the book doesn't mince around that.

Shelley Duvall does NOT participate: how telling! But a friend of Altman's calls Spacey the "Norman Bates of Hollywood."

by Anonymousreply 16310/01/2011

by Anonymousreply 16710/02/2011

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall did not get along at some point during the TV SITC. There was a magazine article about Kim being written and while she was being interviewed in the make-up trailer, SJP walked in and the interviewer wrote that they never spoke or looked at one another. There was definite tension in the air before SJP left.

Cut to the time they were discussing doing the movie and Kim was the only holdout. They were wrangling back and forth trying to get her onboard and it looked like the whole deal was going to fall through. At some awards show, SJP won something and before she went onstage, she made it a point to go over to where Kim was sitting and knelt down in front of her and whispered something to her before kissing her cheek. Kim definitely looked taken aback at this display, but I guess it did the trick, because the next thing being written was that Kim was in the movie.

Barbra Streisand and Cher. They are friends, but more like frenemies.

Barbra recently threw a dinner for Bob Mackie's longtime boyfriend and Cher of course was invited. When Cher got there, Barbra made a BIG PRODUCTION in front of everyone: 'HOW ARE YOU DOING WITH CHAZ? ARE YOU OKAY?' Cher was pissed and told Mackie later, "that's just Barbra...fucking Barbra."

I know this because a friend of mine is one of the caterers that works for Streisand. Apparently she has a VERY rigid list of requirements and the caterers can only use an approved list of serving staff, and nobody is allowed to bring cell phones with them.

by Anonymousreply 17310/08/2011

[quote]Drew Barrymore and Madeline Stowe (bad blood on Bad Girls)

Not just Drew. The other actresses were pissed that she didn't hang out with them after work and wasn't all that social with them. Stowe said in an interview with Movieline that during the filming of that movie, she was being very Methody with the role and felt that she needed to keep some distance between the other actresses and herself. The director told her to do what she needed to do and that the others would understand. Apparently not.

Also, I'm assuming that Winona Ryder burned quite a few bridges during her heyday, since no one has seen fit to guide her to a comeback in the years since her meltdown. She's worked, but considering the heights she once occupied and all the big names she worked with, the fact that pretty much none of them act like she exists now speaks volumes.

William B. Davis who played Smoking Man on X files has just published a memoir and throws major shade on David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson!

He describes Duchovny as so chronically late that call times had to be adjusted for him, difficult to talk to, and self-absorbed about his insistence on filming in LA.

He says Anderson never gave him a single "How are you?" in all the years they worked together and forced everyone in the make-up trailer to listen to her choice of music at top volume: "How arrogant!" He contrasts her with Anne Hathaway who was a delight to her crew & supporting cast. On Anderson: "Her acting improved over the years but her attitude never did."

by Anonymousreply 18010/09/2011

Mariska Hargitay and Marisa Tomei

by Anonymousreply 18110/09/2011

"Shelley Duvall does NOT participate: how telling!"

A couple of years back, tabloids were reporting that Duvall was suffering from severe mental issues and was living as a recluse in Texas. When they issued "Fairie Tale Theatre" on DVD, she did not provide any commentary.

I've never heard either say a bad word about each other. In fact, it was Altman who encouraged her to work with Kubrick.

by Anonymousreply 18210/09/2011

Well, I can attest to Karen Black's craziness. I personally saw her pull a microphone away from a black lounge singer in Austin, TX at the Driskill Hotel back in the 90s.

She jumped up from her chair in the hotel's bar, grabbed the microphone away from the frightened singer mid-song, and proceeded to scold the singer in front of everyone. She said, "You are singing this song all wrong! That is NOT how you sing it!" Karen then told her to start playing the piano and she sang the song the way she thought it should be sung.

When she finished, she handed the mike back and left the bar.

[R180] I've heard lots of nasty things about Duchovny and Anderson from people who lived and worked in Vancouver, when most of the first several seasons of the show was filmed.

David D was a notorious asshole to everyone who ever crossed his path. He was banned from a cafe because he threw a scalding hot drink back in a barista's face. And he believed women were at his beck and call - he would have his hotel room number printed on business cards and leave them with waitresses, shop girls, etc. and be very aggressive about them meeting him. Not an invitation, or even a little flirting. Just ordering them, in a way, as if he'd ordered a latte. And he was a rough fuck, apparently. He's got a huge cock, but the whole experience was apparently not at all fun for those who took a ride.

As for Gillian, she's a twisted sister who liked to cocktease guys. But she's a pussyhound (not a Bush supporter!) and is or was in a marriage of convenience/show with her beard.

[quote]Madonna and Cher have their infamous blood hate for each other.

Actually they've been on good terms for the past decade or so.

When Cher released Believe, Madonna publicly gushed over the "Dove L'Amore" song (she should, it sounded like a mix of La Isla Bonita and Frozen) and even wanted to direct the video for it.

Since then, both have had nothing but good things to say about each other. Cher was asked on Twitter the other day if she had any advice for Madonna's comeback album and she tweeted back, "Work it girl."

Cher's mortal enemy has always been Bette Midler!

by Anonymousreply 19110/09/2011

Interesting dish, R185! Davis does concede that Duchovny & Anderson played the characters well - Mulder & Scully, not being the warmest of individuals. It does sound like the supporting X Files cast got along famously.

I don't know about Bruce Willis, but Cloris Leachman has a nasty reputation. Mahoney is not the first to complain about her.

by Anonymousreply 19510/09/2011

My uncle worked with Cloris Leachman back in the early 80s and for years I've heard horror stories about her. She still owes him money - not a lot, but in the days before ATMs I guess it wasn't uncommon to borrow money from whoever had it on them. He was the production manager on a summer theater gig she was doing and I'm sure just trying to keep her happy because she was evidently a nightmare to work with and he never knew what might set her off.

More recently, I know someone who tried to interview her and she came in with a ton of demands and then proceeded to turn the interview around on the guy and berate him for being overweight. She's VERY anti-fat people even though she's put on weight as she's aged. Claims it's all in the name of health but then she sneaks off and smokes.

R213, I thought Winona thought Gwyneth stole Shakespeare in Love from her.

Aretha is notorious around Detroit for never paying her bills. The Free Press even did a front page story about it once, complete with a heifer-tastic half-page shot of her. During black history month. Ha ha, I bet she's burned some people at that paper.

I used to work with someone who knew her family. Don't know anything about the icky rumors about her dad, but the person said Rev. Franklin was actually happy to have her out of his hair when she decided to move to New York and go secular. Of course considering that the family-approved bio of C.L. Franklin revealed that he fathered a child with a 13 or 14 year old girl from his church, the rev didn't provide much of an example.

by Anonymousreply 22310/11/2011

R197, it was on Kiss of the Spider Woman that Rob Marshall developed his hatred of Bebe (although she was a royal bitch on Damn Yankees, too, and was almost replaced after the CA tryout).

When she replaced Chita in the London company of KOTSW, she was being "put into" the show and rehearsing a lift with the dancers when she said, "The first faggot that drops me is fired".

Not sure if she was serious or just her displaying odd sense of humor, but the guys were NOT AMUSED. She was almost brought up on charges, and Rob (along with Hal Prince) closed the iron door.

To top it off, she was absolutely horrible in the show.

It is divided up into short sections, because Richards has health problems that prevent him from a long tour. They don't hate each other, but they have grown apart. They work together OK, however.

Teri Snatcher and the rest of the DH cast, obviously. Remember that season where her character was written into a separate apartment and rarely had to deal with the other women? And in the last season, there was a lot of camera trickery where Hatcher clearly wasn't in the shot with the rest of the women -- over the shoulder shots, green screens, etc.

The other three women (and Vanessa Williams) teamed up for the traditional cast- and crew gifts at the end of the show. Hatcher was left out.

R224 Spiderwoman preceded Yankees which means that Marshall worked with her after the alleged 'f*ggot' comment. Bebe is weird. Period. Some people get her and some people don't. And she doesn't give a fuck. But, yeah, Marshall washed his hands of her after Yankees and wouldn't even consider her for Chicago movie.

Ben Stiller loathes Oliver Stone and every then-young actor who was in Platoon (Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Kevin Dillon, Forrest Whittaker, Francisco Quinn, John McKinley) because he auditioned for several parts, including the ones Sheen and Depp got, and Stone refused to put him in the movie. Tropic Thunder is aimed at Stone.
