Clear Channel are a bunch of right wing reactionaries.%0D %0D Fuck them.

by Anonymousreply 209/02/2011

I wonder when they'll ban my music?

by Anonymousreply 309/02/2011

This never happened.

by Anonymousreply 509/02/2011

Did they ban commas at the same time?

by Anonymousreply 609/02/2011

[quote]This never happened.

Not according to Snopes. Apparently it was a "suggested" do not play list, rather than a formal ban.

by Anonymousreply 709/02/2011

Clear Channel (of course) put out a statement that the list was fiction.

by Anonymousreply 809/02/2011

r8, so how many songs will they play from that list to prove it wrong?

by Anonymousreply 909/02/2011

These suggestions don't make any sense. I heard Five for Fighting's "Superman" endlessly in the month after 9/11. The flying references didn't seem to bother anyone.

by Anonymousreply 1009/02/2011

This never happened. THE SONGS WERE NEVER BANNED. OP needs to learn to read instead of causing a kerfuffle over things that never happened.

We get it op, you don't like the right wing, fine. It does you no good to post lies, making yourself look foolish. You are the left-wing version of the tea party idiots.

by Anonymousreply 1109/02/2011

And yet, R11, Snopes says that the list existed. And Clear Channel has a notorious history of self-censorship.

On a related topic: anger management issues much?

by Anonymousreply 1209/02/2011

You could make the ban permanent for about 2/3rds of that list and it wouldn't bother me.

by Anonymousreply 1309/02/2011

No one said the songs were banned. This list WAS made as a "SUGGESTION" from Clear Channel to its stations. So yeah, this list did exist, but stations were still at their own discretion on their choice to play the songs and many of them did.
