Can Sam shift into humans too? He's killed humans, isn't that the rule?

Tommy is adorable.

by Anonymousreply 3107/29/2013

No, you have to have killed a blood relative.

by Anonymousreply 108/27/2011

I would kill a blood relative to gain that power. Am I a horrible person?

by Anonymousreply 208/27/2011

No, R2, of course not. In fact, I think it's worse to kill people who aren't your relatives. But it's only homicide, either way.

by Anonymousreply 308/27/2011

That depends on whom you ask, Ms. Anthony.

by Anonymousreply 408/27/2011

Depends on the relative too.%0D

by Anonymousreply 508/27/2011

I would shift into Alcide and then fuck myself!

by Anonymousreply 608/27/2011

The rule is killing a family member who is also a shifter. In Tommy's case, he killed his mom [accidentally?].

Luna's mother died giving birth to her hence she "killed" her mother and became a skinwalker.

by Anonymousreply 708/27/2011

What a stupid made-up rule! What kind of physical change would take place from killing another shifter who was a blood relative that would enable one to shift into humans? Just an arbitrary plot device that makes no sense whatsoever. And yes, I realize that all of True Blood is pretty ridiculous, but even fantasies have to make a modicum of sense.

It's a supernatural rule. That means it doesn't have to make sense!

by Anonymousreply 908/28/2011

Apparently the rule is a staple of the skinwalker legend, like vampires not being able to go into the sun.

by Anonymousreply 1008/28/2011

It's a fictional rule, so of course it's made up.

by Anonymousreply 1108/28/2011

I love that the queen at R8 wants shapeshifting to make scientific sense.

by Anonymousreply 1208/28/2011

My question: Where the hell is tonights new thread?!?%0D

by Anonymousreply 1308/28/2011

Who [m] did Sam kill?

by Anonymousreply 1408/28/2011

I think that Sam may have only killed Maryann the Maenad

by Anonymousreply 1508/28/2011

No, Sam has a murderous back story from Season 2.

by Anonymousreply 1608/28/2011

by Anonymousreply 1708/28/2011

I would turn into James Franco and then stick my finger right up my ass.

by Anonymousreply 1808/28/2011

What is going on with all of the TB threads ("Season 6"; "07/22") disappearing?!

Did someone start a flame war? Insult webbee? Post anti-vamp comments?!

by Anonymousreply 1907/25/2013

by Anonymousreply 2007/25/2013

What are you linking to, r20? The thread won't load and it crashes my iPad.

by Anonymousreply 2107/25/2013

R20 is linking to the TB Season 6 link that has disappeared for some reason. Does anyone know why it's gone?

by Anonymousreply 2207/25/2013

R8, it's very much like the Highlander mythology that if you kill another immortal you gain more power.

by Anonymousreply 2307/25/2013

Can't say for sure. There wasn't a flame war raging that's for sure. I don't know if it had anything to do with the many posts regarding Joe Manganiello. The on going conversation about him was pretty civilized. People agreeing to disagree, even if some of the comments were on the mean side. I certainly was guilty of posting a few of those but nothing outrageous. One of the last posters used the other F word and was posing as a straight frat boy type. That may have triggered an automatic shut down of the thread. It's too bad because some of the posters were funny and engaging.

by Anonymousreply 2407/25/2013

Thanks R24. The last time I checked the Season 6, everything seemed pretty time and good-natured to me. It's a shame because there were a lot of great observations.

by Anonymousreply 2507/25/2013

I feel you, r25. Anyway, this week brings a new episode and I'm sure someone will start a new thread for TB. Hope to see you there.

by Anonymousreply 2607/25/2013

Didn't the girlfriend shift into someone else and shifted back on live TV?

by Anonymousreply 2707/25/2013

Can someone explain why they used a mirror last night to look under the True Blood truck to see if any Vampires were escaping if Vampires DON'T HAVE A REFLECTIION?

by Anonymousreply 2807/29/2013

In season one, in the scene after Sookie drinks Bill's blood and is feeling better, she asks him what effect his blood will have on her. She also asks some questions about established Vampire mythology, like garlic being repellant to them and the no reflection in a mirror bit. Harris turned the Vampire myth on it's ear and invented new facts about Vampires and did away with others. The no reflection is one of those she chose to discount.

by Anonymousreply 2907/29/2013

But hasn't there been at least one scene where someone looked in the mirror and didn't see someone?

by Anonymousreply 3007/29/2013

I don't recall one, r30. Perhaps someone who has read the books can answer your question.
