Rodger the alien is probably one of the funniest cartoon characters in years.
American Dad, who here is a fan?
|by Anonymous||reply 45||01/17/2013|
Love the show. Watching it right now, in fact.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||07/29/2011|
American Dad fan and I LOVE Jeannie Gold wedding planner..

Stan's addicted to crack!

Second Season, Episode 14, Lincoln Lover: Stan tries the homosex where the man goes up in the man.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||07/29/2011|
Jeannie Gold is one of the funniest things ever!
From a writing stand point, the character of Roger is a fantastic concept. Because he has to dress up any time he wants to go out of the house, it gives them endless possible characters. My favorite was the overweight southern black woman he dressed up as. He and Francine are staking out Stan at a restaurant and Roger in character goes on and on about how good the food is: "Mmm uhmm, I may have lost my toes to the diabetes but it was worth it!!"
I also love the horribly racist old woman Roger befriends. Roger sends her off to buy him a churro and when she returns she angrily tells him, "Here!! Here's your dirty wetback donut!" That's what I now call churros!

The only one addicted to crack is R3 with his link to an obnoxious unrelated YouTube "music" video.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||07/29/2011|
And here's the "horribly racist old woman" now at R6 who obviously doesn't watch the show because that's the song played when Stan starts jonesing for crack in that episode, and obviously hates 70s funk. You are a wretched human being, R6.
Anyway, my favorite Roger escapade was when he and Francine pretend to be an economics professor and his wife, which quickly devolves into a take-off on "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf."
That and when Roger was Francine to make him an ortolan dish for him to eat while he watches a $499 pay-per-view show starring Barbra Streisand singing Celine Dion.

Could never get into it. Tries too hard to be edgy. Its agenda is way too obvious. Similar stuff that Simpsons, South Park or Family Guy does is funnier on those shows. Could never make it through on entire episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||07/29/2011|
I find Stan to be very hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||07/29/2011|
LOVE this show OP and can't get enough of Roger.%0D %0D I scratch my head and why, and how 'The Cleveland Show' and especially 'Bob's Burgers' are on the air, but American Dad, in my opinion has surpassed Family Guy. I don't even watch Family Guy very much anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||07/29/2011|
it's great.Like Family Guy its good cheap laughs only better.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||07/29/2011|
Also love the show. This was one of my favorite moments from last season -
|by Anonymous||reply 12||07/29/2011|
Love the show, loved last season and love Roger.%0D %0D I say this in every American Dad thread here, but Roger IS Datalounge.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||07/29/2011|
LOVE the show. What voice does Seth McFarlane do American Dad? Stan?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||07/29/2011|
Yes, R14, Seth is Stan. He is also Roger.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||07/29/2011|
I like it MUCh better than Family Guy. Stan is much sexier than the fat one.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||07/29/2011|
I hated American Dad at first. Hated Roger with a passion. And then I realized, Roger is pretty much Paul Lynde and how can you hate Paul Lynde? I loved the entire Lincoln Lover episode and whenever Greg and Terry have their little spats on air.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||07/29/2011|
i swoon for roger...
|by Anonymous||reply 18||07/29/2011|
It's the best show coming from Seth's stable of programs and probably the most underrated. Why it was passed up in favor of an Emmy for the more obvious and not as entertaining "Cleveland Show" is something I will never understand.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||07/29/2011|
American Dad is as good/better than Family Guy pre-cancellation.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||07/29/2011|
Starting watching at the very end of the 2010 season. I LOVE most of the episodes, but didn't enjoy this season except for a few shows.%0D %0D I wouldn't be surprised if it's goes off the air after this year. The ratings are pretty bad compared to Seth's other shows.%0D %0D BTW, Roger is beyond awesome!
|by Anonymous||reply 21||07/29/2011|
If they showed Roger posting on DL, my life would be complete.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||07/29/2011|
I had no idea the ratings were poor. I agree that it's the best of McFarlane's shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||07/29/2011|
This thread is useless without x-rated toons of Stan or Roger
|by Anonymous||reply 24||07/29/2011|
Be careful what you wish for, r24.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||07/29/2011|
Like this, r24?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||07/29/2011|
These whole adult toon shows are so lame now. Family Guy is so stupid, it's just basically Seth being snide at anyone that isn't a militant atheist.
The Simpson, don't even bother.
South Park are just aging repug frat boys wiggers, and like Family Guy have gone about 5 years passed the use by dated.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||07/29/2011|
Seth MacFarlane is a one-trick-pony. All his shows are the same. Interchangeable characters and premise. Nothing unique, same old same old.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||07/29/2011|
Why all the hate?? Family guy and American Dad both much better than any of the crap on free TV.. what comedy would you say is edgier? All network stuff is hugely unfunny!
|by Anonymous||reply 29||07/29/2011|
My favorite Roger line.
Who do you have to anally probe around here to get a glass of chardonnay?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||07/29/2011|
I like the fact that two of us had that picture at the ready, r26.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||07/29/2011|
american dad had gotten so shit words failed me... and then it delivered season 6 which was genius and redeemed itself
i loved the episodes when stan shits in shari and buckles pool and when roger gets roasted...
|by Anonymous||reply 32||08/16/2011|
Does anyone have any chapstick?
|by Anonymous||reply 33||10/06/2011|
I remember that line from the most recent episode and it clearly was some sort of reference or joke. But I gotta admit, I didn't get it. Anyone wanna 'splain it to me?
|by Anonymous||reply 34||10/07/2011|
Roger needs his own show.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||10/07/2011|
Roger is probably the greatest character on television today. The show is definitely the best of Fox's Sunday night line-up, but it's only really great when it's Roger-heavy.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||10/08/2011|
The Hurricane episode was hilarious with Stan messing up every time when he's under stress. I nearly didn't watch it after the disastrous Family Guy episode this week.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||10/08/2011|
"the sobering wisdom of Miss Dolly Parton"
|by Anonymous||reply 38||10/08/2011|
While the last two seasons are the weakest of its run, I still think Roger is one of the best animated characters on television.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||01/17/2013|
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes... Coming to kill ya!
|by Anonymous||reply 40||01/17/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 41||01/17/2013|
I'm guessing Stan would most likely be a bossy bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||01/17/2013|
Wonder if Seth uses any of his character voices with his lovers?
|by Anonymous||reply 43||01/17/2013|
Forgot to say that American Dad is one of the best shows on TV.
