Warm Cheesecake

Why is room temperature cheesecake better than warm cheesecake?

by Anonymousreply 2201/28/2013

Science. Our extensive tests with severed beef tongues long ago determined that the flavor ingredients which characterize cheesecake flow better when warm. They flow into the taste buds, which electrically convey a heavenly taste sensation directly to your brain!

oy you give me such nachas

by Anonymousreply 307/23/2011

I like cheesecake chilled.

by Anonymousreply 407/23/2011

Hot warm or cold , cheese cake is off my diet.

by Anonymousreply 507/23/2011

Off my diet too, R5, but I love it.

by Anonymousreply 607/23/2011

Because it coddles the bacteria along nicely for that sweetness and an extra tang.

by Anonymousreply 707/23/2011

Texture, OP. Warm cheesecake is like tapioca pudding.

by Anonymousreply 807/23/2011

Perception of sweetness is heavily influenced by temperature. If you make ice-cream, typically the recipe will involve making a custard which is incredibly sweet; unpleasantly sweet even. When the custard is frozen however, the low temperature dulls the sweetness into something much more palatable.

I can only eat cheesecake chilled (almost verging on frozen).

by Anonymousreply 1007/24/2011

Also, cheescake gets softer as it gets warmer, if you warm it up it's practically liquid. Chill it and it's dense and firm.

by Anonymousreply 1107/24/2011

In better homes, cheesecake is ALWAYS served slightly chilled for better flavor and texture.

Were you raised in a barn, OP?

by Anonymousreply 1207/24/2011

If I buy a frozen cheezecake, I always eat a few frozen slices. It's like the best cheezecake ice cream. I don't like the texture of it when it is at room temperature. It is too slimy and soft. I think it is better chilled.

The little ones have something to share about everything, don't they? Full of opinions, like the sawdust in stuffed animals.

by Anonymousreply 1507/24/2011

i like it creamier too.

Can't I say anything without getting a snarky response from you? Do you get your jollies following me from thread to thread to belittle me?

by Anonymousreply 1807/24/2011

Oh, and by the way, R15, I have also posted in the cat claw trimming thread if you would like to go over there and piss on me some more.
