What was the creepiest thread you ever saw on DL?

Why did you find it creepy?

by Anonymousreply 240February 10, 2020 4:15 AM

The suicide threads. Really, this is NOT the place.%0D %0D Unless, of course, you're Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton looking for encouragement.

by Anonymousreply 1July 4, 2011 5:59 PM

The whole dog raping baby stuff made me feel uneasy.

by Anonymousreply 2July 4, 2011 6:03 PM

That margarine fountain thing.

by Anonymousreply 3July 4, 2011 6:05 PM

Some of the conspiracy threads.

by Anonymousreply 4July 4, 2011 6:09 PM

The one about Joyce DeWitt being worth more than $2 Million.

by Anonymousreply 5July 4, 2011 6:11 PM

I LOOOOVE you, r3. Put a baby in my mangina.

by Anonymousreply 6July 4, 2011 6:12 PM

The recent one about how someone said their sister was going to get killed.

by Anonymousreply 7July 4, 2011 6:14 PM

The thread that linked to the infamous "Why I Masturbate my Son" article.

by Anonymousreply 8July 4, 2011 6:16 PM

r7, I didn't even post in that thread for fear of the FBI investigating me. Having said that, to me, it seemed like an obvious parody of the guy who started a thread a few weeks ago about his father having died on the floor and a bunch of queens saying how sorry they were to hear and sending imaginary flowers.

by Anonymousreply 9July 4, 2011 6:17 PM

When posters bash HIV positive people and use poz as a big slur

by Anonymousreply 10July 4, 2011 6:21 PM

r8, I just googled that because I'd missed it the first time, and holy shit.

I sincerely hope that it's just an epic troll.

by Anonymousreply 11July 4, 2011 6:21 PM

Two words: butt babies.

by Anonymousreply 12July 4, 2011 6:21 PM

The London Preppy/North Morgan thread creeps me out now. The troll who keeps bumping it up is a disturbed stalker.

by Anonymousreply 13July 4, 2011 6:23 PM

Shitbra

by Anonymousreply 14July 4, 2011 7:45 PM

That pro-religion thread.

by Anonymousreply 15July 4, 2011 7:50 PM

I could do without the incest and chickenhawk one's. Sample thread titles -%0D %0D "I think my 15 year old neighbor likes me. He keeps leaving his shirt off when he mows the lawn."%0D %0D "Uncle lust. Ever been attracted to your uncle?"

by Anonymousreply 16July 4, 2011 7:56 PM

All of the animal torture troll's posts. It's creepy how he thinks we want to read it and how often he posts them.

Any incest post. I skip those.

by Anonymousreply 17July 4, 2011 8:10 PM

R9 I posted in it several times, taking it not as a parody but what sounded like some very justified anger letting off steam. The FBI probably thought so too. They haven't been by yet.

by Anonymousreply 18July 4, 2011 8:32 PM

This thread is one of the creepiest because it represents the DL's infestation of suburbanites and queasy tummies.

Apart from R10 and R15, the frame of mind is anti-transgressive and less creeped-out by the freepers and homophobes living here than the absurd, over-the-top sex topics that pretty much are the DL's constant subtext.

You don't have to be a child or animal abuser to find the conversion of San Francisco to New Salt Lake City creepy.

by Anonymousreply 19July 4, 2011 8:35 PM

Oooh, lookie: r19 took a queer studies class in college!

by Anonymousreply 20July 4, 2011 8:38 PM

The thread that discussed the Hat man. I'm still freaked out by that shit.

by Anonymousreply 21July 4, 2011 8:47 PM

Any porn thread in which one hairy testicle picture can be used by a poster to identify actor, film, scene, costar, celestial sign, FICO score and HIV status.

by Anonymousreply 22July 4, 2011 8:52 PM

The famous Olive Garden thread from the early 2000s - because it had so many people defending the place as if their lives depended on it.

by Anonymousreply 23July 4, 2011 8:54 PM

all that shit about lexbeaux's father

by Anonymousreply 24July 4, 2011 9:08 PM

And then R20 demonstrates the favored tactic.

Yep. Creepy.

by Anonymousreply 25July 4, 2011 9:11 PM

When someone says how bad they want to fuck and wear some celebrity who's unknown to you like a hat and you look at their link and it looks like a 13 year old boy.

by Anonymousreply 26July 4, 2011 9:23 PM

Could I get a link to the Hat man thread? Don't remember that at all.%0D %0D Let's be easy on the suicide threatening threads. Yeah, it may be a joke and if it is the joke's on the poster. If it isn't, this may be the only place a desperate person feels comfortable communicating. Just my thoughts.

by Anonymousreply 27July 4, 2011 9:39 PM

The *kisses doll* thread.

by Anonymousreply 28July 4, 2011 9:45 PM

R27- here you go. The hat man is first mentioned in reply 99, and then discussed throughout the entire thread. There are also outside links to other hat man websites posted in the thread. %0D %0D **Would not read after dark**

by Anonymousreply 29July 4, 2011 9:53 PM

+1 with r28.%0D %0D When you've been around the DL as long as have been ( I know. In and itself, that's creepy) you develop an editor's skill at avoiding threads that you know exceed your creepiness capacity.%0D %0D "The little girl next door" thread, however, that r28 alludes to was very skillful. It was spooky, but without an air of crime.%0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 30July 4, 2011 9:58 PM

I posted "Shitbra" above, but seriously, the creepiest thread was the one where someone posted on the morning of Osama Bin Ladin's death something like, "Isn't it about time a major world-shaking event happened?" Then that evening it did.

by Anonymousreply 31July 4, 2011 10:03 PM

Thanks for the links to Hat man and ghost threads. Is it possible someone could post the little girl next door thread? Thanks.

queens saying how sorry they were to hear and sending imaginary flowers%0D %0D That's a frau thing, not a queen thing.%0D %0D Fraus also send {{{{hugs}}}}

by Anonymousreply 35July 5, 2011 3:20 AM

R7, I posted in a psychic thread here about a psychic telling me my sister was going to be murdered by her bf. %0D %0D I have (had, actually) 2 sisters. I warned one and not the other.%0D %0D The youngest sister was murdered one year later, exactly as predicted.%0D %0D Is that the creepy story to which you refer?%0D

by Anonymousreply 36July 5, 2011 3:32 AM

Forgot to say that the sister I didn't bother warning, was the sister who was murdered.%0D %0D I thought she had her shit together.%0D %0D I was wrong.

by Anonymousreply 37July 5, 2011 3:35 AM

Damn, R37.

by Anonymousreply 38July 5, 2011 3:43 AM

Why did you hate your dead sister, R36/R37?

by Anonymousreply 39July 5, 2011 3:53 AM

R39, I didn't hate my dead sister. I thought she was smart enough to choose a decent bf. She was the sister with common sense.%0D %0D %0D The sister I warned was a promiscuous pub crawler.%0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 40July 5, 2011 3:56 AM
... someone posted on the morning of Osama Bin Ladin's death something like, "Isn't it about time a major world-shaking event happened?" Then that evening it did.

That was fucking weird. And as far as I remember, the OP never did come back to the thread later to tell us how the fuck he knew something was about to happen. Creepy!

by Anonymousreply 41July 5, 2011 4:14 AM

I hate all the threads linking to news stories about abused and murdered kids. I'm not even a parent, but I can't stand reading about little kids being treated like garbage. That one about the boy who was chained up and kept in a cage and no one even noticed he was missing for 2 years until his remains were found was heartbreaking.

by Anonymousreply 42July 5, 2011 6:43 AM

The threads about Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki in which a deranged poster flies into a rage and posts all sorts of insane rants because someone has asked a question about J & J.

by Anonymousreply 43July 5, 2011 7:01 AM

The Mr. Hands thread, the guy who died after a horse fucked him.

I think he was a scientist or engineer. Guess his horse obsession flew in the face of any logic. Ya think?!

by Anonymousreply 44July 5, 2011 7:02 AM

I remember being so upset the first time I unexpectedly happened upon tub girl.

by Anonymousreply 45July 5, 2011 7:06 AM

The creepiest threads to me are the genuine female-bashing, woman-hating men who think this board is designed for gay men ONLY. I hope I NEVER meet any of you in person, truly frightening how someone can discount an entire female population. This is a board for ALL who wish to contribute, as long as they are gay-supportive and have some gossip, news or pointless bitchery to share.

by Anonymousreply 46July 5, 2011 7:10 AM

Who knew my Hat Man story would freak someone out so bad?

I was telling this story at a party recently and freaked some people out. It freaks me out still, but since I haven't seen him again I'm not too worried. I honestly think he had something to do with the goings on in that house though.

by Anonymousreply 47July 5, 2011 7:37 AM
I hate all the threads linking to news stories about abused and murdered kids.

Same here. I wish we had a "block thread" feature because just reading the thread titles makes me sad.

by Anonymousreply 48July 5, 2011 8:07 AM

I'm always creeped out by threads salivating over various incestuous scenarios. It's creepy how many people here think bonking your relatives is normal behavior, and call out those who are icked by it as 'sex-negative'. Even animals know not to mate with relatives when there are other options.

Also creeped out by the child and animal abuse threads.

by Anonymousreply 49July 5, 2011 9:24 AM

R41 wrote, regarding the Osama bin Ladin posting: "That was fucking weird. And as far as I remember, the OP never did come back to the thread later to tell us how the fuck he knew something was about to happen. Creepy!"

Why DL of all places?

by Anonymousreply 50July 5, 2011 12:25 PM

R50, maybe it's the ultimate DL fantasy come to life and one of the SEALS is gay AND a DL'er.

by Anonymousreply 51July 5, 2011 1:01 PM

The thread/s about the "6in the City" blogger.%0D %0D Granted woman who was the subject of the thread is laughable and ridiculous, but somehow her "privilege" of having a modest rented apartment, of not working, and of having a husband who worked for some vaguely hipsterish of the moment 12-person non-profit, and of liking cupcakes and Carrie Bradshaw affectations quickly dipped into scary depths.%0D %0D Why anyone's panties got in quite such an incensed bunch over a silly woman was beyond me. She seemed a most unlikely target for such extreme woman-hating, class warfare, and sabotage. Silly queens who, I'd venture, give nothing to charity, do no good works themselves, and have their own fucking problems, were advocating campaigns get "the frau's" husband fired and to embarrass him at his job -- all for having married a flippant, frivolous, but ultimately not the least dangerous woman who likes cupcakes and Darren Star.

by Anonymousreply 52July 5, 2011 1:56 PM

I tend to not read the creepy threads- it's like mental illness- deeply disturbing and you cannot do anything about it.%0D %0D But there are many threads that have a common theme that are upsetting- those that put down nationalities, women, groups of women, efeminate men, immigrants (those that put donw the illegal immigrants tend to find fault with all immigrants, older people, Jews, people of color etc. The whole frau thing is really kind of disgusting. It is like there is an almost inate tendency for people to have to find a group to dehumanize and/or be better than. When you call them out, or argue- you are sniped at- personally. It's very discouraging, although it does not creep me out. %0D %0D I realize there is a fine line between poking fun (and being funny) and really putting down. I think I can tell the difference.

by Anonymousreply 53July 5, 2011 2:07 PM

Agree with the frau bashing. It reached a peak last summer but thankfully has calmed down to a dull roar recently. It was probably just one very sick person whipping everyone to a frenzy---like Hitler. Maybe he's now in a mental ward or prison with no internet access.

by Anonymousreply 54July 5, 2011 2:13 PM

Agree with most above, especially the animal / child torture threads.

On a less serious note - I'm kinda creeped out by the 'Men With Womanly Butts' threads. In general, I don't share DL's fascination with huge male asses, especially womanly ones.

by Anonymousreply 55July 5, 2011 2:20 PM

The monkey using the frog.... Sexually. I wish I could erase it from my memory.

by Anonymousreply 56July 5, 2011 2:31 PM

Not exactly creepy, but the type I hate are the scatological ones. I admit to being squeamish about certain bodily functions and don't want to read about them more than is necessary.

by Anonymousreply 57July 5, 2011 9:31 PM

There was a thread about snuff films. That's where I learned about the Mr. Hands video that r44 mentioned. That, and the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs... (look it up on Wikipedia)%0D %0D %0D Chilling, indeed.%0D

by Anonymousreply 58July 7, 2011 6:30 AM

OMFG, do NOT look up the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs on Wikipedia, it's fucking horrible.

(A summary, so you don't need to look it up at all: In Russia in 2007 3 teenage boys, went on a month-long murder spree, killing 21 random, innocent people, usually with blunt objects to the head. There's also detailed description of animal torture and killings.)

Truly evil and disgusting, those motherfuckers deserve to be tortured to fucking DEATH!

by Anonymousreply 59July 7, 2011 11:31 AM

The most disturbing DL thread I've opened in a long time is the live Cam4 tweaker kid in Florida barebacking with CL strangers in a cheap motel room. It's a virtual snuff film. Images of that young tweaker are haunting.

by Anonymousreply 60July 7, 2011 10:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 61July 7, 2011 10:14 PM

THE CAFTANS!!!

by Anonymousreply 62July 7, 2011 10:15 PM

Bai Ling rocking a DL'er roof thread.

by Anonymousreply 63July 7, 2011 10:28 PM

The Anderson threads creep me out, because they seem to attract a mixture of local NY stalkers, rabid fans and hobby interpreters of celebrities' body language.

Threads about the murder and torture of humans and animals. Also threads that some mock as "The sky is falling!" which are about enviromental issues like bees dying or global warming.

Political threads where the opposing opinion is so deranged and delusional. The idea of potentially meeting people with that mindset creeps me out.

The thread of Obama making an announcement very shortly (which turned out to be that Osama Bin Laden is finally dead). Looking back now it might not be as creepy, but I remember how scared and exited I checked the thread's updates out (which included a great deal of hilarious suggestions what Obama is about to announce).

by Anonymousreply 64July 7, 2011 11:11 PM

The Jessie Slaughter thread, pure white trailer trash pandemonium. This was the 12-13(?) year old girl bragging online how she was taking drugs and getting fucked. 4Chan was involved somehow, how lovely!

This is what the Internet, reality TV and the media have caused: a ton of brain dead morons thinking they can become instantly famous for doing absolutely nothing of value. ugh

by Anonymousreply 65July 7, 2011 11:31 PM
The monkey using the frog.... Sexually. I wish I could erase it from my memory.

The Jani Lane thread was funny when written, but it was creepy after he died a few weeks later. He was just so fucked up. Even while reading the thread and learning about him being a raging alcoholic, it felt like he was on the verge of self destruction.

The Goddess Bunny? When did she die?

by Anonymousreply 71September 20, 2011 12:23 AM

The dude who keeps posting links to really young actors who look 12 like they're 12. The actors themselves are usually legal, but they sure don't look it. Fucking creepy that there's a pedo among us.

by Anonymousreply 72September 20, 2011 12:29 AM
R54: Agree with the frau bashing. It reached a peak last summer but thankfully has calmed down to a dull roar recently. It was probably just one very sick person whipping everyone to a frenzy---like Hitler.

Well, I've found the creepiest post on this thread. Equating the "frau bashing" power of a DL poster with Hitler is the mind of a true frau cunt in action.

by Anonymousreply 73September 20, 2011 12:41 AM

OK, I just looked up the Mr. Hands thing. I didn't watch the actual video because the warning scared me. The reaction videos on YT were enough... wow!

by Anonymousreply 74September 20, 2011 1:05 AM

R4, what about them bothered you?

by Anonymousreply 75September 20, 2011 1:14 AM

Any threads that doesn't mention cats.

by Anonymousreply 76September 20, 2011 1:15 AM

The you're not really gay unless you want to gleefully buttfuck Justin Biebler was probably the low point for me.

by Anonymousreply 77September 20, 2011 1:25 AM

The thread that posted the webpage where the couple with cerebral palsy or something like that were having sex. I remember they were in like slings on hospital beds. It was like someone had posed coma patients in sexual positions.

by Anonymousreply 78September 20, 2011 1:30 AM

R72, that guy gives me the heebie jeebies, too. I never expect it because he names some relatively unknown actor, but doesn't mention they look 12.

I really hated the secrets thread, too. There is some dark weird stuff in there!

by Anonymousreply 79September 20, 2011 1:34 AM

R79, is that thread still in existence?

by Anonymousreply 80September 20, 2011 1:38 AM

A year or two ago there was a thread about missing people that was kind of scary and sad.

by Anonymousreply 81September 20, 2011 1:51 AM

Anybody remember the thread where somebody said they were riding the subway in Washington DC late at night and found themselves alone in a subway car with a guy wearing a horse head mask? The guy didn't speak and was breathing heavily.

by Anonymousreply 82September 20, 2011 2:04 AM

R49, I am so sorry for your loss. Did you know the boyfriend who killed her, and if so, what kind of guy was he? Did you get a bad vibe from him?

by Anonymousreply 83September 20, 2011 2:07 AM
Also threads that some mock as "The sky is falling!" which are about enviromental issues like bees dying or global warming.

MARY!

Yeah, I'm sure they really distress you.

by Anonymousreply 84September 20, 2011 2:08 AM

I recall that post, R82. I wish I remembered what thread that was in.

by Anonymousreply 85September 20, 2011 2:09 AM

R83 here. Of course I know he was a monster, but I was just wondering if he seemed innocuous before your sister's murder, or if there were any subtle warning signs.

by Anonymousreply 86September 20, 2011 2:14 AM

Here's another question: what do you think is the most genuinely weird, disturbing, deranged poster you've seen on DL(even if anonymous)?

None come to mind for me, but I do know that some people here really do hate their families. The people who hate kids and the elderly seem pretty evil, too.

Then of course there's the miserable people who pounce on anyone who shows emotional vulnerability.

by Anonymousreply 87September 20, 2011 2:20 AM

What creeps me out on DL are the number of racist posts. I realize this is anonymous but that is what makes me think that people are still seriously into that shit.

by Anonymousreply 88September 20, 2011 2:32 AM

For the sake of convenience, I've isolated the morons in this thread. They are: r8, r16, r20, r23, r26, r49, r72, r77, r79

by Anonymousreply 89September 20, 2011 2:33 AM

82. that creeps me out just reading about it. I would have prepared to defend myself.

by Anonymousreply 90September 20, 2011 2:33 AM

R88 = lives in the suburbs.

by Anonymousreply 91September 20, 2011 2:35 AM

What also creeps me out are the number of people who seem not to value aging and are about two steps from suicide.

They seem so sad and desperate.

I am all the more proud of my parents for bringing me up to respect myself and look forward to being a mature man.

by Anonymousreply 92September 20, 2011 2:38 AM

What about people who lie about racism? DL is full of that, r90. Is that "creepy."

by Anonymousreply 93September 20, 2011 2:38 AM

89 - how do you reference other posts like that? I have been able to figure it out.

by Anonymousreply 94September 20, 2011 2:40 AM

93 racism is not funny, and it is so prevalent that I cannot help but think that there is truth behind it.

by Anonymousreply 95September 20, 2011 2:42 AM

R80, I don't remember the title of it. Someone pointed out if you troller one poster, he is revealed as the worst person ever! He was closeted and racist, and picked on other posters through the thread.

by Anonymousreply 96September 20, 2011 2:43 AM

r94, just type "r" and the number and it creates a link.

by Anonymousreply 97September 20, 2011 2:44 AM

Graphic bear maulings with pictures are the creepiest.

The everyday, subtle to obvious freepster plants are also unsettling. I'm lookin' at you, trollie.

by Anonymousreply 98September 20, 2011 2:45 AM

r97 Gracias.

by Anonymousreply 99September 20, 2011 2:47 AM

Oops, that should say troll-dar, not "troller".

by Anonymousreply 100September 20, 2011 2:50 AM

The what is your secret thread is pretty creepy, but also very enlightening.

The guy who was waiting for him parents to die so that he could commit suicide was the the worst. Geez, commit yourself to a psych ward while your parents are alive.

by Anonymousreply 101September 20, 2011 2:54 AM

The self pity threads.

by Anonymousreply 102September 20, 2011 5:27 AM

I know that DL is about the media and celebrities, but what creeps me out are the who gay men are paying attention to. We are supposed to be cultural leaders, so get your heads out of the Kardashian's asses.

by Anonymousreply 103September 20, 2011 1:07 PM
so get your heads out of the Kardashian's asses.

Can we keep Rob's? Please? Pretty please, with a cherry on top?

by Anonymousreply 104September 20, 2011 8:52 PM

The occasional glory hole thread. It has to be fantasy... right?

by Anonymousreply 105September 20, 2011 9:21 PM

The Gia threads are incredibly creepy and disturbing, and I am further creeped out by the fact that no one has mentioned this in over 100 posts about the creepiest threads.

In my view, the subject matter is wildly inappropriate at best and illegal at worst. No child deserves that.

It bothers me that anyone would start that kind of thread; that others would engage in those threads; and worst of all, that no one running this place shuts them down and deletes them when they appear.

by Anonymousreply 106September 20, 2011 9:30 PM

Any thread with an incest theme I wholeheartedly avoid.

by Anonymousreply 107September 20, 2011 9:33 PM

The Rob Kardashian ass troll is creepy. So is R89 because he has poor judgment.

by Anonymousreply 108September 21, 2011 1:50 AM

Not neccessarily a thread, but whenever that anti-circumcision "mutilated" troll pops up in threads it's kind of creepy. What a fucking weirdo.

by Anonymousreply 109September 21, 2011 1:53 AM

I remember one time a DLer become enraged when I shared gossip somebody had written elsewhere about having allegedly seen Alec Baldwin beating Kim Basinger. I'm not going to share the whole thing again, but as odd as it sounds that the person said he did this not completely out of the view of other people, I believed the particular anecdote.

This poster became hysterical about how I could say such horribly slanderous things about Alec Baldwin. Get over it, celebrity worshiping moron. Most celebrities are assholes.

by Anonymousreply 110September 21, 2011 1:59 AM

The "Ryan Seacrest Is A Pussy" troll is a sophomoric lamebrain. Any grown man who goes around calling other men "pussy" needs to grow a pair.

by Anonymousreply 111September 21, 2011 2:57 AM

What's this about glory hole threads being creepy? And incest fantasy? And any talk of intergenerational contact, including legal contact between consenting adults of varied ages?

Apparently we're at the point where gay sex threads are just too creepy for the DL populace, who want gay people to be straight people, except better, cleaner, nicer, funnier, and more ethical, to make for their being richer and more educated and freer (one assumes). Plus, of course, you know, gay sex is creepy. Right?

But don't stand up for being gay, or a shit like R20 will find a way to snark back. It's all-purpose, non-stop, freeperville on this thread.

When I was growing up I asked a 13 year old who made it his business to regularly orally service the firemen at the neighborhood firehouse (Sidney Street, St. Louis) why the hell he did such a thing. He said they were nice to him and he liked to suck dick. Pretty pathetic and creepy, I'd say. Here's to America's heroes, ladies. Start a thread about it.

by Anonymousreply 112September 21, 2011 2:59 AM

R111=That pussy Ryan Seacrest

by Anonymousreply 113September 21, 2011 3:02 AM

r113 has an obsession with sexually active physically handicapped people, pedophiles, pussies, and hot top men who lust for Robbie Kardashian's perfect ass.

by Anonymousreply 114September 21, 2011 3:22 AM
hot top men who lust for Robbie Kardashian's perfect ass.

Definitely NOT R111.

by Anonymousreply 115September 21, 2011 3:25 AM

I can't stand people who use the word "creepy" for anything other than its traditional use. It's especially annoying when frigid dimwits use it for any sexual situation that's not to their narrow taste.

by Anonymousreply 116September 21, 2011 3:33 AM

R112 has more issues than a newsstand.

by Anonymousreply 119September 21, 2011 4:23 AM

It was probably the Alec Baldwin fangurl, r110. She became enraged at me as well when I mentioned on a separate thread that I no longer find Alec Baldwin attractive. She hysterically told me that I "didn't deserve to live."

by Anonymousreply 120September 21, 2011 4:32 AM

Wow, R120. There are some weird and stupid people out there. I'd call that creepy.

by Anonymousreply 121September 21, 2011 4:39 AM

The Coopie trolls are worse. They obsess about everything. Dig this Coopie trolls - he doesn't care about us. He'd have come out by now if he did.

Any thread about how evil, bad, uncivilized, lazy, stupid ,or nasty minorities are, especially the restaurant threads.

I've just learned to avoid those threads because they invariably turn into an ugly and frightening display of how ignorant and bigoted some DL posters are.

by Anonymousreply 126September 21, 2011 1:34 PM

Apparently you've never worked in a restaurant, R126. Most of us were like you in the past.

by Anonymousreply 127September 21, 2011 8:30 PM

r127 - while I am certain that you have worked with nasty people, was it really because of their race or ethnic background, or because of who they are as individuals.

Maybe, poor uneducated people who are stuck in menial positions for the rest of eternity are unpleasant because of their situation, regardless of their race.

Case in point, workers at any Kroger grocery store.

by Anonymousreply 128September 21, 2011 9:17 PM

I've learned to just scroll past any threads that mention relative-on-relative sex, child or animal abuse, or that have the earmarks of being freeper troll-initiated. Disgusting, depressing and a waste of time.

by Anonymousreply 129September 21, 2011 9:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 130September 21, 2011 9:54 PM

R128, plenty of them weren't poor. Many other DLer's have attested to this. And it's very different from 'normal' abuse. Much worse.

by Anonymousreply 131September 21, 2011 10:09 PM

Creepiest - The Prancing Ponies. Think Anderson Cooper fans to the 10th power. And heaven forbid you mentioned any minor shortcoming of those those three [bold] very good movies [/bold] (See how reflexively I still try to get it past their censors?) They permeated almost every thread here and actively penetrated at least half the at their peak - a mercifully brief period.

They spoke in their own hobbit almost language, you'd have to be a regular reader of their threads to understand it. Half the posts on some threads, unrelated threads, were Ponies waving to EVIL PR WHO READ DATALOUNGE, shout outs to each other, posts they liked or didn't like based on events in the novels... you get the idea.

by Anonymousreply 132September 21, 2011 10:13 PM

r127 I don't know where you live but do not make the mistake of thinking it is representative of the whole country. I just wonder how someone can so easily post such bigoted comments without any consideration for who might happen to read it.

rude behavior is not genetic, but I think that is something you and I will just have to disagree on.

by Anonymousreply 133September 21, 2011 10:24 PM

Not rudeness, R133, outright HOSTILITY. Trying to get away with abuse.

by Anonymousreply 134September 21, 2011 10:27 PM

hostile and abusive behaviors are RUDE behaviors r134. I don't really think you get my point. I just know that as a minority myself it is hard to see those threads and I have learned to ignore them because of what they turn into which is basically an ugly display of blatant disrespect.

I am sorry if you've had hostile and abusive encounters with other minority groups, but I really think it's best that we just agree to disagree.

by Anonymousreply 136September 24, 2011 9:46 PM

R88, let me get this straight re. the "morons" you isolated in your thread list - so, basically every one of those people mentioned a distaste for the troll who posts about young-looking men - and you have a problem with that (oh, and with Olive Garden* too, clearly)?"

* Your nearly singular exception

by Anonymousreply 140September 24, 2011 11:38 PM

R140, I think you are creepy because I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about, methy.

& you think America's better? Have you been to Los Angeles or New York? It's a freak show.

by Anonymousreply 144September 25, 2011 5:13 AM

All right, I will spell it out for you. R88 listed a bunch of posts that he/she found "creepy", claiming that he/she had done DL a favour by isolating the morons for us.

I looked up the referenced posts, and almost every single post was someone saying that pedophiles and/or an obsession with the very-youthful was creepy. Needless to say, I agree with those so-called "moron" posters, rather than the very creepy R88.

Got it? R88 has a problem with people being uncomfortable with pedophilia, according to his/her list of posts. Except one post in R88's list, which was anti-Olive Garden. Ergo, R88 is close to being a pedophile-apologist and (also creepily) a fan of the Olive Garden.

by Anonymousreply 145September 25, 2011 11:18 AM

I beg your pardon - the creepy poster in question is R89 - not R88.

by Anonymousreply 146September 25, 2011 11:28 AM

R145 is correct. He really shouldn't have to explain this to anyone who can read.

by Anonymousreply 150January 11, 2012 9:07 PM

I was creeped out by all the threads about no-name actor Andrew Trischetta ala Triscuit.

He's under 18 and although the posts didn't have anything explicit to say per se, there was just a…..very weird, creepy factor to a half dozen or so gay men spending hours debating him.

ick.

by Anonymousreply 151January 11, 2012 9:30 PM

I think the "Curious world of Johnny Depp" thread is very creepy.

Actually, I think this is a pretty good place to get some help and advice.

by Anonymousreply 153January 11, 2012 10:18 PM

by Anonymousreply 155August 21, 2012 10:59 AM

by Anonymousreply 157August 21, 2012 3:19 PM

The artistic video of the guy with no arms masturbating was pretty unnerving.

by Anonymousreply 158August 21, 2012 3:21 PM

I think the rape fantasy threads are creepy. I've never opened one, but the thought of someone salivating about rape is pretty strange.

by Anonymousreply 159August 21, 2012 4:12 PM

r159, I agree. I had the same reaction to some of the nephew threads.

by Anonymousreply 160August 21, 2012 4:21 PM

The incest, chickenhawk, and suicide threads are creepy as hell. I guess some of them, or most of them, are just trolls trying to be obnoxious, but they're still atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 161August 21, 2012 4:25 PM

The day I learned about Ephebophilia on Datalounge. I only learned about it here. Was one of the creepiest moments of my life. Also, thankfully, when those old man / teenage boy love threads pop-up, they are always deleted.

by Anonymousreply 162August 21, 2012 4:52 PM

So I assume you weren't familiar with the work and life of Thomas Mann, Andre Gide, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Oscar Wilde, William Burroughs, Leonardo da Vinci or Plato/Socrates then, r162?

Not too interested in gay history and culture?

by Anonymousreply 163August 21, 2012 5:04 PM

Someone actually was stupid enough to post child porn here. It was a photo from the 70s of a couple of younger teen boys, naked and feeling each other up. The boys couldn't have been more than 13. I don't even think it got deleted, despite its being flagged by many. That was the creepiest Datalounge thread I'd seen.

by Anonymousreply 164August 21, 2012 5:09 PM

It was not only creepy for me, but sad. Perpetuating the stereotype that gay men love boys - or take advantage of boys. Something that gay men have had to fight for decades.

by Anonymousreply 165August 21, 2012 5:10 PM

r162/r165, what do you think the terms "Greek love" and "the love that dare not speak its name" referred too?

Here's a hint: it's not two 40-year-old men raising a little adopted Asian girl (not that there's anything wrong with that).

And here's a tip: No matter what you do or say, Anita Bryant will never love you.

by Anonymousreply 166August 21, 2012 5:30 PM

R166, R163 you are into boys. I'm not. Have fun. Take care.

by Anonymousreply 167August 21, 2012 5:38 PM

Probably police R164, that's who probably starts all those threads.

by Anonymousreply 168August 21, 2012 5:57 PM

R168, isn't any wonder with R166 and R163 around? They have good reasons to obviously.

by Anonymousreply 169August 21, 2012 6:01 PM

R168, I just heard of another cop on an anti-pedo task force getting busted for being a pedo. It's like firefighters who are arsonists.

by Anonymousreply 173August 22, 2012 6:52 AM

Not necessarily creeped out but ASTOUNDED there are 7 continuing threads devoted to the ass of some scrawny boy bander. I saw One Direction on SNL and I didn't see any ass worth remembering. Skinny twinks in too tight jeans with saggy backsides. Pass.

by Anonymousreply 174August 22, 2012 7:30 AM

If it makes you feel any better, R174, every time I see that thread titled "The Ass of Louis Tomlinson" I misread it as "The Ass of Lily Tomlin."

Every damned time.

I try to be open minded about what other people find sexy, and I do think she's a funny lady, but I am always really confused for a split second until I realize it's not about The Incredible Shrinking Woman.

When DL killed Rue McClanahan, someone else, and now Phyllis Diller.

by Anonymousreply 177August 22, 2012 9:21 AM

It's a long time ago now but that bitch that used to STALK all the Jake Gyllenhaal threads a few years ago, being the one voice that would rant on and on about how deluded anyone was for thinking he was gay, using really sophisticated literary language and turn of phrase.

This cunt spread its tentacles further afield than here though, actually getting so savage in its defense of his 'heterosexuality' it would threaten to slit throats. It appeared to have a weird fixation with his father as well.

Just really cryptic and weird and over the top. That was one of the weirdest things just because that level of anger seemed so misguided on the grand scale of things. Every tiny thread, it would be straight in there, screaming blue murder at anyone. It showed up on Towleroad, blogs, here, gay websites, straight websites, imdb.

Real bizarre.

by Anonymousreply 178August 22, 2012 10:20 AM

I find the whole idea of trolling just stranger and stranger. At best, it's incredibly juvenile. But you know by the posts, interests, etc., some trolls are no where near young. Obviously the internet is one of the few places they can "interact" with others because they are shunned in real life. It's creepy to me that trolls are proud of this creepy behavior-- as if it makes them clever.

by Anonymousreply 179August 22, 2012 10:47 AM

R178, That was Jake.

by Anonymousreply 180August 22, 2012 1:29 PM

R177, the DL also killed Gore Vidal and Helen Gurley Brown. They were mentioned in "who's next?" threads about 2 weeks before their deaths.

by Anonymousreply 181August 22, 2012 1:38 PM

I still want to know about the *kisses doll* thread. Can someone explain what that was all about?

by Anonymousreply 182August 22, 2012 1:59 PM

*Kisses Doll* was about some strange little girl who carried a doll. She would say bizarre things then kiss her doll after saying them. Like something from a horror movie. ------------ ""Thru the darkness of Future Past the magician longs to see one chants out between two worlds. Fire - walk with me." *Kisses Doll*

by Anonymousreply 183August 22, 2012 2:07 PM

Thanks R183. Sounds more funny weird than creepy, though.

All Unsolved Mysteries threads creep me out but in a kind of exciting, "goosebumpy" way. It's been on threads like these that I've come across some of the scariest and most disturbing of actual unsolved cases: the 'Keddie' cabin murders in the California woods; the disappearance of the Springfield Three (the mother, her daughter, and her daughter's best friend who disappeared from the mother's home in Missouri on the daughter's and friend's graduation night, never to be heard from again); the "Who put Bella in the wych-elm?" mystery that has been ongoing for decades in Northern England; etc.

Some of those cases have creeped me out so much when I read about them late at night on wikipedia (after being directed to them from DL) I couldn't get to sleep at night!

Yeah, I remember the 6 in the City blog. That was so sad. She wanted to have a glamorous life so bad and she was trying to find joy in that small apartment. Turns out, her husband's brother needed a liver transplant and another brother donated half of his and both brothers died. The family ended up moving, I think.

The whole thing was very sad, and attacking her for being a frau who wanted to have fun in NYC was something Paris Hilton would do. Just beneath anybody of class.
