Oh, I used to work with an actress who was a pathological liar. She's not really famous (sorry) but her name is Susan Ward and she was a soap star in the 90s and then became a men's magazine model and did a few junky B movies and some TV work. She was a piece of work.
She first got famous on a soap, playing a very virginal, girl next door character. She continually lied to promote a fake image, telling interviewers she didn't drink, hated smoking and parties, was devoted to animals and her pets, had no interest in fame, and was so modest she was uncomfortable being nude in front of her own longtime boyfriend, who she planned to marry and move to Montana with.
During a break from filming she had breast implant surgery (from like an A to a DD) without telling anyone on the show, because she wanted to escape being "stuck on a stupid soap" and become a movie star. Then she slept with some producer whose dad owned a movie studio, and he cast her in a low budget 'erotic thriller' playing the sexy bad girl. To promote the movie she posed nude or nearly nude for every men's magazine out there and did a 180 image change. Overnight she went from pretending to be a goody two shoes homebody to partying constantly and spending every interview talking about her wild sexual exploits and love of hard drinking. She also got rid of her pets, who she'd spent four years claiming were her most special, precious babies who she lived for and she'd die if they were ever parted.
She cheated on her longterm partner/fiancé with the movie studio owner's son, carried on a secret affair with him during the location shoot, but did 'lovey dovey couple' interviews with her fiancé when he visited her. Then dumped him, started openly dating the rich guy, then a year later gave an interview about their relationship where she revealed they'd been together for two years and went into detail of how they fell in love on the set of his dad's movie and how romantic it was, ignoring the fact that during the entire time she was filming that movie and for 6 months afterwards she was not only engaged to another man but was flogging that relationship to the press. When people called her out for basically admitting to cheating and lying, she threw a tantrum and demanded any photos of her and her ex-fiancé, and any interview they did together or where she talked about him, were to be removed from the internet. Like she could pretend he'd never existed.
She regularly had her manager/publicist/best friend send out press releases announcing things that turned out not to be true, or wildly exaggerated, like saying she was going to be on a cover of a magazine when it was a half page article. The best was the press release announcing, "Last night Susan Ward attended the Grammy Awards and the MTV afterparty where she had a great time partying with celebs Madonna and Kid Rock, both of whom confessed to being Susan Ward fans!!" (ACTUAL PRESS RELEASE.) Weird enough, but later she was forced to admit that she hadn't even attended the Grammys or any of the parties in the first place!
Her biggest whopper, she claimed that when she was 13, a model scout for saw her in a mall and asked her to move to NY to model for Elite, so at age 13 she dropped out of school, moved from Louisiana to NY all by herself (without any parent or guardian) and had to find her own place to live, so she looked in the newspaper and instantly found a room sharing an apartment with a group of adults who were all famous and rich and fabulous. Model agencies do bring young potential models to live in NY but they always live in the model apartments the agencies own, where they can be supervised. And finding roommates via a newspaper ad! Can you imagine putting an ad in a paper looking for a roommate, and a 13 year old kid answers? She fluctuated between claiming she left school and claiming she flew back to Louisiana any time she had to sit exams and graduated despite never attending any classes. There is not a jot of evidence she was ever a teen model, not a single photo, and several of her old high school teachers and other kids said it was news to them because she was living in LA and attending high school every day.
Then she accompanied a friend to an acting class and "just knew" she was destined to be a great actress, and instantly landed a starring role on a soap (actually she had a recurring under 5 part as a waitress) then moved to LA, she can't keep that story straight. Sometimes she claims she went home and enrolled in college, but knew she wanted to act so quit school and moved to LA on a whim where she lived hand-to-mouth for months with her only possessions an air mattress and an alarm clock. Sometimes she claims Aaron Spelling saw her on the NY soap and was so impressed with her delivery of 'would you like a coke with that' he flew her to LA at his expense to audition for his new show and voilà TV star.
