Sex in the Middle East

[quote]This is all interesting. I wish somebody would start a thread for sharing encounters with men while traveling in the Middle East. Your wish has been granted. Let us see if anyone posts. I have a few of my own stories and will get around to them after my coffee.

by Anonymousreply 24906/29/2015

You must remember that men and women are kept separate prior to marriage and hospitality is the rule in Muslim countries. You are OFTEN thrown into bed with other men when traveling. 2 horny men in bed and sometimes something happens.

by Anonymousreply 506/20/2011

25 years ago I was based in Saudi Arabia and wow, what an education.

Men walk hand in hand in public. It just means they are friends. Remember, this was 25 years ago. There are some American cities... okay MOST American cities even today, where you wouldn't dare walk in public holding another mans hand.

I met a Prince (okay you can't swing a cat there without hitting a Prince) and developed a relationship together. This included sex. Wonderful sex. Hot, passionate, sweaty sex. When I mentioned something one day about him being gay, he got really pissed off and denied being gay. I wasn't going to argue with him. After all, who else was he going to have sex with? If he got caught having sex with a woman without being married, he ran the risk of prison, or worse.

Oddly, having sex with a man is no big deal, unless you're bottoming, which is seen as somehow being undesirable or effeminate.

When I was out shopping, I learned that I'd get a better price by openly flirting with the shopkeep, who was always male. Sometimes, guys would walk up to me in the market and ask to take me to dinner. It was kind of weird so I never did it, but was flattered.

by Anonymousreply 806/20/2011

Sounds like a slutty bottom's paradise. I'm booking plane tickets now!

by Anonymousreply 906/20/2011

Correction I don't think there's one adult Muslim/Arab man who hasn't had some kind of sex with another male at least once (most likely more) in his life. The repercussions of having sex with a female are so awful (especially for the girl/woman)it's no wonder homosex is the norm. What a fucked up people.

by Anonymousreply 1106/20/2011

Tokyo Joe, did your sex with the prince include kissing?%0D %0D Also, are you now, or have you ever been, a CIA employee?

by Anonymousreply 1206/21/2011

Will they think my caftan is a burqua?

by Anonymousreply 1306/21/2011

BTW...the UAE shut Grinder down a couple of months after my trip. Not sure how they technically managed that but I read about it afterwards.

by Anonymousreply 1506/21/2011

Male friends showing open affection for each other, such as holding hands, walking arm in arm, or arms around each other's shoulders, is common in half of the world. It is seen all throughout Asia, the Middle East, India, and some of Africa. This can get confusing for some of us... some of us may get signals crossed.

by Anonymousreply 1606/21/2011

Men also walked arm in arm and hung all over each other in Armenia, at least in the late 80s. I would think they still do today, but I can't vouch for that.

by Anonymousreply 1706/21/2011

I sucked a lot of dick in Dubai many years ago, but it was mostly white western dick. I trolled the hotels and beach clubs.

by Anonymousreply 2106/21/2011

I always believed being gay was nature Vs nurture, but having lived in the GCC for 5 years now, I can not believe how many "men that have sex with men" there are. It does have a lot to do with keeping men an women separated for most social events. My Qatari buddies tell me about the "mentor" program that happens during that special time when you are discovering your self and your urges, your family introduce you to a buddy to hang with, usually he is a couple of years older and you are his to do what he please with, once he reaches his early twenties he gets married ( usually to his first cousin) and you then mentor some other dude. Also I am convinced that the entire country of Lebanon sucks cock.

Society is quite homo erotic, as a single man I am not allowed to share a home with a woman, hanging out with all men is not considered odd, sharing hotel rooms with men is cool, in some place if you share with a woman you need a marriage certificate

Plenty of Lesbo's here as well.

by Anonymousreply 2206/21/2011

GCC? Sorry for being naive.

by Anonymousreply 2306/21/2011

Gulf Coast Countries? (As in Persian Gulf?)

by Anonymousreply 2706/21/2011

Having sex in a hammam will get you shown the door.

by Anonymousreply 2806/21/2011

No it won't R28. It happens all the time.

by Anonymousreply 2906/21/2011

R12-%0D Yes, our sex included just about anything you can imagine, including kissing. I know where you're going with your question though. %0D

by Anonymousreply 3006/21/2011

"No it won't [R28]. It happens all the time." In Turkey, some of the hammams are literally gay bathhouses. One that I went to was all working-class turks looking to bareback tourists. Crazy.

by Anonymousreply 3106/21/2011

[quote]One that I went to was all working-class turks looking to bareback tourists

Names and addresses, please!

by Anonymousreply 3206/21/2011

I don't know if R32 was joking but R31, could you seriously let us know which one you went to that was..."welcoming"? I've considered a vacation to Istanbul and looked into the hammams.

by Anonymousreply 3306/21/2011

No I wasnt kidding. And some of the hammams don't even have names. I was lucky enough to have a guide who was in the "know."

If you want, go to Squirt.org, get a username and password and under cruising choose Europe, Turkey. It lists the places along with directions.

by Anonymousreply 3406/21/2011

OP, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for granting my wish. How very kind!!!

by Anonymousreply 3506/21/2011

A former friend of mine used to fly to Dubai at least once a month for business. He claimed that he had never had as many hook ups as there (mostly other Westerners) since everyone was on their smart phones and laptops arranging for sex. According to him, it wasn't uncommon to just sit at a bar and get instant messages from other patrons looking for sex. Lebanon is also very gay. I think there was even an international Mr Bear contest there a couple of years ago. And, yes, it's easy to negotiate a happy ending on a massage table in some Istanbul hammams.

by Anonymousreply 3606/21/2011

[quote] was in Abu Dhabi a few months back (remember the thread about buying a persian rug?). %0D %0D Don't leave us hanging with this bit of info. Did you get a rug? Size? Did you get it at a good price?

by Anonymousreply 3706/21/2011

Fwiw...%0D %0D A long time ago I had a hot, hot affair with a Turkish TA at the school where I work. He could suck the chrome off a hubcap, and was in DL terms "a voracious bottom." Adorable, funny, and very bright. One more thing.%0D %0D He was not, repeat, not "gay." He was a devout Muslim, prayed 5 times a day, and told me that his family would eventually chose a wife for him. They did. The relationship was a "don't ask, don't tell" sort of affair since it made no sense to me how a guy that good in bed could (or would)be married.%0D %0D And yes about the Lebanese. Major flirts, and they love to give head (and get it). Again, they are NOT gay, lol. One Lebanese guy told me a long time ago "it's just something I do." Right.

by Anonymousreply 3806/21/2011

r8, just by some chance, do you live in New Brunswick, Canada?

by Anonymousreply 3906/21/2011

r28 = a Muslim who is tormented about surfing Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 4006/21/2011

Well. in truth, it is the West that is all hung up about labels and categorizing people. What the hell is "gay"? I have had many friends accuse me of not being "properly" gay because I can't stand Steisand, have never seen the Wizard of Oz, love Everybody Loves Raymond, and hate to shop for clothes. But I luvs me some men.

by Anonymousreply 4106/21/2011

Wow, this really puts those "gay-free zones" in London into perspective.

Fascinating thread.

by Anonymousreply 4206/21/2011

I said this in the Morocco thread, like r38's guy most Muslims are devout and obedient, which means they are wild sluts behind closed doors. I think a Muslim boyfriend would be ideal, but then you have to deal with the identity issues.

by Anonymousreply 4306/21/2011

A Muslim boyfriend would not be ideal however a Muslim fuck buddy would be absolute heaven!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 4406/21/2011

Mmmm, Ricky martin in hammams. I got the vapors!

by Anonymousreply 4606/21/2011

If there were no STD's I'd totally be at a hamman now with Turkish dick in my ass and mouth.

by Anonymousreply 4706/21/2011

im a filipino and i know for a fact that middle eastern guys pursue us filipino , gays or str8, like crazy. but its dangerous as well as i know of a few who got kidnapped and raped.

by Anonymousreply 5006/21/2011

Gay Arab here, lived in the middle east through my teens and early twenties, now live in England.

Although there is a lot of intimacy between Arab men, having sexual contact together is ver hard and fraught with risk.

Which is why Most homosexual Arab men prefer to trawl for gay westerners, who are the discreet NSA option to act on their urges.

by Anonymousreply 5106/22/2011

r51 part of the Middle East are you from r51?

by Anonymousreply 5206/22/2011

[quote]I always believed being gay was nature Vs nurture,

Huh?

by Anonymousreply 5306/22/2011

I've never been to the region, but I did work as an escort for an agency with a lot of Arab clients while I was in college in the 90's. The average Middle Eastern business men tended to be very timid, nervous yet extremely aroused and quick to climax, often only from frottage. Almost all of them insisted we both wash our junk with soap, hot water and a washcloth prior to any activity even though oral or anal activity hardly ever took place. The wealthy ones were hardcore. They didn't like to "pay" and preferred to give "gifts" for services. We were also never allowed to do overnights or leave the city with them and if they wanted a full day we had to call in every hour to ensure we were okay. Kidnapping was a big concern.

by Anonymousreply 5406/22/2011

r55 Is there even such a thing as "uncut Arab cock"? It's part of their religion (unless they were Christian).

by Anonymousreply 5606/22/2011

{R55} What a crock of bull. Most Arabs are Muslim and are cut! The vast majority of Christian Arabs go to France not Portugal for business or pleasure so I think your story is a flight of fantasy.

by Anonymousreply 5706/22/2011

[quote]often only from frottage I love frottage r54! If most Middle Eastern men like that, then damn, we'll get along just fine. I wonder why more men don't get off on that but I guess that's another thread.

by Anonymousreply 5806/22/2011

Sounds like a risky venture is unprotected sex is so common. What are the HIV rates?

by Anonymousreply 5906/22/2011

r55 has watched too much gay porn, where they usually substitute Hispanics for Arabs, forgetting (probably deliberately) that the vast majority of Arabs are cut.

by Anonymousreply 6006/22/2011

Arab or Latino?

by Anonymousreply 6106/22/2011

I firmly believe that the legend of Arab men having sex with each other all over the place in the Middle East is a myth generated by white Westerners, who have always demonized, feminized, and sexualized their dark and oh-so frightening Eastern counterparts.

by Anonymousreply 6206/22/2011

[quote]Ricky isn't a slut, he is a nice guy who didn't want to hurt his hosts' feelings by refusing to visit hammams in Istanbul and Bursa. Yes he is, Im sure he has had plenty of choice Arabian cock! He is also a nice guy.

by Anonymousreply 6306/22/2011

R62 'all over the place' not at all. In fact no one on this thread claimed that.

by Anonymousreply 6406/22/2011

Arabic dick all over the place

by Anonymousreply 6506/22/2011

It is primarily in Hamams and some private homes. It is not everywhere and it is not everyone.

It is a larger percentage of men because of the separation of the sexes.

by Anonymousreply 6606/23/2011

[quote]Wow, this really puts those "gay-free zones" in London into perspective.

What on earth does this mean?

by Anonymousreply 6706/23/2011

Here ya go, r67:

by Anonymousreply 6906/24/2011

I want to hear more about sex with soldiers in the Middle East.

by Anonymousreply 7006/24/2011

Bump for latent middle eastern homosexuality

by Anonymousreply 7106/25/2011

Soooooo many people on this thread think gay is just sex. It is not sex.

What about spooning while sleeping, watching movies curled up on the sofa, kissing and holding hand over dinner, talking about your emotional feelings for each other over wine and music? Gay is not sex, many men just want a sexual release and don't care if it happens with a female, male or camel.

Being Gay is different.

by Anonymousreply 7206/25/2011

I thought the title of this thread was "sex in the Middle East," not "gay in the Middle East," or "relationships in the Middle East," or any thing similar. I am R1 and I am surprised that no one wanted to know more about my summer with the Israeli soldier, but everyone has his/her own interests.

by Anonymousreply 7306/26/2011

r73, you didnt indicate that you had more to tell. Spare us no details!

by Anonymousreply 7406/26/2011

amir khan is hot but is he typical of pakimen?

by Anonymousreply 7806/27/2011

Pakman eats it all!

by Anonymousreply 7906/28/2011

more about sex with soldiers

by Anonymousreply 8106/29/2011

R1 here: Not sure if my experience is typical or not. Many American Jewish girls in my group that summer had fantasies (fetishes) about hooking up with an Israeli soldier, but only a couple did. The IDF soldiers were respectful. They could have gotten laid a lot more often than they did. Now back to me: My Israeli soldier was a cutie (of course). He was about to get out of the IDF and go to university either in Israel or possibly in the USA. He was a big flirt with me and other guys and girls. When we hooked up for the first time, it was mostly kissing and jacking off. We advanced to oral sex after a couple of sessions. We didn't fuck until nearly the end of the relationship, though I was willing to take this thick cock much sooner. I think he thought I was too young.

by Anonymousreply 8206/29/2011

Sexy sluts

by Anonymousreply 8307/01/2011

Bumping for Muslims who like cock, whether in Scandia or Syria.

by Anonymousreply 8407/22/2011

Any examples of gay harems?

by Anonymousreply 8508/21/2011

Of course men in the Middle East are very touchy-feely with each other while out in public.

All the women are at home covered in sheets in the basement like furniture until some 'male member' of the family comes home and uncovers them.

by Anonymousreply 8608/21/2011

You say that like it's a bad thing, R86.

by Anonymousreply 8708/21/2011

I onced worked in jeddah saudi arabia at a restaurant called herfy. I never find the place enjoyable because it's very different from the place I was from. I have always been a person that enjoys walking alone and i did that in jeddah. On my way going to baqallah there was a small quarter where a pakistani house caretaker stays, he saw me and gave me a whistle, he invited me to go inside. He let his bird out, hardened and thick and wanted me to blow it , but i didn't, I just ejaculated it. Another scenario was, I was left by our company service car so I had to ride TAxi and the taxi driver(pakistani) intentionally turn the cab into a silent place and he tried to fuck me, ut it didn't happen because there was a police car roaming and maybe he was afraid. One day as well, i went on jogging. When I passed by a certain house. Near the garage there was a young yemeni guy sitting ang watching his phone and called me to come, and he was watching porn. I smiled and he invited me to go inside the elevator and he tapped my ass and sticked his hardened penis beside me..till we get to the third floor, he removed my shorts and fucked my ass...whoooooooooohooo...that was too painful, i cant forget that. that was crazy. Another incident was when I was walking through the seashore, there was a car went near and a man in white came out and ask me..where are you going, i said just breathing fresh air.....then he invited me inside his car. I thought he will bring me to my villa but he brought me to his house and fucked me there...and i went home...that was too painful again. Aside from that..this was the most delicious. I was walking in a Filipino village and an arab inside his car saw me and stared at me with sharp eyes..then followed me by his car... he let me in..brought me in an internet cafe.. He stood beside the chair i was seated and he let me suck his dick and he cummed inside my mouth, then he left. After that, I transferred to another net cafe and a young boy maybe sixteen, was looking at me and wanted me to sit in his dick, omg...since, i didn't want...he just came near and stood beside my chair then put his dick inside my mouth, sticked it and cummed....and then I and he felt good....hahahahah..what a crazy experience....

by Anonymousreply 8811/11/2012

Is r88 Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? That is some intense syntax!

by Anonymousreply 8911/11/2012

[quote] in truth, it is the West that is all hung up about labels and categorizing people. What the hell is "gay"?

I hope you're kidding.

Surely you can see the difference between a culture that tolerates man to man sex only as long as it remains unmentionable (and treats women like chattel) vs a culture whose political leader recently said openly gay couples should have their commitments recognized legally the way straight couples do.

Do you really need someone to explain what 'gay' means?

by Anonymousreply 9011/11/2012

Is R89 waleed? extremely syntax error even for a question.

by Anonymousreply 9111/12/2012

I really hope for the most part that posters aren't making up any stories, as I (and I'm sure others here who have not gone to the Middle East) are truly curious.

My question is, where are the hotspots in these countries to find the rich guys? Got specific place names? Is there anyway you can go not to cruise, but to just meet someone who will talk and possibly have sex with later? Also do they just assume white guys are open to have male sex? lol

by Anonymousreply 9211/12/2012

You must follow the local mating rituals to get the homosex. A simple Yumm will not do.

by Anonymousreply 9311/12/2012

its true most of the ME men indulge in gay sex. Even students in a class fuck each other. And as for Pakimen, they are in the front row and they do it to their own relations i.e. incest, in border areas of pakistan and afghanistan. And sure they are very hot and horny while in action with each other.

by Anonymousreply 9411/25/2012

I once fucked an Egyptian guy in Cambridge, MA--his name was Muhammed. He was very hot--he worked at the Au Bon Pain that used to be in the Holyoke Center building. But he was very uptight about people he worked with (who at the time were all Egyptian) finding out he was gay.

by Anonymousreply 9511/25/2012

what about young boys? i hear that it was normal for the rich men to have young boys around them for who knows what!

by Anonymousreply 9611/25/2012

It's all about loopholes. You don't go against your family and religion when you refuse to call what you do gay or define it as gay.

A lot of closet cases from Western Civilization take the same approach (as long I don't define my hook ups with men as gay I am on the safe side and still be the masculine straight son, brother, friend, colleague for the outside world).

It's like self proclaimed virgins in Western Civilizsation who suck cock and get fucked in the ass. 'In the Eyes of God' they are still virgins even though they most likely have visited the free health clinic more than once treating some nasty STD.

by Anonymousreply 9711/25/2012

[quote]Good lord, some of you are sheltered. Displays of entirely platonic affection between two men, such as holding hands and/or walking arm in arm, are both commonplace and completely normal in most Arab countries as well as some Hindi ones.

It's so common, in much of Africa, to see grown men walking down the street holding hands. Very interesting to see the look of bewilderment in tourists or new expats when a friendly local grabs their hand or puts his arm around them.

by Anonymousreply 9911/25/2012

The Lebanese people do NOT do those things.

by Anonymousreply 10011/25/2012

I have seen personal videos of a guy living in the ME. He is American, lives there, is always the bottom. An eager cocksucker and can take it up the ass well. He needs to. The Arab is often, well hung, sometimes hairy, almost always well built. The Arabs are relentless is fucking him in the mouth and the same when they fuck. Usually the Arab and the American are completely naked. Some of the videos have more than one participant, the others in white robes on the side watching, commenting and copping feels of the guy getting fucked. You can see them jacking off under the white robes. Fucking a gay boy can be group sport

by Anonymousreply 10111/25/2012

How is the body odor?

by Anonymousreply 10211/25/2012

Mike from Shahs of Sunset is a hot fuck.

by Anonymousreply 10311/26/2012

R103? Agreed.

by Anonymousreply 10411/26/2012

.

by Anonymousreply 10511/26/2012

Wasn't there a PBS show a few years ago about men in Afghanistan having young boy lovers. They said they took turns with one boy in the back seat of a car. Surprising that the men agreed to admit it on camera. There was a DL thread about it.

I find Turkish men to be hot. If there weren't any STD's I'd take a sex vacation there, but from what I've read they all want bj's and to fuck without condoms.

by Anonymousreply 10611/26/2012

r98, the guy from Saint John, NB, Canada told me a similar story about his relationship with a Saudi Prince when he was working there as some sort of medic. He also told me about an eccentric princess who had a harem of gay boys as her followers - she was highly sexually charged, had breast implants and loved showing them off to admirers, consumed lots of gay porn, and carried around a gun. Fascinating stories of sex among men and adventurous women in the elite circles in a society that would jail or kill its lower-class citizens for indulging in similar behavior.

by Anonymousreply 10711/26/2012

R107, must be a different guy from NB.

See, I told you you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Saudi Prince!

The year after I left, there were a number of Canadian women nailed as collateral damage in a sting operation to capture illegal rum-runners. They showed up at a party uninvited. A guy I know who was dating a princess (yet didn't know she was) was basically blackmailed to help set the sting-party up to nail the liquor makers or go to prison. You can't make this shit up!

I remember being at a party in a house where you were locked IN the house, and the house had secret rooms behind false walls etc.

by Anonymousreply 10811/26/2012

Tokyo Joe, he also told me about tents set up to house 24-hour Studio-54-type parties - the tent even had a huge disco ball hanging from their centre. Drugs, sex, anything you could ask for was offered.

by Anonymousreply 10911/26/2012

R170 I suppose that is possible, though I never saw anything quite like that. It could also depend on what part of the country he was in.

I was in Jeddah, which was (30 years ago) more liberal than say, Riyadh . I had friends who lived in Riyadh for several years in the '90s and hated ever minute of it.

It seems that the "glory" days are over and a return to fundamentalism has occurred Kingdom-wide. I haven't been back since, but this is what I'm told from friends still there.

by Anonymousreply 11011/27/2012

How about Morocco?

by Anonymousreply 11112/01/2012

I was just in turkey recently and some turks are really flirty with me;P

by Anonymousreply 11212/01/2012

I would eat Amir Khan's asshole till the CAMELS came home.

Yum.

by Anonymousreply 11312/01/2012

[quote]Wasn't there a PBS show a few years ago about men in Afghanistan having young boy lovers. They said they took turns with one boy in the back seat of a car.

The Bacha Bazi of Afghanistan.

by Anonymousreply 11412/01/2012

I wish more Arab dudes were naturally smooth. I can't get with all that body hair.

by Anonymousreply 11512/01/2012

[quote]I would eat Amir Khan's asshole till the CAMELS came home.

Hell yes!

by Anonymousreply 11612/01/2012

R117, you mean Arab guys will be "gay" in their youth, then go hetero when they're old and unappealing?

Oh the horror!

by Anonymousreply 11812/02/2012

If this often happens because of the segregation of the sexes, it must happen with the women too. I am actually Arab, but was born and grew up in the West. I would love to know more about the gay sub-culture there, male and female, but especially female.

Problem is that I could never ask my Arab cousins, parents, or aunts and uncles, because they don't know im a lesbian. (I will come out to them eventually, but not until I have enough funds to move, so I don't have to spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder)

Anyway, stories of gay women in the middle easy would be appreciated, I've seen some movies (caramel, circumstance, the secrets) but would like to know more of the reality beyond that.

Even if the gay men here saw/heard things in passing during their m/m hookups.

by Anonymousreply 11912/02/2012

Like in the Western World it's men's social duty to marry and have one kid or more and provide for them. If he manages to have a mistress, a male lover, or anonymous hook-ups while still providing for his socially required family that's totally his own deal.

Of course, the women are screwed and supposed to go along with everything. They may negotiate private side deals with their husband about hooking up with someone else from time to time, but she's on her own when this becomes public knowledge by accident and she will most likey be stoned to death for it.

by Anonymousreply 12012/02/2012

Ive heard stories similar to r117, the men usually keep one teenaged boy, a lot of them Filipino, in their house for sexual pleasure. Im also curious about what the women do since the only time they have sex is to create children! What a strange society.

by Anonymousreply 12112/02/2012

I would love to keep a Pinoy in my house, love them Pinoy boys

by Anonymousreply 12212/02/2012

There are accounts of similar things in Native American culture. A feminine male might live in his own tent, adopt womanly ways, be part of yet apart from the tribe. Young men would visit the she/he for sex until they were of sufficient age to marry his own wife.

by Anonymousreply 12312/02/2012

Bacha bazi, the tradition of keeping young male "companions" in Iran.

by Anonymousreply 12412/02/2012

R124, that is so wrong and sick

by Anonymousreply 12512/08/2012

A former friend was a banker who used to travel to Dubai all the time, at least once a month, on business. He got laid there regularly. The whole setup was through instant messaging: you go to a bar or a club and guys would cruise each other using cell phones. This was all in the pre-Grindr, pre-sex app days. Apparently, prostitution (straight) was also rife there and was conducted in a similar manner.

by Anonymousreply 12612/08/2012

How about Pakistan?

by Anonymousreply 12712/10/2012

Pakistani dudes are so hot.

americans are so prudish and boring. the idea that men in others parts of the world can be open with their affection for fellow men is so great. it's so lame that women in america are promoted to be touchy feeling with other women, but men are shamed and even attacked for doing the same thing.

When my husband was deployed to Afghanistan, he had about 20 Afghani men who would come to the gate daily to see what kind of help was needed on base. Thursday's were a bit atypical- they referred to it as "Man Love Thursday" because that was the day you could have unrepentant sex (many within the culture view men for fucking and women for procreating) and then pray it away on Friday. There was one man, very timid and petite, who the soldiers started noticing was getting a lot of grief from the others. It turns out he would get raped every Thursday after his shift. My husband's commander would start sneaking him off post at varying times so he could get a head start and get away from the others.

Despite being strongly intolerant of gay and lesbian people, Pakistan leads in the world for the most Google searches for gay porn, according to a recent analysis of search terms.

The analysis, posted by Mother Jones, found that Pakistan was the world leader in searches for the terms “teen anal sex”, “man fucking man”, and “shemale sex”, and came in second only to Kenya for searches for “gay sex pics”.

The analysis went on to find that searches for the term “shemale sex”, were of a majority in the city of Peshwar, which is a conservative Islamic stronghold.

In a recent Pew Research Centre survey of 39 countries, which asked the question of whether society should “accept homosexuality”, in which the UK, the US and Western Europe answered mainly “yes”, only 2% of those in Pakistan said they thought the same.

Gay sex is currently illegal in Pakistan, and is punishable by lengthy jail terms. For “gross indecency between persons of the same sex”, someone in Pakistan could be sentenced to between 2 and 10 years in prison, and for “buggery”, life imprisonment can be applied.

“Religious extremism is at a height today,” said Farahnaz Ispahan, an expert in Pakistani minorities at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and a former member of Pakistan’s parliament.

Speaking to Mother Jones, he continued “Hindus are being forced to convert, Christians are being burned alive—there’s very little personal safety for those seen as ‘the other.’”

“So what do [gay Pakistanis] do? They turn to pornography because they can’t live their lives openly.”

A survey of porn search habits published in March revealed similar results, and that, in some of the countries with the most adamantly homophobic laws, the word gay comes up more often than countries without them.

Pakistan’s Gay Community Quietly Breaking Barriers by Ron Moreau, Sami Yousafzai Oct 30, 2013 5:45 AM EDT Actor Assad Khan is part of a generation of young men breaking barriers for gays in conservative Pakistan, where homosexuality is punished by prison or worse.

Assad Khan knew he was different from a very young age. As a child at home he preferred playing with his two sisters rather than his two brothers. At school, too, he gravitated toward playing with girls. “In school I was more secure and happy playing with girls than with boys,” says the 23-year-old, boyishly handsome Khan. As a result of his behavior, he says, his family largely ignored him. “I got a terrible complex as my family favored, and gave more attention to, my brothers,” he recalls. 131029-sami-pakistan-tease

As he grew up in Islamabad, reached puberty and realized he was gay, he suffered even more. “Being a gay in a society like Pakistan is not easy,” Khan says. “For a long time, I was frightened of who I was, so I hid my gay status…I acted 24 hours a day.”

Even so, he was constantly teased and harassed for his appearance and mannerisms, even ostracized. His parents and cousins made fun of him. His parents were ashamed to introduce him as part of the family. “At the mosque during Friday prayers I was teased and stared at,” he recalls. “At school and in college other students shunned me and my small circle of friends.”

Now a successful actor and fashion designer, Khan has lived and worked in the conservative and bomb-terrorized northwestern city of Peshawar for the past three years. “I felt that society was telling me I was not one of them, that I was not a proper person,” he says. “But soon I realized that it’s not my fault that God made me gay. So as a young man I came to accept who I was and to be proud of myself.”

He has flourished ever since he made that realization—succeeding against all the odds in homophobic Pakistan, where the powerful Muslim clergy preaches that homosexuality is prohibited under Islam, and where sodomy is illegal under the civil code and punishable by a long jail term (though the harsh sentence is rarely handed down). In the Taliban-controlled territory of the northwestern tribal agencies, the penalty is worse: death by firing squad or stoning. Even the man on the street seems to have no time for gays. A Pew Research Center survey of 39 countries published in early June found that only two percent of Pakistanis believed that “society should accept homosexuality,” second only to Nigeria, which registered a rock-bottom one percent acceptance rating of gays. (By way of comparison, 80 percent of Canadians said they accepted gays.)

While the Pakistani government doesn’t target LGBT citizens, neither does it have much tolerance for the gay community or its issues. Late last month and without comment, Islamabad shut down the country’s first and only gay website, queerpk.com, which was first launched last July. The website’s founder, who goes by the pseudonym Fakhir, says the ban is “unconstitutional and opposes freedom of speech.” But he does not want to pursue legal action as he doesn’t want a confrontation with the government, which could unmask those behind the website whose subtitle is “Know us, Don’t Hate Us.” Fakhir says the site is not “blasphemous or pornographic” but is aimed at educating gays on health issues such as preventing the spread of HIV, and on how to deal with social and family pressures and with depression.

Bucking discrimination, Khan, an ethnic Pashtun who goes by the nickname of Danny, studied fashion design at a college in Islamabad and quickly fell into the growing businesses of fashion, modeling and acting. His acting career got a big boost in 2009 when he was cast in a British film, called Kandahar Break: Fortress of War, which was being shot in Baluchistan, the wild-and-woolly home of his ultra-traditional Safi tribe in western Pakistan. He played a Taliban interpreter with gay tendencies who worked for a British explosive ordinance disposal team that Mullah Mohamm

What people have to realise about Middle Eastern culture is that it is clan/family-centered. When you get married you don't marry out of love, but because the marriage is beneficial to your community. There is no room for any kind of individualism.

Also 'keeping up appearances' and 'saving face' are big issues, asking a guy whether he's gay is insulting to him no matter what his orientation is. Even if you're gay, you must remain discreet and keep up a heterosexual facade, as long as you don't openly embarrass your family or clan.

You DO understand that it is a capital offense in a lot of Middle Eastern countries, right? You DO understand that if you go over there and start trolling for sex and get caught, that youre done for, right? Where is the outrage? Is that OK with everybody here? Some of you seem to think its rather amusing & a little exciting.

R189 Calm down. There are as much gays in the Middle East as there are everywhere else. It is not as open as it in the western world. But like here and there cities in some of the countries are more liberal in every issue, including gays. People drink, celebrate, work, have their everyday life like everywhere else.

That said, it is wrong, criminal what some of gays are dealing in the Middle East.

Be open minded, not every country, city, person is a stereotypical example of gay hate in the Middle East. It would be stupid to looking for hookups from wrong places, but there are places and men.

He doesn't speak English well but he tried to tell me he wanted sex with me. A few weeks later he sent me the pic of his cock and I must say, his muscles are huge and so is his cock.

I am not a gym rat though but he wanted me in his bed.

I have noticed that when a Middle Eastern bodybuilder uploads pics on his FB other Middle Eastern mem comment on the pic or don't comment at all but they use certains emoticons that suggest some sort of flirting to me...

You know, hearts, flowers and many times the emoticon with the tongue out that you would usually use to suggest sexual arousal in the West.

I don't speak any languages spoken in the Middle East so I can't genuinely interpret their usage of those emoticons...

by Anonymousreply 22912/29/2014

Always much better if the muslim guy is in the west so that you can have complete control of the situation.

by Anonymousreply 23001/01/2015

Instead of fighting constant wars with these people, we should befriend them and help them keep Arab society just as it is.

by Anonymousreply 23101/01/2015

The holding hands thing is a common, everyday symbol of friendship between two men in the Middle East, and does not signify a homosexual relationship. Even Prince al-Whateverhisname held hands with GW Bush on a visit to the U.S.

227, you state that gays are accepted in Pakistan, but isn't that a predominantly Muslim country, which would mean that gays would not be accepted?

by Anonymousreply 23201/01/2015

You know, pre-islamic Middle East was full of the most beautiful homosexual poems you could read.

That when peopel there more or less understood same sex love is normal and natural. Islam ruined it all after that.

I have read many stories about western gay men who have been explicitly approached by Middle Eastern men for sex, men who apparently live heterosexual lives, but hints of bisexuality seems to show all the time.

You never know what might be crossing their minds, they live is sadistic countries, especially sadistic to gay people.

I experienced somehting interesting recently.

I opened a profile on a popular dating site. I added some pics and also created a privated folder with two pics. Then I visited a Middle Eastern guy's profile. He is a muscular guy, very attractive if you like Middle Eastern men. His profile says he is heterosexual. A few days later I logged in and he left a message to me, he saud "hi". I replied and we kept chatting after that. I complimented him on his physique. I even used the word "sexy" several times. They guy received my words happily. Then I asked for morepics of me and then he asked for access to my private pics.

We never mentioned the word "gay" or anything about it the whole time, but this gave me a different view on Middle Eastern men and same-sex sexual interactions might be more common over there than anybody may think.
