Who Is The Worst Actor In Hollywood?

Name the complete nontalents who inexplicably keep getting hired.

by Anonymousreply 34705/27/2015

I think Brad Pitt sucks to a phenomenal degree.

by Anonymousreply 105/16/2011

McBongo. And Keanu.

by Anonymousreply 205/16/2011

Salma Hayek Pitt Keanu Winona Ryder

by Anonymousreply 305/16/2011

Ryan Phillipe

Zac Efron

Taylor Lautner

Robert Pattinson

Brad Pitt

Jake Gyllenhaal

Will Smith

Alex Pettyfer

by Anonymousreply 405/16/2011

Ashton Kutcher

by Anonymousreply 505/16/2011

Well, the reality is we probably don't know the worst actor because he's not getting hired for parts.

But the worst actor I can think of is Maurice Bernard, who is a soap actor (Sonny, GH; Nico, ex-AMC), and yet makes his costars look like award-winning stage and screen actors.

by Anonymousreply 605/16/2011

Nicolas Cage

by Anonymousreply 805/16/2011

I'm convinced there is no actress working today worse than Kristen Stewart. She makes teenage, emo Winona look like Laurence Olivier in comparison.

by Anonymousreply 905/16/2011

r7, got some anger issues there, honey?

by Anonymousreply 1005/16/2011

Tom Cruise won this thread & it is now closed.

by Anonymousreply 1105/16/2011

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConawhatever.

by Anonymousreply 1205/16/2011

Tom Cruise. No one else comes close to being as bad an actor as he is.

by Anonymousreply 1305/16/2011

Interview with a Vampire was hilariously awesome for the bad acting of both Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Julia Roberts. I swear the woman just plays herself in every role. And she's smug about it.

by Anonymousreply 1405/17/2011

Tom Cruise. Just vapid, creepy and robotic.

by Anonymousreply 1505/17/2011

Mark Wahlberg

Meg Ryan

Katie Holmes

Kate Bosworth

Will Smith

by Anonymousreply 1605/17/2011

I second Nicholas Cage. He's now a circus act.

by Anonymousreply 1705/17/2011
I second Nicholas Cage. He's now a circus act.

Is it drugs or what? He was once an interesting actor. Now I avoid his movies.

by Anonymousreply 1905/17/2011

Blake Lively

by Anonymousreply 2005/17/2011

Cage needs to take anything and everything he's offered in order to pay his tax bills. if he nust stink up the screen, can't he at least afford a decent rug?%0D %0D Heather Graham basically played herself in "Boogie Nights" (ie a useless bimbo). She must give amazing blow jobs to keep getting parts at 41.

by Anonymousreply 2105/17/2011

Chris Klein auditioning for "Mamma Mia". Real of fake?

by Anonymousreply 2305/17/2011

Kate Hudson almost won an Oscar for Almost Famous, playing a dim-witted groupie. She was great in that film; the problem was, she wasn't acting.

by Anonymousreply 2405/17/2011

I have to also agree on Kristen Stewart. I just tried watching ADVENTURELAND with Kristen and Jesse Eisenberg and her method of emoting is mainly in the form of running her hands through her hair. As a matter of fact, IMDb lists her touching her hair about 55 times throughout the entire film.

by Anonymousreply 2605/17/2011

Funny you should say that R26. Check the Kristen Stewart School of Acting. It about sums up her career.

by Anonymousreply 2705/17/2011

This is all well and good, but who is the worst actor in WEST Hollywood?

by Anonymousreply 2805/17/2011

Matthew McConnodouche

Will [Ferrell & Smith]

Ben Quakflak

J. Looooo

by Anonymousreply 3005/17/2011

Matthew McConnodouche

Will (Ferell & Smith)

Ben Quakflak

J. Looo

by Anonymousreply 3105/17/2011

Nic Cage was good in Wild At Heart. But that's probably just due to magical David Lynch and his editor.

continuing on a Lynch bent... Heather Graham (she was abysmal in Twin Peaks and Austin Powers) Moira Kelly (almost single-handedly destroyed Fire Walk With Me)

Will Smith (always plays himself) Harrison Ford Ben Affleck (so earnest!) Shia the Beef (aka Spielberg's secret son or lover) John Travolta (at least for the last 20 years) Mark Wahlberg (lucked out with Boogie Nights) Julia Roberts Blake Lively Queen Latifah most of Glee Dustin Hoffman (Perfume was the worst) Robert de Niro (last 20 years)

by Anonymousreply 3205/17/2011
Tom Cruise. No one else comes close to being as bad an actor as he is.

I'm asking seriously, do you really think Cruise is the worst? I know we hate him and should hate him - with his weird, Scientology, closeted ass. And, I know he's definitely a bad actor. But, the worst? I just don't see it. Isn't the choice of Cruise based somewhat reflexively on how repulsive of a person he is?

by Anonymousreply 3305/17/2011

I don't think Cruise is the worst. Yes he's hammy and robotic, but not the worst.

by Anonymousreply 3405/17/2011

Tom Cruise--not because he's repulsive; it's because he can't act--he tries too hard--he can't relax and be just human, like, say, Spencer Tracy among others.%0D %0D Keanu Reeves--a beautiful face I could look at all day, but can't act; he has only one facial expression.

by Anonymousreply 3505/17/2011

Brad Pitt is the worst actor I've seen in any film, apart from Cindy Crawford in that one movie she did with Billy Baldwin.

I don't know what it is about Pitt that sets me off. It's like he wandered in off the street into the scene. Almost Brechtian.

It's not that he doesn't try -- you can "see" all the effort. Seeing him beside Ed Norton in Fight Club and Christoph Waltz in GB was painful.

by Anonymousreply 3605/17/2011

R7 , I didn't agree with R10 . Well observed and written.

by Anonymousreply 3705/17/2011

Sean Penn. Watching him impression a mentally challenged or a homosexual man makes me feel crawly, especially knowing that so many people will be leaping to their feet with "Bravo!"

by Anonymousreply 4105/17/2011

Brad Pitt? Seriously? Did you see Fight Club or this movie where he played Jesse James? He is far from being best actor, but he is not worst either.

I think Ashton Kutcher is the worst actor in Hollywood today.

by Anonymousreply 4205/17/2011

The only thing that really bugs me about Keanu's acting is his flat, robotic voice and cadence. If only he could get past that... I've heard he's surprisingly good in his new movie, Henry's Crime though.

I wish I understood what happened to Nic Cage; I fear the same thing is starting to happen to Johnny Depp.

by Anonymousreply 4305/17/2011
Brad Pitt? Seriously? Did you see Fight Club or this movie where he played Jesse James? He is far from being best actor, but he is not worst either. I think Ashton Kutcher is the worst actor in Hollywood today.

You may be right, but I haven't seen anything Ashton Kutcher has been in.

Brad Pitt fucks up potentially good movies. Kutcher doesn't star in anything I want to see.

by Anonymousreply 4405/17/2011

R43 I love the way Keanu pushes out his words. I can't argue that he is a good actor but I could watch him all day everyday. I am absolutely guilty of going to see the new Keanu movie or the new Martin Scorsese film because I am a fan. The storyline is not generally a consideration. %0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 4705/17/2011

To whomver said he/she likes Forrest Whitaker--have you seem that new show of his? Oh my god--it's like acting is running a 10k and his fat ass can't hack it. I thought he was great in Crying Game. And granted, I didn't see all of The Last King of Scotland-- but was he always this bad? He's almost on par with William Shatner in that EVERY! WORD! IS! EMPHASIZED! And LOUD! exhalations of breath seem to punctuate all the phrases.%0D %0D THE! EFFORT! THE! ACTING!

by Anonymousreply 4805/17/2011

Hey R48,%0D %0D I haven't seen his new show but I find him believable in movies. I saw The Crying Game, The Last King of Scotland, and many others. I don't know. There just seems to always be a vulnerable human quality that comes across in his characters-and I'm not just talking about TLKOS. I dig him.

by Anonymousreply 4905/17/2011

Jessica Alba. I've seen people kill themselves rather than watch her for one more minute.

by Anonymousreply 5005/17/2011

R48 This show is just very bad. It's so beneath him, to be honest. He made some bad choices with his movie roles, hit or miss all the time, but when his is hit, he is HIT!

by Anonymousreply 5105/17/2011

So it sound like I'm not missing anything R51.%0D %0D Hey R50, when you spend the whole movie in a bikini and people can't stop talking about your poor acting perhaps you should call it a day.

by Anonymousreply 5205/17/2011

Andie Macdowell has been ruining movies since the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 5305/17/2011

R7 is so obviously an unemployed character actor who thinks he should have Paul Giamatti's career.

by Anonymousreply 5405/17/2011

Brad Pitt was awful in Inglourious Basterds. If only they could have gotten a good actor for the role.

by Anonymousreply 5505/17/2011
Interview with a Vampire was hilariously awesome for the bad acting of both Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.

Cruise was like a swotted fly, but the stillness of Pitt actually worked for him because it allowed one to drink in his beauty (aided by a non-American director who didn't feel nervous about allowing such extended homage to male face).

The worst actor/actress, in terms of scoring picture-carrying roles, is Keira Knightley: she blows out the water the notion that everyone can act to some degree. She's like a black hole which sucks the life out of a film.

As others have said here and elsewhere, Nicole Kidman is only good when she's playing calculating bitches. Otherwise, as in 'Australia' she can be an utter breathy-little-girl doing a school play embarrassment.

One of my fave examples of a good actor delivering an awful performance is Judy Dench in Pride and Prejudice. To employ the old cliche, she could have phoned in the performance.

by Anonymousreply 5605/17/2011

I'm sorry but I OWN this thread!!

by Anonymousreply 5705/17/2011

Sean Penn and Forest Whitaker are not bad actors, let alone the worst actors in Hollywood. Why do gay men always have to go there with the knee jerk "look at how discerning and super cool I am for hating everything" bullshit? It's lame and bitter.

by Anonymousreply 5805/17/2011

I agree with the Kate Hudson mentions. She is godawful.

by Anonymousreply 6005/17/2011

January Jones

Nicholas Cage

by Anonymousreply 6105/17/2011

R7 scares me.

by Anonymousreply 6205/17/2011

I had mercifully forgotten Kiera Knightley, who has singlehandedly kept so many good scripts from being turned into good films. But even a bad actress is better than Kristen Stewart; watching her is like watching a local high school girl wander in front of the camera and try some improv for the first time.%0D %0D But even if there was any talent in the "Twilight" actors, the franchise would beat it out of them. The scripts are the worst I've ever seen, and the fans are so undiscerning that they'll wet their seats no matter how terrible the actors are. You can see them giving up onscreen, what casting agent will take them seriously after this?%0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 6305/17/2011

Watching Keira Knightly in Never Let Me Go, you can see her being out acted in every scene by Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan. Keira was reduced to nothing but window dressing. The only thing that saves her career is her reported beauty and her ability to rock some kick ass period costumes.

Regarding the Twilight actors: Yes the material is bad. Really cheesy, but most big franchises are big and dumb and filled with bad dialogue. But my god, you could replace Stewart and Pattinson with puppets and get better performances. They all always look like they've taken a sedative before each take. No, it's not just the material. I think they really are that bad. The worst.

by Anonymousreply 6405/17/2011

Jennifer Lopez

Scarlett Johannason

As for Brad Pitt, he has his moment and is not the worst, but he certainly isn't good either.

by Anonymousreply 6505/17/2011

Brad Pitt is awful. He seems to talk out of the corner of his mouth and mumble his lines. When he has to get emotional in a scene, audiences end up laughing at him. And Matt Damon. When he was screaming "They're trying to take you away from me" on a commercial for some shitty movie he was in, it was cringe-worthy.

by Anonymousreply 6605/17/2011

another vote for Forest Whittaker?

How does this man have an academy award...

Film Tv...HE SUCKS

by Anonymousreply 6705/17/2011

Nick Cage OWNS this topic

by Anonymousreply 6805/17/2011

I love Forest Whittaker. Ya'll are crazy.

Cameron Diaz- Every line reading she gives it's like she's acting in a porno. Once you notice this, you won't be able to stop. Seriously, Porno.

That fucking model lips that Kiera Knightly does. So distracting.

Val Kilmer. When he wants to convey emotion, I'm convinced he just tries to shit his pants. Seriously, his expressions consist of trying to stifle a fart and trying to squeeze one out.

Kristen Stewart. Is she brain damaged?

by Anonymousreply 6905/17/2011

One of my favorite Forrest Whitaker moments occurs in "Species."

Whitaker plays a psychic/empath and he walks into a room that is dripping with blood, guts and alien goo. Just a mess! He looks around, and with the most gravitas he can muster, he says, "Something bad happened here."

Ya think?!? What gave it away? Thank GOD there's a psychic here to tell us exactly what we all can see!!

Now, granted, this is more the screenwriter's fault than anything else, but still. Awful!!

by Anonymousreply 7005/17/2011

She may not be the worst, but Michelle Rodriguez is the most limited one out of the bunch.

by Anonymousreply 7105/17/2011

Kevin Costner. Hands down the worst.

by Anonymousreply 7205/17/2011

Nicolas Cage, definitely.

by Anonymousreply 7305/17/2011

I love r7!

by Anonymousreply 7405/17/2011

Trying not to duplicate...%0D %0D Alan Arkin - the go-to guy if you want a two-dimensional, always shouting angry old geezer seething from some long forgotten grudge%0D %0D Jennifer Jason Leigh - like moving the mouth of a corpse with strings and a stick%0D %0D Cloris Leachman - just keeps sticking around and showing up and hamming it up with cringe-inducing performances for the better part of 40 years now%0D %0D Johnny Depp - should have hung it up after 'Gilbert Grape'%0D %0D Diane Keaton - keeps finding more and more annoying characters to play in exactly the same way%0D %0D Tim Robbins - another cadaverous performer, with a permanent smirk, no less%0D %0D Cameron Diaz - makes me arrpeciate Julia Roberts and Andie McDowell%0D %0D Billy Zane - mug and unwatchable%0D %0D Owen Wilson - makes me itch all over, like a flea infestation%0D %0D Adam Goldberg - each performance exactly as bad (and the same) as the last%0D %0D %0D %0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 7505/17/2011

I think a lot of you confuse not particularly good with worst.

by Anonymousreply 7605/17/2011

Sean Penn is a great screen actor. Period.%0D %0D Pitt can be pretty awful and sometimes fine if cast right.%0D %0D Julia Roberts can be OK if cast right, but mostly not so great- I cannot watch her most of the time- Cruise is the male version.%0D %0D J Lo is awful. Matt McC is awful. Demi Moore is awful, Ashton Kutchner is like the Twight actors, not to even be considered.%0D %0D Kevin Costner is pretty bad although if cast right can be Ok.%0D %0D Robert Redford mostly awful, a few time cast right and OK, like Butch Cassidy.%0D %0D Halle Berry really awful, always. But beautiful.%0D %0D Gwinnie when cast as a spoiled rich whatever is OK otherwise cannot act.%0D %0D Scarlett J is awful.%0D %0D Amazing sometimes just how mediocre many film stars are- but then there are many who are a joy to watch to make up for them.%0D %0D %0D %0D %0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 7705/17/2011

I'm glad to see Redford included here. A likeable man, stunning to look at in his prime, but one of the flattest, most overrated actors in the history of Hollywood. %0D %0D I might throw Warren Beatty into the mix from "old" Hollywood. Beautiful in his youth, but nowhere near the acting talent that he imagined himself to be.

by Anonymousreply 7805/17/2011

Liz Taylor was horrible.

by Anonymousreply 7905/17/2011

Brad Pitt gets roles because of his looks in spite of his lack of talent.

by Anonymousreply 8005/17/2011

Don't forget about me!

by Anonymousreply 8105/17/2011

Madonna. Period.

by Anonymousreply 8205/17/2011

Reese Witherspoon stinks.

by Anonymousreply 8305/17/2011
Hm, well, I think Pitt definitely didn't fuck up Fight Club, or Seven, or Babel, or The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, or Snatch, or Twelve Monkeys - those are good movies, some of them are terrific. Maybe not thanks to him, but he didn't fuck those movie up either.%0D %0D Agree with R46 about Pitt. He's not good or memorable actor, and he has been bad, but there are plenty who are worse. He has been at least more than adequate in a half-dozen or so good roles, which puts him ahead of actors like Depp who, against wild acclaim, have turned in shit performances for decades. %0D %0D I'll at least give Pitt points for using his good luck to advantage and choosing some interesting projects, even if he doesn't always excel at them. %0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 8405/17/2011

Scarlett Johansson, slam dunk.%0D %0D She's coasting on her boobs and blonde hair and she knows it. Why do you think she hooked up with Sean Penn?

by Anonymousreply 8505/17/2011

You can tell Debbie is not really Debbie because anyone who knew or was friends with Elizabeth Taylor never called her "Liz". I have a sister named Elizabeth, and no one ever, in her life, has called her Liz. Gives you a small idea of how strange it must be to be (so) famous.

by Anonymousreply 8605/17/2011

"I think a lot of you confuse not particularly good with worst."%0D %0D %0D %0D The true worst actors are the ones who rarely or never get hired, or the ones who just do soaps and stuff, not A or B-listers like the ones being mentioned in this thread.%0D %0D %0D Out of all the A/B list people the worst ones are probably Keanu Reeves, Kate Hudson, and Keira Knightley. Keira Knightley doesn't act - she poses. I don't understand how she got an Oscar nomination, or how any critics can think she is good or even just competent. Kate Hudson has never been good in anything other than Almost Famous. She was so bad in The Four Feathers that I actually felt embarrassed for her. Keanu seems like a nice guy, but he has never been good in anything.%0D %0D

by Anonymousreply 8705/17/2011
I'll at least give Pitt points for using his good luck to advantage and choosing some interesting projects, even if he doesn't always excel at them.

He's absolutely ridiculous in them.

I give Keanu credit for choosing movies like Speed, Point Break, and The Matrix. He looks so beautiful in them and doesn't really need to act.

by Anonymousreply 8805/17/2011

Jake G.

by Anonymousreply 8905/17/2011
I'll at least give Pitt points for using his good luck to advantage and choosing some interesting projects, even if he doesn't always excel at them.

Pitt gets cast in good movies and ends up ruining them with his performances. There's something to knowing your limitations and what your wheelhouse is. Even the best directors can't get a good performance out of him.

by Anonymousreply 9005/17/2011

R90

Once again, how the hell did he ruin Fight Club, for example? Or Seven? Or Babel? Those are terrific movies. You keep talking about Pitt ruining movies, but the guy has impressive resume and a lot of great movies behind his shoulders.

by Anonymousreply 9105/17/2011

r91 = Angie

by Anonymousreply 9205/17/2011

Everyone mentions plus David Spade, he makes my skin crawl.

by Anonymousreply 9305/17/2011

I would watch Keanu read the phone book.

What about Laurence"don't call me Larry" Fishbun?

by Anonymousreply 9505/17/2011
Also, at this point Paltrow is right there, because she has lost herself in her own ego and self-regard. It's like watching a sun-bleached turd proclaim itself white chocolate every time she steps into the frame.

Who knew Rex Reed was still alive?

by Anonymousreply 9605/17/2011

I disagree with all the Pitt hate. He's one of the not particularly good, but he's definitely not one of the worst. Guy has been in a lot of awesome movies, and while he's not always the shining person in them, he performs admirably. At the very least his lack of talent doesn't distract for his co-stars abilities, like Pattinson in Water for Elephants.

by Anonymousreply 9705/17/2011

"This is all well and good, but who is the worst actor in WEST Hollywood?"

Wund Girl

by Anonymousreply 9805/17/2011

R96, Rex Reed still IS alive.

by Anonymousreply 9905/17/2011

Beyonce. I know she's not an "actress" per se, but she's been pretty awful in most of the films I've seen her in. I heard she wasn't bad in Cadillac Records.

by Anonymousreply 10005/17/2011

Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie & her Count Chocula accent Matt Damon Julia Roberts

by Anonymousreply 10105/17/2011
I disagree with all the Pitt hate. He's one of the not particularly good, but he's definitely not one of the worst. I agree. Especially about Pattinson. I don't like Pitt, don't know how he scores such Oscar bait movies, but he's not the worst.

by Anonymousreply 10205/17/2011

Robert Pattison is awful. I saw some indie movie he was in and he sucked monkey dicks. Plus I despise his pasty skin, and smashed in face.

by Anonymousreply 10305/17/2011

Michael Caine is a terrible actor. That awful voice. How he won the Oscar for that lumpen performance in Hannah And Her Sisters, yet he commands enormous respect. Yucky, yucky.%0D %0D Julia should have been mentioned many more times, mostly because she looks so unhappy to be acting. Zero charm, yet worshipped by the masses.%0D %0D I agree about Warren Beatty. Bland.

by Anonymousreply 10405/17/2011

I agree with Julia looking so unhappy to be acting. I'll go as far as saying I feel like I'm inconveniencing her by watching her movie.

by Anonymousreply 10605/17/2011

I love R101 for calling out Jolie and her "Count Chockula" accent! Stephen and I chuckle about this ALL the time when we're socializing at the various awards shows.

by Anonymousreply 10705/17/2011

What about Ronn Moss "Rick!!!!"?

by Anonymousreply 10805/17/2011

I would rather watch a seemingly nice bad actor like Keanu than a better bad actor Fish or Forrest who seem full of themselves.

by Anonymousreply 10905/17/2011

I totally mentioned McC a while back. And I agree.

by Anonymousreply 11105/18/2011
I had mercifully forgotten Kiera Knightley, who has singlehandedly kept so many good scripts from being turned into good films. %0D %0D That's the real tragedy. Hopefully her star and bankability has waned? Mind you, Pride And Prejudice, which sort of set her on her run, was appalling from A to Z, thanks to its 'lauded' crap director. %0D %0D Worst performance by a good actor: Streep in Plenty. Runner up: Streep in The French Lieutenant's Woman. Artifice, not acting.

Nutrition is huge.%0D %0D Her publicist needs to plant a blind item about a douchy controlling husband to get the women on her side.%0D %0D When she divorces her husband her fans will applaud her independence and the tabloid boost will be amazing for her career and sales.%0D %0D We all have our strengths. She is gorgeous and needs to take advantage of this sooner rather than later. A little charity never hurts either.%0D %0D %0D

Katie Holmes

by Anonymousreply 11607/18/2011

Jennifer Love Hewitt - shouldn't even be getting bit parts at this point

Jessica Biel - completely wooden

Kate Beckinsale - England's even worse actress than Kiera Knightley

Kate Bosworth - vacant, I think

As for Kate Hudson - always found her bland and boring. But I was wowed by her in Nine. Think it's a fluke

add me McBongo haters plus

ROBIN WILLIAMS - Awakenings, What Dreck May Come, Snatch Adams, the list goes on and on......

by Anonymousreply 11707/18/2011

R7 is insane and a loyal member of the KKK.

by Anonymousreply 11807/18/2011

Tommy Wiseau.%0D %0D %0D %0D No one is worse than him!

by Anonymousreply 11907/18/2011

Brad Pitt and Ryan Phillippe. I would love Ryan more as an actor if he would stop with that fake fau british accent.

by Anonymousreply 12007/18/2011

Most of you just like to be critical. Most of the actors mentioned are great. How many of you know ANYTHING about acting? Obviously, most of you are extremely ignorant and just like to critisize people you are jealous of.

by Anonymousreply 12107/18/2011

Megan Fox was the first name that immediately sprang to my mind. I've never seen her in anything that even remotely indicated that she may have shown a glimmer of talent in an audition or elsewhere besides the casting couch. As for Brad Pitt, he's not a great actor but he did show some improvement over the years. Also, I think he's making relatively smart career choices by picking projects where he's not a headliner but apart of a cast of better actors where he can blend in and not have the pressure of carrying the movie. When it comes to the current crop of male stars, Ryan Reynolds is truly awful.

by Anonymousreply 12207/18/2011
One of my fave examples of a good actor delivering an awful performance is Judy Dench in Pride and Prejudice. To employ the old cliche, she could have phoned in the performance.

I loved her in P & P.

by Anonymousreply 12307/18/2011

Woody Harrelson.

by Anonymousreply 12407/18/2011

Agree with Nicolas Cage. I just don't get why he keeps getting all these action/adventure movie roles. There are so many hot, handsome, young guys they could cast.

by Anonymousreply 12507/18/2011

Harrelson? Uh oh. He's playing gay in the Timberlake-Kunis rom-com coming out.

by Anonymousreply 12607/18/2011

Cage has ...connections.

by Anonymousreply 12707/18/2011

I too think Woody Harrelson is a very bad actor.

by Anonymousreply 12807/18/2011

What about me, bitches??? This thread is MINE.

by Anonymousreply 12907/18/2011
Keanu seems like a nice guy, but he has never been good in anything.

He was good in "The Gift".

by Anonymousreply 13007/18/2011

Pitt was horrendous in "Seven Years n Tibet"

by Anonymousreply 13107/19/2011

I finally just saw The Town, and dear god there was some bad performances in this! Jeremy Renner was pretty much the only good thing about it. Ben Affleck was embarrassingly over the top and as for Blake Lively...I'd heard this was a break out performance for her, but dear god she was AWFUL. Her entire performance was nothing but runny mascara and a bad Boston accent. And she was just as mumbly and mush mouthed here as she is in Gossip Girl. Girl can't act her way out of a paper bag.

by Anonymousreply 13208/08/2011

r6 It's Maurice Benard with one r. He wasn't always this bad. I guess it's not like riding a bike.

r100 BeYAWNce doesn't count. She's not an actress. She's a gyrating singer that gets movie deals because producers think she'll get asses in the seats which hasn't worked out well for the most part. How can Leonardo DiCaprio be doing any movie with her? Does he have the world's biggest drug habit?

Brad Pitt is wooden and not the good kind of wood. His looks have always been overrated as well. He's got a pig nose and acne pot marks on his face. He gives a wooden performance and gets an Oscar nomination. His girlfriend isn't much better. Aside from being a narcissist (I mean who changes their surname to mean pretty in another language) she's not a good actress at all. She stinks.

But, Robert Pattinwhatever is really bad. How in the world is he getting all these parts. He doesn't deliver the acting good and he's not rolling in the money.

How could Kristen Steward be decent in Panic Room but suck now?

by Anonymousreply 13308/08/2011

R7 I agree totally.

Kate Bosworth. I have seen her now in 3 films - Beyond the Sea, Superman Returns and 21, and she sucked in all of them. She has this knack of making you want to hate her and smash her in the face just by looking into the camera. Ugh.

Jennifer Aniston - no explantion neccessary, obviously.

Eric Roberts - instantly cheapens and dis-credits any production his name touches. The only guy who can claim that.

George Clooney - the KING of smug douchness on camera. Honestly, he is great to look at but he just can't act, period.

Cameron Diaz - sorry doll, your fresh face days are long behind you. The extra cheese you add to every role just isn't cute when you're a 40 year old sunburnt chain-smoking matron, desperately clinging to any semblence of youth. Barf.

by Anonymousreply 13608/08/2011

Tom Cruise,%0D %0D Next!

by Anonymousreply 13708/08/2011

Kelly Brook: Absolute talentless, useless bitch with a man jaw. Has coasted on the size of her boobs and perma smile and needs to get devoured by piranha's as a matter of urgency.

Cameron Diaz: Giggle, giggle... built like a 6 year old boy and thinks she's hot, for all her wealth she still has not discovered the joys of dermabrasion and a blue chemical peel.. Rough as a dogs arse

George Clooney: Perfectly parodied on american dad for his looky down - looky up with a brooding look thing

Adam Sandler: Always plays a version of Happy Gilmour in a different moods

Kristen Stewart; I have never seen Twilight but I want to kick her miserable face to death. You're not pretty, not cool and need to fuck off back up the asshole from whence you came

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Basically - WTF!!!?? Peter Sarsgaard can look down the toilet pan after a hard night out on the booze and a dodgy curry and find better

Emma Roberts: The second coming of the wank stain on the face of humanity

Linsday Lohan: I know who killed me? I know what film killed her fucking career!!

Colin Farrell: Cunt!!

Madonna: She must have sucked Guy Ritchies cock so well for him to allow her to star in, let alone release to the general public the crab infested pubic itch which was sweptaway and undermine his career by 10 years

And finally EVA MENDEZ always playing Eva Mendes - fucking one trick pony that needs to take a quarter and go down town to get a rat gnaw that mole off her face

by Anonymousreply 13808/12/2011

I like Charlie's list.

And I'd like to add Hilary Swank. She may not be the worst out there, but she is the worst two time Oscar winner for sure.

by Anonymousreply 13908/13/2011

r133, Jolie didn't change her "surname". That's her given middle name. Carry on.

by Anonymousreply 14008/13/2011

Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson.

by Anonymousreply 14108/13/2011

Seth Rogen. He's not really acting, though, he's just being himself. I mean, he's the same in every film.

by Anonymousreply 14208/13/2011

People must like Channing Tatum because he gets a lot of work. I don't know why. He is dull dull dull.

by Anonymousreply 14308/13/2011

Ashley Judd. However, the people have wisened up to her lack of talent and all around cuntiness so the roles have dried up.

by Anonymousreply 14408/13/2011

I've always really hated Terrence Howard. There's something so mannered about his speaking that just drives me crazy. Its like he always thinks what he's saying is important. He was the worst thing about Crash, and I include the script, the direction, and Sandra Bullock in the list of things I was considering.

by Anonymousreply 14508/14/2011

R121

I suggest you don't assume that we lack the ability to tell when someone has decent talent and is good at what they do or not, unlike you.

Your arguement is like saying that because someone is not a chef their tastebuds can't tell when something tastes like shit.

What you need to understand is that as consumers we are the experts because if we think someone is shit and don't watch their films they don't get work. Now, naturally people have differing views on what is good or bad which is why the recurring names on the list keep making films.

That does not mean any of us are jealous it just means we would rather they fucked off and took you with them.

DICK!!!

by Anonymousreply 14608/14/2011
Ashley Judd. However, the people have wisened up to her lack of talent and all around cuntiness so the roles have dried up.

She ruined [italic]Twisted[/italic]. I tried watching it on DVD because Philip Kaufman can be good and it had several good actors in it: Andy Garcia, Samuel Jackson, Mark Pellegrino, David Strathairn, Titus Welliver. I didn't last 20 minutes. She's supposed to be a self-destructive SFPD homicide detective, a blackout drunk who picks up men in bars for anonymous one-night stands. Judd was so feeble it was sad.

by Anonymousreply 14708/14/2011

Ashley Judd is a decent actress, but apparently she's a major bitch so Hollywood discarded her.

by Anonymousreply 14809/04/2011

Elizabeth Banks. She does the same thing everytime and people stop and go "ahhhh. she's such a good actress". I fucking hate her.

by Anonymousreply 14909/04/2011

Paltrow the worst actress in Hollywood? Really? Your letting hate blind you.%0D %0D The Crying Game is the most overrated film I've seen, and the Apatow clowns the worst actors.

I agree with this.

by Anonymousreply 15209/04/2011
The discussion of Worst Actor in Hollywood begins and ends with Kristen Stewart.

Abso-fucking-lutely.

by Anonymousreply 15309/04/2011

The title should be: The Worst Actor or Actress Who Keeps Getting Hired?

That would be Julia Roberts, I never got her at all. Still don't get the accolades. She has absolutely no range.

She basically plays a variation on the same character in every film OR it is....she plays a variation of herself in every film?

Roberts clearly has no range, yet keeps getting hired because the hype machine has deemed her a worthy actress.

Showing your teeth and giggling like a loon in pretty much every film, has nothing to do with acting.

by Anonymousreply 15409/04/2011

Elizabeth Banks was good in [italic]the Next Three Days[/italic], but it's the only thing I've seen her in.

by Anonymousreply 15509/04/2011
She basically plays a variation on the same character in every film OR it is....she plays a variation of herself in every film?

You can say that about a lot of so called A-listers. Most find a persona that clicks with the public and rarely deviate from the script. Julia has the horse laugh. Anytime she's tried to do anything else (Mary Reilly) she's failed miserably.

George Clooney is another one who gets tons of praise for essentially playing himself in every role.

However I think there's a difference between out and out horrible (Kristen Stewart, who can't recite a word from a script without sounding like a robot) and a Roberts or Clooney or an Aniston, who can only play one character, and if not quite well, then not totally horrible either.

by Anonymousreply 15609/04/2011

Mark Wahlberg is the worst one I can imagine. Even Julia Roberts at least has charisma, but Wahlberg is a vacuum on the screen.

by Anonymousreply 16609/05/2011

seems like theres alot of hate in these replies. some good actors who are being called bad or awful???

brad pitt is lousy, tom cruise is bad, nick cage is awful, and there are plenty of new 'actors' who cannot act --- the film industry is just like the music industry in that the goal, now greater than ever, is to make money, regardless of the quality of the product. so you have dozens of 'marketing packages' that are pushed on the public.... 'singers' that cant sing, but they can be marketed and SOLD! 'actors' who cant act but they can be marketed and SOLD. channing tatum, zach efron, the entire cast of twilight. its no secret that hollywood favors the young -- why? because the average age of audience members is 15-25. so who best to get as many fannies in the seats? a crotchety jeff bridges? an over the hill pacino, botoxed spacey, or even past his physical prime russell crowe? all talented ACTORS but no, the pre- and pubescent public wants to see sexy, young, identifiable figures on stage. and if you remember being 16, how capable (or willing) were you to seek out talent over 'what looks good'? so the music industry is a gluttonous mess of marketable hotness with no musical talent and the silver screen is no different. dozens of the latest teen heartthrobs and sexy bods all lacking talent. the minute we started giving print and talk time to attractive but talentless people, we redfined 'celebrity' --- not famous for talent but famous for being famous. and that opened the door to simply SELLING HOTNESS.

by Anonymousreply 16707/27/2012

Keanu.

by Anonymousreply 16807/27/2012

Hollywood doesn't hire real actors anymore. Just pretty boys. The UK has superior actors because they actually studied for years. Same with the music industry. Manufactured cuties for the tween crowd with canned music, lip-synching and autotune.

by Anonymousreply 16907/27/2012

Nicolas Cage

by Anonymousreply 17007/27/2012

Annette Bening. Of everything I have seen her do, she is consistently the WORSE part of any picture. But she keeps getting work because for whatever reasons, Hollywood feels they still have to kiss Warren Beatty's ass, despite the fact that he has not done anything notable in decades.

by Anonymousreply 17107/27/2012

Second vote for Nicholas Cage. He has two facial expressions and one tone of voice. I enjoyed Adaptation but a hundred other actors would have been better in that part. Frankly the physical differences between the two brothers and the script are what got him some acclaim for that.

I don't get the Jeremy Renner push either. He's on the borderline of looking like a puffy lesbian Paul Williams impersonator in some scenes in the new Bourne trailer.

Oh, and Russell Brand. I want to take a bath everytime I see him onscreen. Ewwwww

by Anonymousreply 17207/27/2012

I give Ryan Reynolds a pass -

if he can say dialogue like "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's Light" without blushing or folding up into the foetal position, wailing about the horror his career has become, then he's an actor...

by Anonymousreply 17307/27/2012

I don't think I've seen a worse picture than 'Meet Joe Black,' so I'll go with Pitt too. I tried to like Benjamin Button, and I thought it was excellent and really atmospheric, but far too long. You could see the director was in love with Brad, but I never got all the way through it -- and I went to see it like three times (on a cruise ship...they played every night on the deck as some kind of maritime torture). Then I tried to sit through Inglorious Basterds and Pitt's southern accent really grated on me and "took me out" of the scene, made me aware of the (bad) acting.

by Anonymousreply 17407/27/2012

the absolute worst actor /producer/director in holly wood in the last century is will Ferrell he takes a really good movie/show and destroys it in the remake when he does his remakes the finished disaster makes you run for a barf bag it is that bad

by Anonymousreply 17507/27/2012

Kate Hudson, although she seems to be on a downswing, luckily.

by Anonymousreply 17607/27/2012

with out a doubt the worst of the worst is will Ferrell he is not only the worst actor in history but also the worst producer and the worst director he takes perfectly good movies and remakes them into some sick joke of what they were loved for and when you see what he has done to ruin it you run or carry a barf bag with you it is so horrible

by Anonymousreply 17707/30/2012

Channing Tatum owns his thread. A good looking black hole of no talent but seems to be in every movie of the last couple of years.

by Anonymousreply 17807/30/2012

Vince Vaughn vs. line delivery

by Anonymousreply 17907/30/2012

Worst actor?

Sam Worthington

Absolutely horrendous actor, on every level.

by Anonymousreply 18007/30/2012

Dragged to one of Twilight films, sorry, movies.

RPat, sensitive student, recited Shakespeare. Owww. Very painful. (B. Del Toro, a decent actor, also hurt me badly when he did this in Wolfieguy, seen on internet for five minutes before hook)

But as I sat through Twi, in despair at prospect of the next 2 hours, I began to appreciate the studious hack work. And noticeably, that the actress, KS, seemed to know what she was doing, carrying RPat through the pic.

Could be Stockholm Syndrome tho.

by Anonymousreply 18107/30/2012

Robert Pattinson: I've only seen him in Water for Elephants & cannot figure out why he gets work. He seems to have only two expressions and both of them are boring.

Ben Affleck: I've seen way too many of his movies & he sucks in every single one. He has this sideways smirk he does & that's about it.

Demi Moore:The definition of wooden acting. Sill I end up liking her movies like Ghost and A Few Good Men. She's basically window dressing in decent to good movies.

Adam Sandler: He doesn't so much act as do an extended stand up routine within a movie. He seems good natured so I can tolerate his movies but he has no acting talent whatsoever.

Chuck Norris: I used to watch all his action movies even though he was the worse actor I've ever seen. Now his politics suck even more than his acting

Tori Spelling, Megan Fox, Keanu Reeves, Miley Cyrus

by Anonymousreply 18207/30/2012

I really want to like Annette Bening more, but I found her CRINGEWORTHY in her lavishly praised role in "The Kids Are Alright". I don't understand how people thought this hammy implausible bit of "acting" was any good at all!

by Anonymousreply 18307/30/2012

Shamar Moore, Terrence Howard and Isaiah Washington are terrible. I also don't get the fascination with Brad Pitt. Contrary to what some say, he really isn't that good-looking.

You can walk into any department store in a major city and find ridiculously good-looking salesmen (Nordstrom, Sachs, Neiman's, Barneys NY, etc.) who blow Brad Pitt and a lot of other Hollywood actors off the map looks-wise.

Say what you want about the douche-baggery of Tom Cruise, but the guy can act.
Robert Pattinson: I've only seen him in Water for Elephants & cannot figure out why he gets work. He seems to have only two expressions and both of them are boring.

That's about the best description of Robert Pattinson's 'acting' I've ever read. But I've never lasted through all of Water for Elephants because it was just too boring and Rpatz came across as mentally challenged.

by Anonymousreply 18611/04/2012

I like Brad Pitt. And Keanu. Both are incredibly likeable, attractive, interesting to watch and I totally get why both are movie stars. That said, I also get why they seem to be leading the pack for this thread. Keanu is, to me, by far the worst of the two. Brad has been quite good in a few films. Keanu? Not really.

by Anonymousreply 18711/04/2012

Yeah, Brad definitely has some talent as an actor. Keanu seems like a truly genuine and decent person but dude is not a "real actor" at all.

Robert Pattison is terrible it has to be said. You can't blame it on Twilight, as others have said he is just as bad in other roles.
Seann William Scott

I actually think he is a legitimate comedic actor that has been funny in a number of roles. Playing the same schtick sure, but it works for him.

by Anonymousreply 18811/04/2012

Absolutely, Brad Pitt. And mainly because he gets great roles others could have made memorable. Read the worst reviews for "Benjamin Button", (mainly as a second-rate Forrest Gump") and yet he got an oscar nomination over some great performances.

Julia Roberts. Heard she took Broadway by storm! Not really!

Sometimes wonder if Tom Cruise was expecting an oscar for that rock 'n roll character he played.

by Anonymousreply 18911/04/2012

by Anonymousreply 19511/05/2012

Most of the actors here are merely overrated, they were so good looking that average or below average ability was tolerated, or they were hired because they have that impossible to define star power, a la Pitt, who is at least passable. If we're talking just plain bad, then it's hard to beat Taylor Lautner, IMO. He more or less lucked into Twilight, and we'll have to wait for his 15 minutes to be over. I don't find him the least bit handsome, and he's a negative 500 on the sexy scale, but he's still out there like a fungus. Keanu Reeves must be the worst actor to have a long career. He's fading now that his looks are past their due date, but he still had a good 20 years as a movie star.

All you have to do these days is hook up with another celeb, famewhore your relationship, be in the gossip rags all the time, let the paps take pics of your kids and you get millions in actor salaries, get good roles and be a celebrated actor. So sickening the whole thing. But actually we have to blame the movie going audience for this. Unfortunately enough people still want to see pretty boy faces rather than real actors. It seems to be working.

by Anonymousreply 20912/30/2012

Laura Linney

Seriously.

Think about it.

by Anonymousreply 21012/30/2012

R209 and that's exactly what limited talent BRAD PITT did...slept his way up, up, up the ladder with whomever was a hot commodity at the moment. Then he dumps them when next faster train to stardom comes along. Juliette Lewis, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and now Angelina Jolie. Its called breaking up(wards) in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 21112/30/2012

True dat R211. He would break up with Jolie but the next step up is only Streisand or Kathryn Bigelow. So he is stuck for awhile this time.

Madonna

John Wayne

by Anonymousreply 21312/30/2012

R212, Jennifer Lawrence, Mia Wasisowska and Emma Watson are all free, but something tells me that they don't need any coattail-riders right now.

by Anonymousreply 21412/30/2012

Just saw Star Wars III again: Natalie Portman and Hayden were horrible.

Jodie Foster is also overrated.

by Anonymousreply 21512/30/2012

That Timberlake boy is atrocious. The lumber section of Lowe's is less wooden. I love Madonna but she should never be allowed to work in front of a camera again (music videos and concert footage are fine, but no more "acting" for her). I really hate when musicians are put into movies just because they have the desire to act. It distracts from an otherwise good film because they are so awful. They both sound like they are reading their lines. Other actors that are wooden are Scott Caan, George Takei and Sharon Stone.

by Anonymousreply 21612/30/2012

R201: I am in full agreement about Kate Capshaw. I always loved "Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom", with one exception... HER. She delivers her lines like they are being fed to her through an earpiece and she screams endlessly for two hours. Karen Allen was such a terrific co-star for Harrison Ford in "Raiders", but Capshaw just totally shit the bed in "Temple". Horrific.

by Anonymousreply 21712/30/2012

Jodie Foster. I kind of had a crush on her when I was a babylez. Her acting stinks. I loved Silence of the Lambs, however, I could not understand the critical acclaim for her scenery chewing. I have seen better acting in Kindergarten talent shows.

by Anonymousreply 21812/30/2012

Ridiculous r218. She is no way overrated or the worst actor in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 21912/30/2012

Denise Richards in The World Is Not Enough. Terrible.

by Anonymousreply 22012/30/2012

But if you don't want to pick on Keanu for that ONE good performance, why pick on the others for those ONE-named bad performaces?

The actors that you named have given good performances in other films.

by Anonymousreply 22712/30/2012

Jennifer Aniston, Mark Wahlberg he always seems so bored and unnatural. Cam Diaz over the top. Ashton Kutcher I actually liked in the butterfly effect.

by Anonymousreply 22812/30/2012

Robert DeNiro was one of the finest actors of all-time from 1973-1995. After 1995, he became a mumbling, bumbling caricature of himself. It's been painful watching him deteriorate from the greatest actor in the world to one of the worst in the span of 17 years. I loved him. What the hell happened? It's like he became Burt Reynolds, "Fuck you, pay me." Taking a big paycheck over a meaty role (which I am unsure that he could handle anymore).

by Anonymousreply 22912/30/2012

Jude law is pretty overrated too.

by Anonymousreply 23012/30/2012

Brent Spiner. I loved his character Data in ST: TNG but have you ever seen him act outside of the Trek realm? It's painful.

by Anonymousreply 23112/30/2012

Bill Pullman.

Jeez, he must throw a mean blow job because his acting SUCKS!!!

How does he get cast in movie after movie? Seriously????

by Anonymousreply 23212/30/2012

R225, I have to second your vote for worst actor in Hollywood, going to Henry Cavill.

To highlight how bad he is, you can look no further than Cold Light of Day. No emotion at all. Plus, he had no desire to stay in character and talk with an American accent.

I guess the director got tired of trying to get a real emotion out of him.

by Anonymousreply 23312/30/2012

R233 Glad someone else agrees.

Yes, his acting was TERRIBLE in CLOD and I also noticed how he flipped back and forth between a American and British accent. It was as cringeworthy as when Madonna used to do that crap.

Same thing in Blood Creek - awful, wooden acting and went back and forth between accents again. He's good looking, but he simply does not have lead role talent. He belongs in supporting roles (and even then he's still mediocre).

by Anonymousreply 23412/30/2012

Chuck Norris --- abysmal. I can't believe he's been repeatedly getting acting jobs in Hollywood. He has never made anything of quality. Horrible, just horrible. That, plus he's a conservative whack-job (one of the worst).

by Anonymousreply 23512/30/2012

Granted, there are some pretty awful actors listed here, but the list seems to be more about overrated actors than "the worst." Many of the choices seem to be based on some sort of personal animus that has nothing to do with anyone's acting ability.

Laura Linney? No way in hell is she the worst actor in Hollywood. Neither are Jennifer Aniston, Jodie Foster or Brad Pitt. As much as I hate to admit it, if I'm to be honest neither is Tom Cruise. As for Nikolas Cage? Now we're getting there. John Wayne? Definitely. He was less animated than a cigar store Indian on his best day.

by Anonymousreply 23612/30/2012

I don't know what the actor's name is, but the last performance I saw in a Hollywood movie that was so distractingly bad that I had to confer with the person beside me was definitely the guy on the plane in the opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises. The guy with the gun? Who was threatening to throw people off the plane if they didn't tell him Bane's whereabouts?

Does anyone know who I'm talking about?

by Anonymousreply 23712/30/2012

Mila Kuntis, or whatever her name is.

by Anonymousreply 23812/30/2012

Every producer and director wants to fuck Mila Kuntis so she will keep on working otherwise.

R229 DeNiro has a lot of kids to support and an ex-wife(who knows what ex-girlfriend,Touke Smith gets from him being the mother of two of his kids)and his current wife. He likes to live a certain lifestyle and that includes selling out. Then again wasn't Midnight Run selling out as well?

Julie Roberts must give the best bjs in the biz knowing every piece of the three piece set and the male g-pot as well! What a horrid worthless peiece of shit she was.

Marion Cotillard gave one of the best performances of the year in Rust and Bone and one of the worst in Dark Knight. Her death scene in Dark Knight remains possibly the worst death scene in the history of Hollywood. Lohan's fainting spell in Liz and Dick was far more real than that. I hope that Cotillard wins Worst actress in the Razzies and Best Actress in the Oscars. I hope she accepts the Razzie that would be utterly fabulous.....

by Anonymousreply 23912/30/2012

Olivia Newton-John

by Anonymousreply 24012/30/2012
Absolutely, Brad Pitt. And mainly because he gets great roles others could have made memorable. Read the worst reviews for "Benjamin Button", (mainly as a second-rate Forrest Gump") and yet he got an oscar nomination over some great performances.

This. He and the industry have foisted him on some potentially brilliant roles and movies surrounded by the best talent only for him to give his usual tepid, safe (at best) performances when a more talented actor would have created something far more interesting. Brad Pitt had no business being in Fight Club, Seven, Burn Before Reading or Moneyball. But he seems to get first pick of the best projects.

Bizarrely, he's never really carried a movie to success on his own like, say Will Smith or Tammy do or did regularly. He's a movie star but more for tabloid reasons than box office.

by Anonymousreply 24112/30/2012

Adam Sandler. And FUGLY.

by Anonymousreply 24212/30/2012
I hope that Cotillard wins Worst actress in the Razzies and Best Actress in the Oscars. I hope she accepts the Razzie that would be utterly fabulous.....

Sandra Bullock did just that.

by Anonymousreply 24312/30/2012

Sharon Stone in Casino.

I literally laughed during her scenes. I can think of no other actor that has made me laugh like that. And then she ruthlessly and shamelessly tried to get an Oscar for that piece of doo doo.

by Anonymousreply 24412/30/2012

Both Helen Hunt and Kate Beckinsale They never change their looks, voice or eat/drink foods in a movie.

by Anonymousreply 24603/15/2013

I agree that both Tom Hanks and Adam Sandler are among the worst actors (misnomer). Is that why we keep finding their old movies at 2nd hand stores? By the way, how many knew that Tom Hanks got the stranded guy on an island idea from a cute screen saver with the same name?

I disagree that Brad Pitt is a bad actor. He can change and has had terrific roles where I didn't even know it was him! (Great acting)

by Anonymousreply 24703/15/2013

I like Adam Sandler and his movies, they're usually good for some laughs.

by Anonymousreply 24803/15/2013

Actually McBongo redeemed himself for me with his performance in Killer Joe this past year. Really frightening and strangely sexy.

by Anonymousreply 24903/15/2013

Brad Pitt, bland and unconvincing in almost every film he's every been in. He's there to look good, which is baffling as I don't find him attractive either, his blandless undermines his looks, and btw I'm a woman writing this

by Anonymousreply 25003/23/2013

Brad Pitt is just unwatchable for me. I weep at the many roles he's ruined because he gets to pick and what a truly talented actor would have done with them.

Keanu Reeves is as wooden but unlike Pitt, is self-aware enough to know he has no talent.

by Anonymousreply 25103/24/2013

by Anonymousreply 25403/24/2013

Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt

their bad acting is an insult to my intelligence

by Anonymousreply 25503/26/2013
I can't make up my mind; a LOT Of these people suck.
I agree.

There needs to be brackets, to see who out of the lot of these bad actors, is truly actually the worst.

by Anonymousreply 25603/26/2013

Lee Pace

by Anonymousreply 25703/26/2013

Maybe these people get to where they are because of who they know or are related to, not because they are esp. good at what they do?

by Anonymousreply 25803/26/2013

Perfect review of a Kate Hudson film...

by Anonymousreply 25903/26/2013

I don't know how this expressionless, epithom of blandness hasn't been named already:

CHRISTIAN BALE

What a terrible, terrible actor.

Other than that, Nic Cage. Ben Affleck. Tom Cruise. Brad Pitt.

Keanu Reeves is in a special world of his own and also he acknowledges his non-acting which makes him all the more worthy of respect.

Sean Penn playing something other than a variation of himself (Milk) is horrible to watch.

by Anonymousreply 26003/26/2013

I'm also very close to nominating Bradley Cooper in the douche category

by Anonymousreply 26103/26/2013

McBoingo

Kevin Costner

by Anonymousreply 26203/26/2013

McBongo is horrible.

by Anonymousreply 26303/26/2013

Gerard Butler owns this thread.

His movies bomb one after another. His latest movie "Olympus Has Fallen" cost $70 million to make and didn't even reach #1 at the box office, making a pitiful $33 million this past weekend.

He does not have what it takes to be a lead.

by Anonymousreply 26403/26/2013

I can't believe it took 220 replies for somebody to finally say Denise Richards.

by Anonymousreply 26509/18/2013

Ben Affleck

Kevin Costner

by Anonymousreply 26609/18/2013

McBongo Channing Tatum

by Anonymousreply 26709/18/2013

Keira Knightley THE ABSOLUTE WORST

by Anonymousreply 26809/18/2013

Orlando Bloom is atrocious. I don't know if he's still working but he shouldn't be.

by Anonymousreply 26909/18/2013

The two at the top of my list are Mark Wahlberg and Kristen Stewart.

I also want to mention Russell Crowe. I feel when I'm watching him act that he's doing a take-off on Richard Burton. Not in every movie, but in most. I guess it works for him, though.

by Anonymousreply 27009/18/2013

Channing Tatum.

by Anonymousreply 27109/18/2013
Gerard Butler owns this thread. His movies bomb one after another. His latest movie "Olympus Has Fallen" cost $70 million to make and didn't even reach #1 at the box office, making a pitiful $33 million this past weekend. He does not have what it takes to be a lead.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST ACTOR/PRODUCER/DIRECTOR IN THE WORLD IS WILL FERRELL NONE IS WORSE THAN HIM ALL HIS STUFF SHOULD HAVE BARF BAGS WITH IT AND SONIC EAR PLUGS AND BLINDFOLDS

by Anonymousreply 27910/18/2013

Rooney Mara. What a bland, humorless bore. Kristen Stewart Channing Tatum Alex Pettyfyr

They need to just leave. Now.

by Anonymousreply 28010/19/2013

without question wil ferell is the worst actor /director /producer in history

by Anonymousreply 28107/30/2014

Alex Pettyfer is horrid

by Anonymousreply 28207/30/2014

Bradley Cooper. He is definitely the modern day William Shatner. The guy has zero range. Parts are dumbed down for his lack of talent. He only gets by because women and gays think he's good looking, and perhaps he is. But a good actor, worthy of an Oscar nod? Absolutely not. He really does have the range of William Shatner. We've seen everything he has to offer, and that is only his own range of emotions. He goes nowhere with his characters because he can't. I hope he is burned horribly especially his face so we don't have to put up with him any longer. The Hangover movies suck. Asshole Sniper sucks. Everything he does sucks.

by Anonymousreply 28303/05/2015

R283 William Shatner is a riot . Rather watch him in something over Cooper everyday.

by Anonymousreply 28403/05/2015

Nicolas Cage is too bad. Zoey Deschannel is even worse

by Anonymousreply 28503/05/2015

Angelina, Brad, Keanu, Tom Cruise, Paltrow, so many.

by Anonymousreply 28603/05/2015

Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Keanu Reeves, Mark Wahlberg

by Anonymousreply 28703/06/2015

Kevin Costner Anne Hathaway

by Anonymousreply 28803/06/2015

I would reply with Kristen Stewart, but I just, you know, don't really feel like it. And, actually, this isn't really my thing anyway. I don't know.

by Anonymousreply 28903/06/2015

I used to think it was Kevin Klein and Emile Hirsch, but I think it was just 2 REALLY badly directed movies they were in. When the dialog and facial expression become like TV you know it's a horrible director causing it.

by Anonymousreply 29003/06/2015

Ben Affleck

by Anonymousreply 29103/06/2015

I've been re watching the sopranos and the kid who played Jackie Aprile Jr is atrocious. There is no difference between him and a plank of wood. I don't know if he's still getting work but he shouldn't be. Steven Van Zant wasn't too spectacular either.

by Anonymousreply 29203/06/2015

Who has Keanu fucked these long years since he came during the 80s?

by Anonymousreply 29303/06/2015

I find Justin timberlake to be just awful. I was watching friends with benefits and he was so wooden. There's a couple other pieces of shit ive seen in him. Sienna miller was horrible in American Sniper as well. I might be the only person who thought good will hunting was a turd, and matt damon was awful.

by Anonymousreply 29403/06/2015

Seth Rogen is probably the worst human being and least talented pile of shit in Hollywood, and that says a lot.

by Anonymousreply 29503/06/2015

To be fair a lot of the names are not bad actors. Cruise was very good in Jerry Maguire and magnolia, Bradley Cooper is actually one of the few good actors today(at least American),Affleck was good in the town, pitt is not good per se but far from the worst as is whalberg.

by Anonymousreply 29603/06/2015

r294, you're just making stuff up.

by Anonymousreply 29703/06/2015

Fuck you talking bout 297?

by Anonymousreply 29803/06/2015

Kristen Stewart is the moody territorial bitch smoking a stub that you trip over in the alley behind the dyke club.

by Anonymousreply 29903/06/2015

Vince Vaughn.

by Anonymousreply 30003/06/2015

Connor Paolo.

by Anonymousreply 30103/06/2015

Christian Bale is pretty bad. Except, perhaps, in American Psycho, but that is simply down to good casting.

by Anonymousreply 30203/06/2015

Ben Affleck!!

by Anonymousreply 30303/06/2015

Definitely Seth Rogan, aka Foghorn Leghorn. "The Guilt Trip" was not a great movie--Barbra was actually pretty wonderful in it--but it would have been so much better if someone other than Rogan had been cast as the son.

by Anonymousreply 30403/06/2015

How do lousy actors get parts to begin with? How did they ever get a start in the biz? That's what I want to know. Is it luck, casting couch, nepotism? What?

by Anonymousreply 30503/06/2015

I'll stick to A listers who can't act for shit.

Leo di caprio - can't believe people think he can act.

George Clooney & Ben Affleck - blank holes in the screen.

Christian Bale - he loses weight, he gains weight, he still can't act.

by Anonymousreply 30603/06/2015

R302 I agree. I thought he was stale ham in American Hustle with his heavily leaned-on wig prop, that movie is spayed Scorcese with vanilla orange Amy still flavorless, her accent fumblings were noticed by many but her titty bags glowed and eclipsed all glaring mistakes. Jenniferrrrrt, America's delightful kittenfart was too young to play those parts in both AH and Silver Linings, another overhyped mess. I smell cocaine.

by Anonymousreply 30703/06/2015

Kevin Costner?

by Anonymousreply 30803/06/2015

that guy who waas fat. made the movie with channing tatoms in that 21 jump street moviwhe also ugly fucker and he a lard ass again

by Anonymousreply 30903/06/2015

Not Hollywood but Vincent d'Onfrio has to be one of the most self-indulgent actors I've ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 31003/06/2015

Harrison Ford

by Anonymousreply 31103/06/2015

R294 I also recognize Good Will Hunting to be a turd, I hated everything about it and those Oscars they got for it were so bought and sold. Speaking of awards that are shit won by shit did you know Justin Timberlake won an Emmy for an SNL skit? Because when you think Outstanding Comedic Actor you think Timberlake. I heard that Brad Pitt's hair dryer walked off the set many times during the Interview With The Vampire shoot.

by Anonymousreply 31203/07/2015

Cruise played himself in Magnolia.

I just can't watch this movie, he totaly creeps me out.

by Anonymousreply 31303/07/2015

by Anonymousreply 31503/07/2015

by Anonymousreply 31603/07/2015

Tom Cruise was soooo creepy in magnolia and he was definitely playing himself. Actually a powerful performance

by Anonymousreply 31703/07/2015

Keira Knightley. Her Pride & Prejudice is the first time I've ever wanted Darcy to end up with Caroline Bingley instead.

by Anonymousreply 31803/07/2015

Seth Rogan= Foghorn Leghorn is really perfect...

by Anonymousreply 31903/07/2015

oprah cant act shes just reading lines

by Anonymousreply 32103/07/2015

aren't they all terrible? i mean the most vapid people are models, and usually in Hollyweird, models transition to become actors when they reach a certain age.

by Anonymousreply 32203/07/2015

r320, maybe it is all the PR some of them get. I, too, fail to see why so many actors are considered great when they don't seem to measure up.

by Anonymousreply 32303/07/2015

Jennifer Anniston...the absolute worst!

by Anonymousreply 32403/07/2015

Benjamin Mckenzie is TERRIBLE on Gotham. His facial expressions are unintentionally hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 32503/07/2015

Johnny Depp. Keeps making bombs too yet still gets hired.

by Anonymousreply 32603/07/2015

Keanu's offers have dried up. So Brad Pitt for me.

by Anonymousreply 32703/07/2015

That guy who plays Sam on the TV shoe "Supernatural". His facial expressions are ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 32803/07/2015

Lorenzo Lamas in Body Rock (or pretty much anything).

by Anonymousreply 32903/07/2015

by Anonymousreply 33003/07/2015

by Anonymousreply 33103/07/2015

Not Hollywood film, but...

Amy Allan of the TV show: The Dead Files.

Is it a unique ability to see and speak with the spirits, or a poor performer with gestures, mannerism, and commentaries obviously faked and repetitive? She sure has a knack for describing the perceived entities as 'pissed'.

At least the stories and locations of the dwellings involved offer a bit of curiosity.

by Anonymousreply 33203/13/2015

I don't care if it's been said before- it bears repeating.

Jennifer Hudson.

by Anonymousreply 33303/13/2015

by Anonymousreply 33403/13/2015

R334 Great line man, I WWed you. When someone WW's you - do you feel it, like a little spectral tickle on your ass or something?

by Anonymousreply 33503/13/2015

Hugh Jackman. I love Hugh but I'm sorry, he is not that good of an actor. I also feel he does a lousy job when hosting awards shows such as the Tony's, too over the top and corny.

The worst actor in Hollywood is either Jodie Foster or Candace Bergin. I can't watch either one. They put so much effort into acting it makes me uncomfortable watching them.

by Anonymousreply 34505/27/2015

I do not know if there are horrible actors but some maybe overrated. I do not get some of the praise they get but here is my list of overrated:

Tina Fey: Snarky and annoying George Clooney: Same as Fey Josh Brolin: As good as his father

Most singers who do films are not that good either (Madonna, Justin Timberlake, etc).

I still give them credit; I could never attempt to go into acting. The money is nice though :)

by Anonymousreply 34605/27/2015

Among recent Oscar winners. Halle Berry is mightily underwhelming.
