Francois Arnaud - hottie star of "The Borgias"
Plays the eldest son of Jeremy Irons in the new Vatican crime drama, "The Borgias".
He is French Canadian and has mainly appeared in French Quebec productions until now. He was in a film by gay filmmaker Xavier Dolan in which he played Dolan's boyfriend.
Rumoured to also be gay in real life.

Please provide a link to the rumors.

There's a multi-page discussion about it here in French on this Quebec website. Many posters say they know for a fact he is gay because he has been seen with his boyfriend in Montreal and kissing guys in Montreal's gay village:

Best scene in I killed my mother:
|by Anonymous||reply 3||04/12/2011|
They played part of that scene when he was interviewed on t.v. recently and I think he blushed.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||04/12/2011|
He has no presence. Looks like a cross between young Travolta and young Ian McShane. No spark. Not a good actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||04/12/2011|
Well it *is* only The Borgias...
I think he's really hot, and he was pretty good in I killed my mother.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||04/12/2011|
I think "The Borgias" is better than "The Tudors".
|by Anonymous||reply 8||04/14/2011|
Not true. He is going out with Montreal actress Evelyne Brochu. I saw them kiss in a restaurant this week.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||04/15/2011|
Ive met him in new york. He's not gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||04/15/2011|
R9, I kissed my fag at Sunday brunch last week and I'm as gay as they come.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||04/15/2011|
R10, how do you know based on just meeting him?
|by Anonymous||reply 13||04/15/2011|
Me and a couple of friends spent a whole night with him and he ended up banging my best friend (a girl).
|by Anonymous||reply 14||04/15/2011|
Then how come so many of the Quebec posters at the above link say he is gay and is seen kissing guys in Montreal?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||04/15/2011|
They could probably have left out the paint part, not to mention the silly hissy-fit with the bedroom linens - hey, somebody had to wash that stuff! - and just gone with the smooth naked writhing. My take anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||04/16/2011|
I don't think that an actor who has a girlfriend would be out and about kissing guys in public... unless he really is a cunt.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||04/16/2011|
I think it's all wishful thinking. Everytime someone hot comes into public eye, everyone assumes they're gay. It would be nice to fantasize about, but maybe we won't know for sure until he comes out, if ever.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||04/16/2011|
It's well known here in Montreal that he is gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||04/16/2011|
"Plays the eldest son of Jeremy Irons in the new Vatican crime drama, "The Borgias"."%0D %0D I think you could have safely said "He plays Cesare Borgia" and left it at that...%0D %0D At least, I hope you could...
|by Anonymous||reply 21||04/16/2011|
Actors PR people really do scour the net trying to debunk the gay rumors and when that fails they send in the imdb fangurls. So transparent. That means you r9/r10.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||04/16/2011|
The first time I ever saw or heard of him was when watching J'ai tu%C3%A9 ma m%C3%A8re. I fell instantly in love with him. The movie was really good, too.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||04/16/2011|
This is so sad and pathetic. The guy has a girlfriend. But gay men can't fantasize on him until they 'prove' that he's just like them. They don't want to be stuck with Neil Patrick Harris and Chris COlfer. ;) understandable
|by Anonymous||reply 24||04/16/2011|
R24, have you been paying attention? Many Quebecers have said he is gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||04/16/2011|
A good friend of mine went to theater school with him. He has always been hetero-flexible. He was with girls but experimented with guys a coupe of times. He was always very opened and light-hearted about it. Didnt seem to bother him at all. He has a girlfriend now.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||04/18/2011|
I don't care if Francois is gay or straight, I don't think his casting in this series is right.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||04/18/2011|

R26, I'm not sure if I buy that. I find it suspicious that all of a sudden there are people here claiming he likes girls and has a girlfriend
|by Anonymous||reply 29||04/18/2011|
Cesare needed a more flamboyant, volatile autocratic actor most likely; someone who could have ignited with Jeremy Irons the very same chemistry he had with Anthony Andrews in Brideshead.
An oppurtunity missed but still, passable performance.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||04/18/2011|
I think his performance is great. I think he's the most interesting character on the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||04/18/2011|
I think the dialogue on "The Borgias" is much better than "The Tudors". Much more nuanced.
I actually think Arnaud holds his own against Irons. When Irons plays ham-fisted, Arnaud plays more vulnerable. I really enjoy the character of Cesare, he's become my favorite on the show. I like that Arnaud added layers of depth to him that are more than just being an ambitious killer. You end up rooting for a murderous villain which is no easy feat.
Plus, Jeremy Irons can act circles around Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||04/19/2011|
I think Arnaud's character is the best too. He is ruthless but you can see his vulnerability and his complexity. And that dark, brooding quality is so hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||04/19/2011|
The Borgias were Spanish. Why do all the actors sound British? They couldn't find a real Spanish actor to play the main character, at least.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||04/19/2011|
British accents are preferred in historical dramas.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||04/19/2011|
Francois is interviewed on Access Hollywood:
|by Anonymous||reply 37||04/19/2011|
Someone please hit on him, and find out if he has a big uncut French cock.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||04/20/2011|
Hopefully we will see lots of him on tonight's episode
|by Anonymous||reply 39||04/24/2011|
There were a few brief ass shots tonight of Francois Arnaud and the hot twink who is involved with Lucretia, but unfortunately none of the shots gave a full-on, clear view.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/02/2011|
Hot fucking scene tonight. And then you have that kid who played Freddie on UK third and fourth seasons of SKINS.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/02/2011|
That hot twink was also in SKINS. He played Effy's boyfriend Freddie.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/02/2011|
I just wish we had seen proper ass shots of Francois Arnaud and the other twink instead of side views.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/07/2011|
It has been renewed for a 2nd season.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/08/2011|
They showed the younger brother's ass tonight in a sex scene, so it looks like each of the guys is getting some nudity to do.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/10/2011|
Here's a hot photo of Luke Pasqualino who plays the twink that Lucretia is having an affair with:
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/10/2011|
New episode tonight.
2nd-last one of the season.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/15/2011|
Anyone in Montreal heard anything else about him? Is it true he's gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/23/2011|
i'm pretty sure everyone in Montreal is gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/23/2011|
Apparently he did a lot of nudity in his Quebec films prior to his big breakthrough on The Borgias, so now all his Borgias fans are trying to order them. The Canadian distributors are running out of copies.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/24/2011|
Interviewed in French, with a clip from his gay film:
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/31/2011|
It used to be that new actors were in horrors (Depp, Bacon Jason Alexander ;)
Now they play gay. For pay. Ola!
|by Anonymous||reply 53||04/15/2012|
Not gay, another one like Legolas - beautiful as Cesare, not so much as himself, though it appears that, unlike Bloom, Arnaud can actually act.
His voice is gorgeous. Made for theater. As a playwright, would love to cast him
|by Anonymous||reply 54||04/22/2012|
He strikes me as incredibly sexless and I can't imagine why he hasn't had the two giant moles on his forehead taken off.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||04/22/2012|
How do you know he's not gay, R54?
|by Anonymous||reply 56||04/22/2012|
Who knows and why should we care anyway? Francois is a person and a fabulous actor. Give him credit where credit is due. Whether he is gay or whether he has a girlfriend does not take anything away from his abiities as an actor. Let the rumors go. They do not matter. All we know he is incredibly busy with his career and developing a wonderful body of work which I believe he said in an interview is what he wants to be known for. He does not care about being famous. Yes he is very handsome, but more importantly is that he enjoys what he is doing and that he is a good person. Whatever the rumors are they are ridiculous. Let us enjoy what he is giving to us - his incredible acting.

Is François gay or not???
