George Michael and Partner Kenny Goss Split

George Michael and Partner Kenny Goss Split

By PopEater Staff; Posted Mar 7th 2011 03:30AM

Reports are coming in from the U.K., stating that George Michael's partner Kenny Goss has left the singer.

The Sun reports that Goss, Michael's partner for more than 15 years, finally had enough of the singer's troubled lifestyle, especially his ongoing problems with drugs and Michael's infamous arrest and conviction last year.

In October last year, Michael had pleaded guilty to two drug charges and served 27 days of an eight-week sentence for crashing his car into a photo booth while under the influence of marijuana.

A source close to the couple is quoted saying, "The writing has been on the wall for some time. There are only so many second chances Kenny was prepared to give. He's been loyal to George from day one, but that hasn't always been reciprocated."

Goss, 51, and Michael, 47, were staying together in London, and the source went on to say that Goss ran a very successful gallery in the U.S. and often traveled to take care of his business.

And with Goss away for work, the time spent apart by the couple was considerable, and it got worse during the last couple of years.

The source concluded by saying, "It's really sad, but hopefully this could be the wake-up call George needs."

The Daily Mail reports that Michael was recently was on the BBC Radio 2's 'The Chris Evans Breakfast Show' where he told the host that he deserved to be jailed for crashing his Range Rover while high on cannabis, describing it as "karma."

He also said he was "ashamed" to have broken the law repeatedly, adding that he was now in therapy for his drug problems.

Good for the partner. I thought he should have done that a long time ago. It is clear that GM is just not relationship material.

by Anonymousreply 103/07/2011

They are making strenuous denials now.

by Anonymousreply 203/07/2011

George Michael is a train wreck as a "spokesperson" for the gay movement.

God, I wish he wasnt a liberal too

by Anonymousreply 303/07/2011

Good for Goss. Smart decision, if it's true.

by Anonymousreply 403/07/2011

Kenny is a big ol' mess, too. And he hasn't been "loyal to George from day one" like the article says. He's had fuck buddies for years. Kenny is only leaving now because the gravy train done run off the tracks.

I think it might be good for George, too. His creative block and laziness seems to have largely overlapped with their relationship. However, I've heard his new Comic Relief single today, which is a cover of "True Faith" by New Order, and it's cringeworthy. A heavily vocodered lounge rendition of a synthpop classic.

I've always thought Kenny cheated because George wanted an open relationship.%0D %0D Shame because Goss was gorgeous at one point. Why would you feel the need to cheat on that?

by Anonymousreply 703/07/2011

Kenny is not hot anymore. George is still hot.

by Anonymousreply 803/07/2011

Well, he obviously wasn't staying for the $$$.

by Anonymousreply 903/07/2011

Why is this even news? I mean, it's not like it's some revered relationship. These guys live in different countries, lead different lives and fuck/have relationships with other people. Why are we supposed to care about some relationship that is insignificant to the actual parties involved?

by Anonymousreply 1003/07/2011

Is Kenny finally tired of people saying, "I thought he had a boyfriend?" whenever George Michael is caught soliciting sex in a public space or he's bailing hookers out of jail.

by Anonymousreply 1103/07/2011

George issued a denial on twitter, then in a call to a talk show. The allegations aren't about him, however, they're about Kenny, and Kenny has been silent so far. The guy from the Sun stood by the story in a tweet.

by Anonymousreply 1203/07/2011

Goss is 51 - Michael is 47. In gay years - that's a decade.

Michael still has a lot of steam left in him. He is still sowing his oats.

by Anonymousreply 1303/07/2011

George spends a lot of time in Sydney nowadays lapping up the local sights. I doubt he cares less what Kenny G is doing.

by Anonymousreply 1403/07/2011

I was really hoping that George would get his shit together. He is a nice enough person, with a shitload of issues. Kenny was good for him, and the only stable thing in his life.

by Anonymousreply 1503/07/2011

Why do they pretend to be together when they are not? It is weird because quite a few gay couples are like this, like Richard Chamberlain and his bf.

by Anonymousreply 1603/08/2011

Anyone in Dallas have any news about this?%0D %0D George continues to deny the split. Kenny however hasn't been seen with him in 2011, nor has he issued any public statement to confirm or deny.

by Anonymousreply 1703/12/2011

George said in an interview taped a couple days ago, "Kenny will never leave me."%0D %0D I thought it was a strange choice of words, almost a threat.

by Anonymousreply 1803/12/2011

Well if guys can be a couple without ever being seen together, then I'm ready to announce that I'm happily partnered with Drew Brees!

by Anonymousreply 1903/12/2011

Kenny has a lot of class. Even in the 13 years Kenny never spoke much. I think he really loved George. AS much as I am a fan of George, I am disappionted in him. One day he may have regrets. The thing is , we really don't know the reasons they split. We can only base it on the gossip we hear. I do know when I see photos of Fadi with George I wish I was near enough to Fadi and just happen to have a blow dart. I think George and Kenny made a nice couple. Maybe one day they wii get back together. Wishful thinking.

by Anonymousreply 2002/07/2013

[quote]Kenny has a lot of class. Even in the 13 years Kenny never spoke much.

Fadi started off as an escort, Kenny may have too. George has never been explicit as to how he meets his partners, which is telling.

When you wield financial power over someone, you can control their behavior. Kenny's "class" may have been enforced. He's still a dependent, an employee of George's art foundation, so George's control over his behavior may be ongoing.

by Anonymousreply 2102/07/2013

Kenny's probably too drunk too give a coherent interview.

by Anonymousreply 2202/07/2013

"Mr. Michael, Andrew Ridgeley is on line 2."
