Bryan Singer releases statement, says Fox wouldn't allow him to take care of ill parent

Mmm-hmm.

Earlier today, we reported that 20th Century Fox had fired director Bryan Singer from Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody after he essentially stopped showing up to the set, with other reports saying that he had clashed with star Rami Malek and that he was suffering from “post-traumatic stress disorder” over tensions on the set of the film. Now, Singer has released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that tells his side of the story, explaining that he had been absent from set because he needed to help an ill family member. He claims that he did ask Fox for some time off, but he says the studio simply fired him rather than let him go take care of his sick parent.

FOX has the power to dig up all of the dirt on Singer, and really make his life a living hell.

If he is the nightmare that everyone claims he is to work with, he should feel lucky that they didn't take him down completely.

However, if he keeps mouthing off, this guy is going to be FINISHED.

Interesting comment at AV Club:

Years ago, I realized that there’s one extremely common tell for when someone is lying: regardless of how overdetermined an incident might be, people can almost always provide a single overriding explanation for why they ended up doing something. “I was late because I overslept.” But when someone wants to lie about why they did something, they’re weirdly compelled to spin out multiple overlapping explanations instead. “Ugh, I’m sorry I’m late—I was already out the door when I realized I left my umbrella at home, and then when I got to the train station, I had to wait ten minutes for a train to show up . . .”

Suffice it to say, Singer’s explanation that “my unspecified parent was sick, and then I got sick, and then Fox got mad because I was sick . . .” does not have a strong ring of truth to it.

There was a Gawker (or similar publication) story on Singer a few years ago that claimed he was always careful to make sure his twinks were legal. Allegedly he had his people supply him with 18-19 year olds who looked 15-16.

A sex worker posted here a while back that an escort agency once sent him to a party at Singer's place. At 22 he was too old for Singer's tastes but the agency sent him because he could pass for a teen. He also said that all the guys at the party seemed legal. Hmm.

But if Singer really did confine himself to young-looking legal age guys, then where is the scandal?

There was a guy who posted on Facebook a few weeks ago that the Entin twins held him down while Singer assaulted him. That is what is going to break, that he assaulted guys. He is reportedly careful to card twinks at his parties, yes.

But.. he was also very closely involved with Marc Collins Rector who is a convicted sex offender on whose computer the Spanish police found thousands of images of child abuse. Rector's ex partner Chad Shackley was 15 when Rector started dating him. Singer knew that. He also knew their colleague / fellow party host Brock Pierce. Pierce is a virtual currency pioneer, and my hunch is that Singer -along with a number of other high profile men including Steven Mnuchin and Geffin - have made a lot of money from bitcoin enabled pornography, including of the illegal variety. I think that is the story that will break over time.

It would including Fox selling the X-Men property which would rightly place both the X-Men and The Fantastic Four in the Marvel film universe with Cap, Iron Man, Avengers, etc. I would assume Bryan would get kicked to the curb and they would totally reboot the X-Men; to either include them within the Marvel U or build off of the few X-Men that showed up in the Deadpool film. Bryan Singer's Fox Offices Shut Down
Bryan Singer’s production company, Bad Hat Harry, is vacating its offices on the lot of Twentieth Century Fox.
Singer had a three-year first-look deal with the studio that concluded at the end of October. The deal was not renewed, but he was granted an extension allowing Bad Hat Harry to remain in the offices for the duration of the Rhapsody shoot.
However, that changed on Monday when Fox decided to terminate Singer's involvement in the film.
The move follows the director's firing from 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'

If people who have been victimized are smart, they're soon going to avoid going to the media first, especially if they know, as in Singer's case, that accusations have been around for a long time. This is why companies are quick to fire Spacey, Masterson, etc. Their liability is bad enough if they knew they were risks and exploitation was going on.

Smart people will lawyer up and will go for shakedowns and settlements first, not just from Bryan, whose pockets may be deep but with money forever. The studios are the cash cow. Fox is a monster when it comes to how much money it has. If Fox senses lawsuits are coming its way, it may not be able to avoid the past, but it can avoid the future damages before he's just an easy target when he does nothing on set.

Rami Malek is not known for being a problem or getting into arguments with filmmakers. Bryanna on the other hand tends to have diva hissy fits. Rumor has it that him and Halle Berry got into a major argument during the making of one of the X-Men films when she walked in on him having sex with an underage boy.

I also think this is Fox getting him out of the way before selling the X-Men property to Disney.

Edmund Entin's Wikipedia page contains an interesting note

Edmund and his brother Gary began their filming careers in the backyard of their "Uncle Michael." The house was located in Southwest Ranches, FL. They would write plots, pick out their cast from the neighborhood kids, and film movies.

Someone needs to work out who this Uncle Michael is, because it sounds like they've been involved in grooming kids for older pervs for a long time.

Meanwhile, Gary's page is marked for deletion as he isn't important enough to have a Wikipedia page, ha.

He's dark, really really messed up energy, like surrounded by demons and shit.

Completely unrelated to anything worthwhile, but the high school band teacher I mentioned in another thread a day or so ago who would grope students, both male and female, was like this. A friend of mine one day mentioned that most of the time, when someone walks near you, you can feel it even if you can't immediately see them there, but the band teacher could walk up right behind you or pass you while walking down a hallway and you'd have no idea until he was well past you. Couldn't hear him, couldn't feel the displacement of air, nothing.

I've always imagined Singer the same way.

Keith Miller AKA Jeff Sterne (the founder of Helix Studios) is good friends with Bryan Singer. LOTS of Helix Boys have been to his infamous pool parties. One Helix Boy by the name of Anderson Lovell was bragging and tweeting photos of himself on the set of one of the X-Men films that came out a few years ago. I'm guessing Singer either made him an extra or he was one of Singer's top bitches.

Keith Miller AKA Jeff Sterne (the founder of Helix Studios)

Does he still own it? Or do you know when he sold it? Helix used to gross me out how they'd seem to go out of their way to make their models seem even younger - like they'd decorate their sets like young kids rooms and stuff. They seemed to have stopped that more recently.

Rumor has it that him and Halle Berry got into a major argument during the making of one of the X-Men films when she walked in on him having sex with an underage boy.

Details, please. I Googled it but this is all I could find:

there was the time Halle Berry allegedly got into a fight with Singer and told him to “kiss [her] black ass” on the set of X2. During an interview with Empire, Singer laughed it off and said the quote was actually, “You can watch my black ass while I walk out of here,” but insisted that he and Berry are fine now.
The director, who was fired from the Freddie Mercury biopic, has reportedly exhibited unprofessional behavior for years, from hard-partying to sexual-assault allegations.

Apt Pupil wasn't terrible but it had the misfortune of coming out the same time as American History X which in spite of the post-production battle between Tony Kaye and Edward Norton, was a better film. Perhaps if Singer had spent more time developing the plot, particularly the search for the ex-Nazi, and less time on the irrelevant underage nudity, it would have been a better film.

Huffington is known to spend part of the summer on David Geffen's boat with a rotating cast of celebrities. Other times, it's Larry Ellison's boat. That would explain her cavorting around the Mediterranean this year. (UPDATE: Geffen owns a share of Ellison's boat, we're told, so we're talking about the same yacht in both cases.)"

Geffen is literally Ariana's best friend:

"Huffington loves to be around her girlfriends, and in fact one of her tricks is befriending the wives of rich and powerful men: Wendi Murdoch (Rupert’s wife), Kathy Freston (Tom’s wife), and Willow Bay (Bob Iger’s wife) are in her inner circle. Her best friend, though, is David Geffen, and the two have long been dates for each other at Hollywood events—he’s a fun gossip, self-effacing, and the only guy at the party without an agenda. Behind the scenes, Huffington will occasionally plot with him, but her influence in national politics on fund-raising, even in Los Angeles, is negligible. Her power is entirely based on her life in public."

He is having major anxiety over both the criminal investigation and about being exposed as a gay man This well-known Actor may have to out himself very soon if he wants to avoid getting entangled in the Bryan Singer investigation.

He is one of the many who was caught in the predatory trap set by the power players like Bryan Singer when he was just starting out as an actor.

While he definitely benefited from it career-wise, it is important to emphasize that he was a young guy when this happened, and that we do not think that he became a perpetrator himself later on.

Our Actor began his career in Hollywood in the 1990s and has worked very steadily ever since. He primarily does comedic films, and is famous for one particular role.

His Mom is probably more famous than him.

He is certain that his name is going to surface in the investigation, and he is having major anxiety over both the criminal investigation and about being exposed as a gay man.

He has dated beautiful women all these years, including a couple of famous actresses.

He was even engaged at one point.

But he is gay, and he is closeted, and he is worried about how being outed will affect his career.

His choices are to do nothing and hope that his name never surfaces in the investigation… or to let others out him and to let his name get dragged through the mud and then try to play defense… or to play offense and out himself and tell his own story before that happens.

He is leaning towards the latter right now. We wish him well.

Our director heard the actor is gay, but had not been able to close the deal no matter how many carrots he offered. Lets go back in the day.

This actress was A list.

Mostly movies and always quirky.

When this group of people had a “pretty” movie she was not usually invited.

When they needed reality and good acting they cast her.

She has worked infrequently since her heyday.

Producers and directors grew up with her movies and want to cast her, but the roles are generally a cameo or stunt casting.

Nothing real.

Then, along came this A list director.

He had a project for her. He found out she knew this up and coming barely legal actor.

Our director heard the actor is gay, but had not been able to close the deal no matter how many carrots he offered.

He had a very very big carrot to offer and that is not some sexual innuendo.

He had a big part in a franchise but the actor wasn’t interested in the casting couch route.

Our director offered our actress a few roles here and there an even a guest gig in the franchise at some point if she could talk the actor into having sex with the director.

For two months she worked on it and the actor, still a teenager at the time, hooked up with the director.

The director cast the actor in the role.

The director then cast our actress in a role to watch over the actor and make sure he stayed available to the director.

For a year, that was her job.

To monitor the sex life of the actor and make sure he only hooked up with the director.

This guy is so strange.

He did come through on the roles and the guest gig in the franchise though.

The posters who were saying earlier that Singer is noted for being careful and carding his trade, and that they’re always legal...

I think that’s the case nowadays - since the first round of scandal got out several years ago.

But before that - I gather that he and his kindred spirits weren’t quite that strict at all.

I suspect what’s really got him/them spooked are the prospect of multiple historical allegations going back to those halcyon days...

You hafta wonder how arrogant and entitled people would be to think that they could have such a sleazy scene repeatedly happening without it getting out.

On the other hand - they did do it a lot apparently - and still no one’s been indicted...

Yet.

What I don't understand is this: Singer seems to have two loves- underage twinks and cameras. Put them together and whaddya get?

Evidence!!!!!!!

As many have commented here, he seems to have no qualms about allowing himself to be photographed with a parade of twinks in pretty questionable circumstances. If that's the case, if he keeps allowing himself to be photographed, despite the gossip and the risk, then I think we can argue that the photos are a part of the fetish- trophies if you like. He can only enjoy these boys for a brief period before they age out, in his eyes....so perhaps he likes to be photographed with them and to photograph them himself because it preserves his conquests, freezing them at 17 forever.

And where there are photos, there's footage.. And where there are footage, there are sex tapes, right?

There was lots of rumors Cory Monteith used to be a hustler. He was a wild teen who roamed the streets trying to score drugs.

R199, the national news hasn't been on it because they have been helping to cover up these situations for the rich people.

That's why very little Jeffrey Epstein coverage. They don't want to talk about Geffen and pals either.

Bryan is like the gay version of Weinstein.

Bryan at least looks like he would be somewhat attractive if he weren't a creep. Weinstein is just gross on multiple levels.

"That's why very little Jeffrey Epstein coverage"

Or maybe it's because most people in the general public don't know who Epstein is and don't give a shit about him

--Anonymous
replies 212Dec 7, 2017 4:30 PM +00:00

The same could have been said of Weinstein, R212. The general public would be quite interested.

--Anonymous
replies 213Dec 7, 2017 4:35 PM +00:00

R212, the general public would know Prince Andrew, Alan Dershowitz and many of the other famous men who got with the underage girls that Epstein provided.

r213, he has produced movies that everyone has heard of. The general public does not care about Epstein.

r214, the stuff about Prince Andrew, etc. did make headlines but the public did not care that much.

No, it was all underplayed in the U.S., R215. We'll see when it comes up again as it invariably will.

--Anonymous
replies 217Dec 7, 2017 4:43 PM +00:00

"No, it was all underplayed in the U.S.,"

It was underplayed because the public didn't really care. If all those Epstein stories had gotten tons of clicks, the media would have kept reporting on it.

--Anonymous
replies 218Dec 7, 2017 4:45 PM +00:00

No, R218. It wasn't given the attention it deserved. A story involving a billionaire pedo, a Lolita jet, a pedo island, an ex-U.S. President, Prince Andew and more should have been front-page new for weeks.

I talked to people who had never heard of the story. When it is revisited, as it will be, all the networks will cover it extensively.

The U.S. media didn't report it because they were covering it up just like all these other stories. The media was protecting rich men which makes sense because that is who owns the media.

It was underreported, R220. I'm going to leave it at that now. Let's discuss again when it finally receives its proper coverage.

Exactly — how would anyone know about it if the media hadn't reported it?
