Liza Visits the Cast of "Something Rotten!"

She's looking pretty good but I don't think that "big comeback" Feinstein was talking about a few months ago is going to happen.

And she wanted to remember one of the show’s stars so much, she made sure somebody wrote down his name for her to keep.

"Here'sh the shong"

Here's a music video I made for my favorite film of all time, Return To Oz! I sent it to Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters, and he told me he'll watch it as soo...

Why is she in a wheelchair? Most people at 71 are still mobile, walking around on their own.

--I wish her the best.
replies 3Dec 2, 2017 3:58 PM +00:00

Liza is a national treasure.

Be nice. R3. She's had hip and knee replacements. All that dancing in concert and on Broadway has taken its toll.

replies 4Dec 2, 2017 4:08 PM +00:00

She probably has arthritis. It kept Lionel Barrymore in a wheelchair for his last 15 years mostly.

replies 5Dec 2, 2017 4:11 PM +00:00

This is going to sound very Mary! of me to say, but why LL Cool J is getting a Kennedy Center honor and she doesn't have on yet, I'll never know.

replies 6Dec 3, 2017 12:03 AM +00:00

I wish all the best to her. Glad to see her out and smiling.

replies 7Dec 3, 2017 12:05 AM +00:00

She looks horrid, on the border of death.

replies 8Dec 3, 2017 12:05 AM +00:00

She looks awful actually, her face is weird, like she had a stroke or something. 71 is not that old these days, she must have abused her body pretty hard over the decades.

replies 9Dec 3, 2017 12:42 AM +00:00

She made it to her seventies! She should do all the coking and boozing she wants at this point. Even if God forbid she overdoses like Mama, who's gonna even suspect a substance-related death at her age?

replies 10Dec 3, 2017 1:02 AM +00:00

Is she on good terms with her sister? I never got the impression they had much of a connection.

replies 11Dec 3, 2017 1:27 AM +00:00

I think they're cordial at the moment, R11. They've gone through periods of not speaking.

I feel bad for Liza. She never really had a chance. And no, having a lot of money doesn't make up for all the rest.

replies 12Dec 3, 2017 3:07 AM +00:00

Liza is going to rebound.

She will star in a movie adaptation of Anastasia and it will be filmed in CinemaScope

replies 13Dec 3, 2017 7:01 AM +00:00

Anashshtashia? ShinemaShcope?

--Shure! It'll be shenshational!
replies 14Dec 3, 2017 7:07 AM +00:00

I don’t understand why she’d never change her hair. How long has she kept it the same? Sixty years?

replies 15Dec 3, 2017 7:19 AM +00:00

RIP, Liza

replies 16Dec 3, 2017 7:42 AM +00:00

She's flat broke these days. The only asset she has are the Warhol paintings. Her SAG insurance premiums are close to being in arrears. Yet the cases of vodka keep showing up on her doorstep. She has no idea of how desperate her situation is. Liza has had the same handlers for decades and they are just as clueless as she is. They keep feeding into her fantasy that all is well. The charity of friends only goes on for so long, eventually they start kicking the bucket too.

replies 17Dec 3, 2017 4:20 PM +00:00

Liza back in her glory years when she won the Oscar in only her mid 20's.
replies 18Dec 3, 2017 4:23 PM +00:00

Time for granny porn, Liza!

replies 19Dec 3, 2017 6:51 PM +00:00

R13 Who will she play?

replies 20Dec 3, 2017 7:56 PM +00:00

Barbra, can you hear me? Barbra, can you see me? Barbra, can you lend me lots of bucks?

--Lisa with an S
replies 21Dec 3, 2017 8:54 PM +00:00

OMG, she looks beyond awful, poor lamb.

replies 22Dec 3, 2017 10:19 PM +00:00

Fuck you assholes, she looks great for what she's lived though. Post your pics and age and let us judge. I think not.

replies 23Dec 4, 2017 9:21 AM +00:00

When you consider other 70 year old women of showbiz these days, she really does seem quite infirm. And I doubt that the rest of them lived chaste lives of abstinence.

replies 24Dec 4, 2017 10:40 AM +00:00

"for what she's lives through" ?????? what, has she seen combat in Iraq? worked as a firefighter? fled Syria? the woman has had a life BEYOND privilege and looks nightmarishly bad. time to draw a veil over her. please.

replies 25Dec 6, 2017 6:39 AM +00:00

She's looking much better than she has over the last few years. She's in a wheel chair because she doesn't want to hobble around with a cane.

FFS give her a break. She's old, she's got serious spine issues and she's had multiple surgeries. She earned that fucking chair.

--LOVE her.
replies 26Dec 6, 2017 7:50 AM +00:00

I'm not sure where the "life beyond privilege" comes from, considering she had a mentally unwell mother who died when she was young, a closeted (and reportedly equally messed up) father, and all sorts of health and addiction problems of her own. Her life is interesting as hell but it hasn't always been privileged.

replies 27Dec 6, 2017 8:24 AM +00:00

I got my dreams from my father, but I learned to drive from my mother.

--Liza, gamin still.
replies 28Dec 6, 2017 1:22 PM +00:00
They've gone through periods of not speaking.

Anybody know why there has been tension between them? Was it due to professional jealousy?

replies 29Dec 6, 2017 6:33 PM +00:00

" All that dancing in concert and on Broadway has taken its toll."

Hip and knee replacements IMPROVE mobility. A friend's 79 y/o father is walking around fine after hip replacement - from crutches! I'll bet she's too high to walk. And yes, R27, I, too, believe she's closeted.

replies 30Dec 6, 2017 6:42 PM +00:00

If only for Cabaret she's way up there. As mentioned, that must have been a rough childhood and she may well have a genetic predisposition to addiction. I think the French (who can be nuts about many things) have the attitude that artists don't have to keep proving themselves--one or two great works is enough. I wish her well.

replies 31Dec 6, 2017 6:58 PM +00:00
Is she on good terms with her sister? I never got the impression they had much of a connection.

Well she connected with me very well once. As I've said many times here...

r30 joint replacements improve mobility until arthritis invades the area. It happens in all cases. Just a matter of time. Liza lives with chronic and debilitating pain.
