OCEAN'S 8's first official still

Sandra! Sarah! Helena! Rihanna! Cate! AnnE! Mindy! I can't wait!

replies 74Jan 30, 2017 12:28 PM +00:00

Right. Because this worked so well with"Ghostbusters."

replies 1Jan 30, 2017 1:35 PM +00:00

Love Cate! She's half-Texan you know.... (I'm Texan)

Not so much with Sandra, Sandy, whatever..... You will never convince me she didn't know her hubby was into Nazi stuff.

replies 2Jan 30, 2017 1:41 PM +00:00

This is going to be excellent.

replies 3Jan 30, 2017 2:42 PM +00:00

I tried to watch one of the Oceans movie with the guys and thought it was boring.

replies 4Jan 30, 2017 4:10 PM +00:00

I fucking hated the Oceans movie. I felt like I watching a video of a party that I wasn't invited to, but they liked me enough to show me a video of it. It was too self-indulgent and way too groovy for me.

replies 5Jan 30, 2017 4:20 PM +00:00

I agree with R5. I don't remember if I saw the film (don't remember which one) from start to finish but I just remember hating Brad Pitt and George Clooney. It's like they weren't even trying, bad acting (mostly with Pitt), bad writing, lazy lazy lazy. Also one of the few films where I didn't like Matt Damon.

replies 6Jan 30, 2017 4:25 PM +00:00

The first Ocean's film is great fun. The second feels as R5 described. The third is inoffensive, but doesn't capture the magic of the first. I have no strong opinions on Ocean's Eight, but the cast is strong.

replies 7Jan 30, 2017 4:31 PM +00:00

Is this about menopause?

replies 8Jan 30, 2017 4:57 PM +00:00

Sarah ("Bette Davis of America") is going to overshadow all of those bitches!

replies 9Jan 30, 2017 5:00 PM +00:00
("Bette Davis of America")

Wouldn't Bette Davis be the Bette Davis of America?

replies 10Jan 30, 2017 5:05 PM +00:00

R10 No!

replies 11Jan 30, 2017 5:08 PM +00:00

ah thanks r11.

and btw how did you make the youtube video start at the precise moment?

I want to learn that!!!

replies 12Jan 30, 2017 5:11 PM +00:00

R12 That's easy. Just pause the video, right click on the video box and select "Get video URL at current time."

replies 13Jan 30, 2017 5:16 PM +00:00

I didn't know Steve McQueen was so stupid. He's like Tony Blair of Great Britain.

replies 14Jan 30, 2017 5:19 PM +00:00

Matt Damon is supposed to have a cameo in this film. What will be his role?

replies 15Jan 30, 2017 5:24 PM +00:00

R15 George, Brad and Matt all have cameos. They play their Ocean's characters as this is a spinoff/sequel. Bullock plays Clooney's sister.

replies 16Jan 30, 2017 5:32 PM +00:00

Will there be any objectifying of men in this film?

replies 17Jan 30, 2017 5:34 PM +00:00

Richard Armitage and Damian Lewis are in it. So maybe.

replies 18Jan 30, 2017 5:36 PM +00:00

R8 Yup Should be called the "Menopausal 8" Who thought we needed another Oceans flick? The first was ok because of old time actors but the next couple were walk throughs.

replies 19Jan 30, 2017 10:39 PM +00:00

IMDB lists a ton of people in cameos--everyone from Kim Kardashian to Zayn Malik.

replies 20Jan 31, 2017 1:45 AM +00:00
Matt Damon is supposed to have a cameo in this film. What will be his role?

He plays Jan van der Boob.

replies 21Jan 31, 2017 4:40 AM +00:00

Yeesh, r21. Though, guess we can expect her to have a manly ass.

--Don Keye
replies 22Jan 31, 2017 5:08 AM +00:00

The writer of Ocean's Eight is highly creative, instead of Danny Ocean, Rusty and Linus - the characters are Donna Ocean, Dusty and Lisa. Mind-blowing! And they're THIEVES! But they're WOMEN!

replies 23Jan 31, 2017 5:15 AM +00:00

Wait. There's someone named Awkwafina? I'm assuming she's a rapper of some sort?

replies 24Jan 31, 2017 5:23 AM +00:00

Lets hope so R17.

replies 25Jan 31, 2017 5:28 AM +00:00

She's an Asian comedian-rapper

replies 26Jan 31, 2017 5:39 AM +00:00

The third Ocean's movie was basically just an excuse for the actors to have an extended European vacation on the studio's dime.

replies 27Jan 31, 2017 5:47 AM +00:00

Not the Rat Pack, but the Pussy Pack!

replies 28Jan 31, 2017 6:11 AM +00:00

Where is Carl Reiner?

replies 29Jan 31, 2017 6:18 AM +00:00

Awkafina? Sounds like a drag queen from the '70's.

replies 30Jan 31, 2017 10:40 AM +00:00

Which actress will be doing the mandatory dreadful Cockney accent?

--Don Cheadle
replies 31Jan 31, 2017 10:45 AM +00:00

R27 Wonder where they got that idea.

--Adam Sandler
replies 32Jan 31, 2017 11:00 AM +00:00
Though, guess we can expect her to have a manly ass.

replies 33Jan 31, 2017 3:43 PM +00:00
Which actress will be doing the mandatory dreadful Cockney accent?

They're bringing in Meryl for a cameo.

replies 34Jan 31, 2017 5:36 PM +00:00

Are they refugees from a plastic surgery clinic? This could be either great or awful. This is the movie where all of the cast members hate Cate Blanchett and her marriage fell apart during filming. The Met Gala heist seems very TV movie of the week but maybe it will be a good comedy. Sandra as a ripoff character named "Debbie Ocean" made me wary. Good luck menopause champions!

replies 35Jan 31, 2017 6:10 PM +00:00

I love ensemble heist movies. I'm not going to compare it to the male version. I'll just try to enjoy it on its own merit.

replies 36Jan 31, 2017 6:13 PM +00:00

They made 3 Ocean's films? I hated the one with Julia Roberts.

--Meryl Streep
replies 37Jan 31, 2017 6:15 PM +00:00

Everybody hates the one with Julia Roberts, no matter what movie it is she's in.

replies 38Jan 31, 2017 6:16 PM +00:00
I'm not going to compare it to the male version. I'll just try to enjoy it on its own merit.

Like Ghostbusters?

replies 39Jan 31, 2017 6:16 PM +00:00

replies 40Jan 31, 2017 6:26 PM +00:00

Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway are the most unpopular cast members

--Sandy Buttocks
replies 41Jan 31, 2017 7:40 PM +00:00

Not Cate but certainly AnnE, R41.

replies 42Jan 31, 2017 7:50 PM +00:00

Filming is wrapping soon and these two Oscar winners still haven’t spoken to each other outside of their acting roles. A couple of scenes had to be rewritten just to keep them away from each other.

Cate Blanchett/Anne Hathaway

replies 43Jan 31, 2017 7:52 PM +00:00

Blanchett and Bullock look like they're made of wax.

replies 44Jan 31, 2017 7:57 PM +00:00

I stumbled upon some old video of Blanchett being interviewed on YT. It reminded me that there was a time when Blanchett was actually quite normal, unaffected, spoke in non-grand manner... about ten, fifteen years ago.

replies 45Jan 31, 2017 8:03 PM +00:00

Can we all at least agree?

Ocean's 11 - Original has not stood the test of time. Ocean's Eleven - Not bad. Updated, fast-paced. Ocean's Twelve - Julia Roberts - how can you make Europe seem do dark and dreary - horrible! Ocean's Thirteen - good comeback from Twelve disaster, but labored scenes with Damon and Barkin, and the Mexican factory strike.

replies 46Feb 1, 2017 11:46 AM +00:00

I'm so excited for this, I actually like all of these actresses and Rihanna. But I have bad DL taste because I love Julia Roberts, she may be a b***** in real life but she is one of that last big movie stars. I will see any movie with Cate B.

replies 47Feb 1, 2017 11:51 AM +00:00

R47, this is Sandra's show.

replies 48Feb 1, 2017 2:10 PM +00:00

Will Frank Ocean be doing the music? Or will it be Billy?

replies 49Feb 1, 2017 3:13 PM +00:00

New still and an interview with Sandra Bullock.

replies 50Dec 6, 2017 2:36 PM +00:00

Poster is out.

replies 51Dec 14, 2017 9:13 AM +00:00

I waited on Sandra decades ago. During the Speed era. She was SO nice and wonderful. I shall go dammit. Even if it sucks.

replies 52Dec 14, 2017 9:59 AM +00:00

This film will suck twice as much as Ghostbusters

replies 53Dec 14, 2017 10:15 AM +00:00

R53 Thanks, Mystic Meg.

replies 54Dec 14, 2017 10:19 AM +00:00

By the end of the caper, they'll all be on the same cycle.

replies 55Dec 14, 2017 10:37 AM +00:00

R51 That looks more like 'Kill Bill's Uma then Blanchett on the poster.

replies 56Dec 14, 2017 10:40 AM +00:00

These remakes are actually a bit condescending to women. "Wouldn't it be adorable if we remade 'Where Eagles Dare' -- and they were all GIRLS?"

It's like dressing your chihuahua in an army uniform. "Look he's a little soldier, aren't you my precious angel?"

Notice you don't see Hollywood lining up to make a male Beaches or Steel Magnolias.

replies 57Dec 14, 2017 10:41 AM +00:00

R56 Yeah, good catch! She does look like Uma from the side and with those glasses and the bangs.

These remakes are actually a bit condescending to women.

You say condescension, women say inclusion. But thanks for being offended on others' behalf. We had an all-male version and no one bitched about it, so why bitch now? Is your imagination really that limited? I bet there will be a whole lot of fist pumping going on in the theatres when this comes out. I'll never forget this one woman being on the edge of her seat at the Avengers press screening whenever Black Widow had an action scene.

Cannot wait to see this movie!

replies 58Dec 14, 2017 11:10 AM +00:00

Looks fun! I'm open minded enough to give it a shot without listening to the closet misogynists who haven't even seen it!

replies 59Dec 14, 2017 12:00 PM +00:00

Whomever did that poster should be fired, it is awful and totally unbalanced. If they thought the apostrophe after the 'n' didn't ruin things they were wrong. Back to the drawing board!

replies 60Dec 14, 2017 12:42 PM +00:00

Terrible poster, agreed.

replies 61Dec 15, 2017 2:21 PM +00:00

First trailer.

replies 62Dec 19, 2017 2:19 AM +00:00

The poster's perfect.

R60 *Whoever.

replies 63Dec 19, 2017 2:21 AM +00:00

I'll give it a shot! Looks pretty fun

replies 64Dec 19, 2017 2:43 AM +00:00

I wonder how many fucked for their part in the film. the casting was done pre-Weinstein right.

replies 65Dec 19, 2017 2:53 AM +00:00

You live a sad life, huh, R65.

replies 66Dec 19, 2017 2:58 AM +00:00

The poster is hideous. Looks like a 20th centurySoviet propaganda flyer.

replies 67Dec 19, 2017 3:19 AM +00:00

"Every con has its pros"

"Pro" is short for prostitute. I wonder if that was intentional? Seems odd, otherwise. Let's face it, the selling point for this film isn't that it's an all female heist movie. That's been done before. The selling point is that it's an all male franchise that's been redone with women. It's a shame they couldn't envisage an all female franchise without having to tack it onto that godawful Clooney/Pitt/Damon series. It smacks of tokenism.

I'm still looking forward to it, though. I love Cate Blanchett.

replies 68Dec 19, 2017 5:00 AM +00:00

If they had a decent, twisty plot it could be fun.

I don't know which one of the Ocean's Elevens I watched with Clooney and Pitt, but it was B O R I N G !

replies 69Dec 19, 2017 5:37 AM +00:00

"because women don't deserve their own franchises or fresh ideas!!"

--the tagline i would want
replies 70Dec 19, 2017 6:14 AM +00:00

This casting sucks. Jennifer Lopez or Cameron Diaz would have been perfect for this.

replies 71Dec 19, 2017 2:22 PM +00:00

Jennifer Lopez hasn't been in a hit movie since forever, she's B- now

replies 72Dec 19, 2017 2:34 PM +00:00

Rihanna has zero screen presence.

replies 73Dec 19, 2017 3:47 PM +00:00

"So, we need a Chinese actress, a black actress, an Asian-looking actress, someone dykey, someone who can act..."
