Who's your current crush from a TV commercial?

Mine is from a Folgers ad that seems to be running 200 times a day on cable channels. He's a young dad who wakes up to find his mother and baby son making coffee.

He's asleep with someone--undetermined gender--and they could have left it vague. Unfortunately, in the last shot, an out of focus baby incubator is shown joining them.

While grandma's little grandchild may be an expert at waking up everyone at home, she's got her own way with Folgers Classic Roast.

OP, his name is Evan Hoyt Thompson and he looks better in that TV ad than in any if his head shots. In the ad he's almost gaunt in a sexy way and the stubble really works for him better than most. Otherwise he's sort of average.

But, yes he's cute in the commercial.

Eduardo Rioseco, the Nissan Sentra "Best Man."

Pretty hot. His black eyes kill me.

A man in his Nissan Sentra overhears his car reading him an incoming text message. He discovers that he'll be the best man at his friend's wedding because his friend's girlfriend said yes. He smoothly tells himself that he's got this handled and the commercial kicks off into an epic montage. The groomsmen arrive to the wedding in a private jet, his Nissan Sentra on the tarmac complete with red carpet and paparazzi's. The wedding's sound system is made possible by the Nissan Sentra, which also releases doves from the trunk and pulling off a perfect parallel parking job to drive the newly wed couple home.

Do you get a flat fee or are there residuals at all? This Folgers ad I've seen 5 times today.

I'm a SAG-AFTRA member so it's a union spot and I get residuals. It's different for cable channels though, you get a quarterly fee based on a number basically reflecting the penetration of the different cable networks taken as a whole. It's a calculation that results basically in a quarterly fee of about $3,000 added to residuals from each airing on the major networks. I'd say a popular add rings up $5-$6 grand per quarter, more or less. No two are alike.

Many people believe they know the ingredients in the dog foods they buy. Blue Buffalo puts this to the test when they ask Cole questions about three popular brands. Immediately, he learns he should pay more attention to the ingredients in what he's feeding his pet. Compare your dog's food to Blue Buffalo when you visit TrueBlueTest.com.

Who is the guy in this Lexus RX commercial, shot in Paris?

A woman walks past the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and a man driving the 2016 Lexus RX uses the car's built-in GPS as he navigates the city streets. The vehicle cruises through tunnels and past a river as the woman continues her leisurely stroll to an unknown European location. Finally, the driver arrives at his destination: La Grande Arche de la Defense. He parks his car in front of the tall, rectangular structure just as the woman arrives. She approaches the man, who is posed in front of his RX, and the two share a brief kiss. Before they make contact, however, the scene cuts to the two driving in the Lexus toward the Grande Arche.

My latest lust is Tarzan aka Jeff Torres from the Geico commercial.

As part of GEICO's "It's What You Do" series, the company says if you are a couple, you fight over directions, even if you're Tarzan and Jane. The couple swings on a vine to then stand high on a branch in the jungle. Jane, visibly frustrated, tries to ask a monkey for directions to the waterfall. Tarzan tries to reassert himself as "The King of the Jungle," but it's clear the fight isn't over yet as they swing off and she asks him to stop doing his signature yell into her ear.

--Anonymous
replies 155Mar 8, 2016 8:10 PM +00:00

R155 Yeah, that's what I meant. He played both parts, the Discover rep and the guy with the frog.

In one of the first ones of the series, it was twins ("Awesomesauce!") and they made it clear they knew each other/were related. Now they use the same actor for both parts with no explanation.

Is it a joke? Something subliminal, like cognitive dissonance, to increase recall? I do know the couple of times I've pointed it to friends they got agitated about it and denied it was the same person. It's very odd, the reactions.

--Anonymous
replies 158Mar 8, 2016 9:42 PM +00:00

R157 In the frog one it's not twins, it's one actor (Justin Miles) playing two parts.

In the Awsomesauce one, it's twins.

In other ads, it's two unrelated actors but very alike in looks: two Asian women both with glasses and near identical hairstyles. In another ad, it's two fat, sassy black women with very similar voices. You can watch some of the ads below

R158 I feel stupid now. Of course that's the point of the series of ads. I just never paid attention to the tagline.

Kilborn looks terrifyingly like a young Donald Trump in those ads.

Comedian Craig Kilborn, the man in the aisle of a grocery store, lets us in on a little secret: No one has seemed to notice this but for the last several months Kraft has been selling its Macaroni & Cheese with no artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes. The mac and cheese still tastes the same, which is why moms, kids, dogs and even Bill didn't notice. Cute "non-athletic" ginger in this TD Ameritrade spot.

A teenager aspiring to go to college gets into a variety of physical mishaps that reinforce the fact that he will never be able to get an athletic scholarship. These include failing to properly dribble a basketball, knocking down a rack of bikes and fumbling a sandwich his mother throws to him. However, the young man is able to attend a university as a result of his parents' investments with TD Ameritrade. As he walks up the stairs to his new school, somebody throws a flying disc at his head.

Though he's not my type, I like the dad in the Crocs ad who skips work and takes his kids to an amusement park.

A brother and sister run into their waking parents' room dressed as superheroes. Though the father was in the process of putting on a tie, upon seeing their children, the adults decide to don costumes as well. Soon, the whole family is marching through an amusement park in their heroic capes and Crocs shoes. After a day of whirling rides and pictures, the four of them contentedly drive home. Via his rearview mirror, the father gazes at the receding park lit by the setting sun.

In advertising's best pun so far this year, Chance the Rapper encounters Chance the Wrapper in this new Halloween-themed Kit Kat commercial by agency Anomaly. The 23-year-old hip-hop star is seen wearing a bear suit and shopping for Halloween candy (Kit Kats only, of course) when his wrapper alter ego calls out to him. And as promised, we get Chance's version of the Hershey brand's famous "Gimme a Break" jingle—a slow, crooning piano version of it, as it turns out.

The product may be that price, but just like some cellphone bills, she tacked on taxes and fees. Her additional charges include line items like "fresh fruit high cost fee," "standing on my lawn fee" and "spill insurance." T-Mobile says if you are similarly outraged at the add-on fees to your mobile bill you should consider switching to its T-Mobile One plan, which includes all fees and taxes in the monthly plan price. Joe Keery in the Ferris Bueller-inspired Domino's pizza commercial.

Hot AF.

In a remake of the classic ending scene from the 1980s cult classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," actor Joe Keery says goodbye to his Mia Sara lookalike girlfriend after the Domino's Tracker on his smart watch notifies him that the Domino's pizza he ordered is out for delivery. As "March of the Swivelheads" by English Beat plays, he takes off in a run, trying to get home before the delivery. Almost shot for shot, he follows the route Matthew Broderick took in the iconic scene, jumping over hedges, saying a quick hello to sunbathing beauties and jumping on the trampoline with his young neighbor. He even runs alongside an Audi driven by actor Alan Ruck, who played Cameron in the original film. His quick trip pays off as Keery lands on his front porch just as the Domino's delivery driver asks if the pizza in his hands is what he's looking for. In a final nod to the film, the driver sings the memorable "Chick, Chicka, Chicka" from "Oh Yeah" by Yello as he walks off.

Actually that should be commercials (plural). There's a second one.

In the year 2017, how would Ferris Bueller order Domino's on his big day off? "Stranger Things" actor Joe Keery tells his Amazon Echo to place an Easy Order, and then tracks his pizza using the Domino's app on his smart watch and tablet until it arrives.

A few years ago, there was an extremely hot guy in one of those erectile dysfunction commercials. I don't remember whether it was Cialis or one of the others. At the time, I tried to find the actor's name but couldn't find it. But I used to think maybe a hot guy like that couldn't get it up because of the woman he was hanging around. I thought I did, R322. Ryan Johnston is the only name besides Jon Hamm's in the H&R Block spot.

While Jon Hamm runs through a spooky forest movie set, the directors are too busy doing their taxes to pay attention. When he finds out that they're still trying to file their taxes using TurboTax, he's so disappointed that he decides to teach them proper tax filing techniques. He suggests they use H&R Block More Zero instead, which lets customers file online for free. Now he just needs some help scratching his back because that smoke is making him really itchy.

Don't know his name but he's in the Selsun Blue ad "Date Night." Hot guy and the ad is rather homoerotic. A flaming fairy in all white (representing dandruff?) disrupts the hot guy's date and later joins him in the shower.

Another nameless hot guy. From a Snuggle commercial. In addition to plugging fabric softener this ad neatly sums up one reason straight men's dicks wander.

Handsome husband comes home hot and sweaty from playing hockey and tries to kiss his homely wife. She recoils as the daughter looks on, learning her lesson on how to reject men.

Now, I would have sent the kid out to play and had his pants around his ankles before the brat was out the door. If the poor guy's lucky maybe he hooked up later with one of his teammates.

Joel McHale in his Enterprise ad, though I think he deserves a better ride.

The Ford "Summer Sale" commercial where the sexy dad is giving his son a hard time as he tries to back Dad's boat into the water ("No pressure, it's only my favorite boat."). If it were me, I'd INTENTIONALLY screw it up, back the boat into the dock, just to see if he might spank me.

I’m crushing hard on the “daditude” guy from the xFinity WiFi commercials. Total goofy DILF.
