This will be set in the same universe as the old series but will be set in a new Office with completely new characters!
A new “The Office” series is potentially happening!

Coming this Fall!
Wacky hijinks ensue all while a documentary tv crew follows a bunch of rag tag ragamuffins as they plod through their daily workday!

Prediction: the employees will consist of trans, lesbian and black characters with one “wacky/stupid/obnoxious” white guy.

R1 did you think Abbott Elementary was the first of its kind or something?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 20, 2024 8:39 PM |
So a brand new show?

A format is a format. It will depend on the writing and the cast.

I didn't watch the first one.

I just started it for the first time this past weekend after I was done with Schitt’s Creek. I asked my sisters what shows I should watch and one said Schitt’s Creek because she loves it and the other said The Office because she loves that one. I watched SC and now am onto The Office.
I agree with my sister that season 1 is whatever but with season 2 it gets very funny. I watched the episode where Michael burns his foot while on lunch break and it was fucking hysterical.

Oscar Martinez from the original is one of my all-time favorite gay characters.
I wonder if they’ll rope in some of the OG actors for cameos.

Please God NO

R9 he’s in the background more than anything…

R9 He really does fit that old stereotype of the smug, gay Mexican.

r10, I read that in Michael's voice when he found out Toby was back in the Annex and burst out laughing. I hope that's what you intended.
The Office is my comfort TV show.

R13, yes!! That's what inspired it. And then I found the clip that I posted in R14.

thanks for that, r14, made my day!

The Office in 2024, mostly vacant work stations, the four people in the office all have headsets on and barely talk to each other. Can't see how that's going to be entertaining TV. Part of the charm of the original show was the ambient office noise in the background. Most offices today are eerily quiet.

R17 it’s a scripted series. Not an actual documentary
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 20, 2024 9:53 PM |
I realize that r18. Just saying that these days an office is an even less interesting subject for a documentary than it was 20 years ago.

Yeah! Instead of a male boss it’ll be a girl boss… and she’ll be looking for a cool rider.
A cool cool cool cool rider.
A c-o-o-l r-I-d-e-r.

The Gervais version is the superior one, but if hot redhead Domnhall Gleeson has been cast, I'll watch the new one just to see him.

His face is hard to look at.

Boring people love to talk about The Office. It's catnip for people with no personalities.
