Can someone explain the trend with so many women no longer wanting to look like humans?

I read an article several years ago that foretold this phenomenon.

It suggested that this bizarre look would become normalized and become aspirational because celebrities were doing it. Also, it's a sign of wealth because of the cost associated.

Plastic surgeons seem to know one face.

It’s not just women though. I can’t stop thinking about that recent Peggy Noonan column about the “uglyificafion” of everything. It does seem like people are increasingly styling themselves to look as strange as possible. I don’t get it.

Would never have guessed this was Mira Sorvino. Same with Molly Ringwald and Renee Zellweger in recent photos. They don't look younger, just like completely different people. It's unreal.

This is one of the reasons you can't tell whether an image is a "real" person or AI generated. Maybe they're getting ready for that.

Apparently the ad and fashion worlds are already starting to be drenched in photos of completely AI generated people (mostly women, of course). The ABC's Australian Story last night was all about it. If it's allowed to go on it will completely devastate the fashion industry. Not only will they not need models, they won't need locations, photographers and all the other paraphernalia that go with a shoot. It will also transform the advertising industry, doubtless leaving only the rich white men they call "creatives" in place. Essentially, we're heading to Barbie World.
