People who defend these protests in the name of free expression are missing the point that they are about coercion, not persuasion.

This shit is going to blow over once Spring semester wraps up and the kids go home or to Daytona or to some lean-to in the Berkshires. I get it that they’re all “over” Israel; I think most Americans are too. The students will find a new cause célèbre before Fall term. Those matriculating will probably start protesting the 40-hour work week before quickly realizing that that type of nonsense will only lead them to a part-time job at Ruby Tuesday’s.
