How would you diagnose her?
Arrested development. I doubt she talked or acted any differently when she was 18.

Avoidant personality disorder. She had both folie de grandeur (in her case, delusions of FORMER grandeur, overestimated) and insecurity. She was attractive enough, slim with a good figure, educated enough, materially comfortable, she could have made a match but did not. Did she ever get laid, as a middle aged woman? Wasted life.

She marched to her own drummer, and that drummer was FABULOUS!

She was on the spectrum! You can tell by her monotone voice.

Little Edie did not have a monotone voice.

People in the village said I was schizophreenic. I never had a split personality. I have a hell of a temper! It's Southern!
