Glenn Gould
A pianist who died young, he was a child prodigy who achieved professional accreditations by age 12. He excelled at playing Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, composers he loved, while grimacing at Rachmaninov and Chopin.
By the time he was 31 he became an eccentric recluse, and focuses on playing alone in studio recordings rather than live concert halls.
Let's discuss the extra-ordinary pianist, Glenn Gould.

Glenn Gould was to Bach and Mozart what Van Cliburn was to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov

His playing was very quirky and I suspect he did this to maintain an edgy, “bad boy” persona. Unfortunately, he ruined a lot of great pieces, especially Beethoven’s piano sonatas, with his antics.

R7 - Yes, like those violinists who play both parts of the Bach Double Concerto and then overlay them. In this case, it begins around 5:45 and REALLY goes to town at 8:08.

R12 I couldn't find anything, but probably. However, Gould was a recluse in New York City while Van Cliburn was a recluse in Texas
