Ride My See Saw - The Moody Blues

I even bought a Fender Telecaster like Justin Hayward so I could play that lick. I could get very close but never exacting to his guitar solos.

A different direction, but I find this almost unspeakably beautiful.

I actually think Duane Allman played the solo in Layla but the entire song is stunning, so…

I know that out of the guitar solos in the history of music, this is a deeply uncool choice. But I still remember hearing Eddie Martinez's guitar solo in this song for the first time when I was about fourteen. I think my face may have actually warped into the 😮 emoji at that moment.

OK, OK -- here's a real one, although you have to admit that Neil Young can do more with one note than anyone else ever has.

Grand Funk when it was still a 3-piece band, and before they went commercial. There's a live version of this on YouTube as well. The solo starts at 2:47.

If there are any young'uns out there who want to know what "hard rock" really sounds like, listen and learn!
