Posters on this site continually cite these net worth estimates as though they are fact.

Can anyone explain why?

You do realize these sites are complete and utter BS, right?

Definite nonsense. I ended up listed there twice, once slightly lower than my actual net worth and once six times higher. It looks like it aggregates data from different sources. I came up there after two transactions that were registered in an online database.
