Good.

Now, let's pass the immigration bill so that won't be held against Joe.

Next up: Kam-Allah!

There was a part of me hoping to watch MTG make a complete ass out of herself as an impeachment manager.
I know she makes an ass out of herself every day but it’s not always televised.

YES! Schumer shut them down Swiftly and Elegantly.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 17, 2024 9:33 PM |
Well played, Chuck.

Schumer is the senate version of Nancy Pelosi. They stand as testament against congressional term limits. It takes decades in the House and Senate to master the arcane rules and procedures like they’ve done.

Neither this nor the Biden impeachment effort was ever going to go anywhere. This was all done to placate VolderDump.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 17, 2024 9:47 PM |
Perfectly stated, R7.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 17, 2024 9:48 PM |
Did it really take wizardry to stop it? Rs didn’t have the votes. The poison dwarf of the House can only do so much.

Republicans = Hypocrisy on steroids
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 17, 2024 10:17 PM |
[quote] Republican senators were outraged at Mr. Schumer’s maneuvering. Some accused him of degrading the institution of the Senate and the Constitution itself. Others beat their desks as they called for a delay of the trial for two weeks, until next month or even until after the November election. They accused Mr. Mayorkas of lying to Congress and impeding Republican investigations.
[quote] Senator Mike Lee of Utah, visibly frustrated, rushed around the chamber trying to strategize with his fellow Republicans.
Sounds to me that this was more than “not having the votes”

The GOP knew that. They wanted a show trial, one long taxpayer funded anti-Biden campaign commercial in the middle of election season. And Chuck Schumer just suffocated them in their sleep.

Pics please.

The Republicans were always going to lose, but they disintegrated in a very satisfying fashion. It’s really all over for McConnell. He couldn’t keep them under control at all.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 17, 2024 10:42 PM |
It’s really all over for McConnell because he quit.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 17, 2024 10:43 PM |
It’s going to be all over for McConnell period before too much longer??
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 17, 2024 10:44 PM |
I watched the proceedings. It was ugly. Mostly because the Repugs kept throwing up motion after motion to delay, and the votes were exactly the same every time. They knew they couldn't win a vote, but they just kept moving for delays over and over and over... They left the room without a shred of dignity remaining, trying to convince themselves that they had somehow achieved something...
Idiots.

Republicans and dignity is a relationship that will never happen again
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 18, 2024 12:24 AM |
My guess is the Republicans wanted the delay of two weeks so they could scream faux outrage day in and day out so that the Dems would feel forced to have the Trial, which would happen right when Turd’s trial gets underway with the most salacious parts.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 18, 2024 12:59 AM |
According to Lawrence, Schumer and McConnell had a deal that was to be passed by unanimous consent, but some idiot freshman Senator objected which gave the Democrats the ability to kill the trial.

He announced he won't run for the Leadership post again, but he is still Minority Leader until November.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 18, 2024 6:42 AM |
Yes, McConnell is still making moves.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 18, 2024 12:12 PM |
Obviously he’s still the leader. But he’s a lame duck.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 18, 2024 12:17 PM |
Rising out of his coffin every morning.
