More than $64,000 so far for a woman who let her kid fall out a window — if that's really what happened.
How are people so stupid?

I would think it'd be for attorney fees and criminal fines after social services presses charges?

"More than $64,000 so far for a woman who let her kid fall out a window."
Um, the dad let his kid fall out of a window, too, OP.

If he was present, that's true. If the father wasn't there, it's on her. If it was him there, her not there, it's on him.

Was this a Red Roof Inn?

Angel wings would have come in handy during the fall.

He could've used 'em on the way down.

Yes it was this hotel. Clubhouse Hotel & Suites Sioux Falls. It has a big indoor kiddy pool facility. I'm trying to figure out the window configuration. I would like the back story on how a kid "fell out a window".

What exactly is the go fund me $ to be used for? Burial? I am certain at least 2 dozen Attorneys are banging on the parents door right now asking to represent them in a lawsuit against the hotel property. The forthcoming lawsuit is almost guaranteed to bring in a big 7 figure $ settlement. Am I missing something?

R16 if they had a room like that, they have a case to sue. But parents should be more cautious. Two teachers, huh?!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 17, 2024 7:46 PM |
Buck would never have fallen out of a Hotel window.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 17, 2024 7:46 PM |
NOT to be confused with the Heinz family who, desperate to ensure continued success, once sacrificed a newborn baby in a vat of boiling ketchup.

I need to find a way to have a family member have some tragic accident and get thousands for their death.
It’s really strange the world we live in.
Like that budding Olympic cyclist who had an accident. His parents have money and their GOFUNDME netted them around 150k. The description written was more or less to help the parents cope and ease their pain.

I'm just getting over a six month long knee blowout. Nobody gave me a dime. Well except I did make my full salary sitting mostly on my ass at home doing nothing.

[post redacted because independent.co.uk thinks that links to their ridiculous rag are a bad thing. Somebody might want to tell them how the internet works. Or not. We don't really care. They do suck though. Our advice is that you should not click on the link and whatever you do, don't read their truly terrible articles.]

R17, you're assuming it wasn't the parents at fault.

How does something like this happen? Did she look away for just a second to do some freebasing with Eric Clapton. Anyway, I'm writing Tears in Heaven II.

Oh, I can’t…

Even if the room had an ottoman in front of a window how is that the hotel's fault? The parents had to open the window (if, in fact it opened at all.) Isn't it the parents' responsibility to move the ottoman out of the way?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 18, 2024 12:45 AM |
R36 you don't get it I don't get it but cynical greedy people, and grief stricken people, try to pull this shit all the time. Grief striken people want "someone to pay for this!" as a coping mechanism.

Where was gofundme when I had to raise a ransom?

If ONLY, R22. Heinz is the slowest ketchup in the west! Had that trashy-named baby been a Heinz, he’d have been caught, no doubt, before hitting the cement.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 18, 2024 1:31 AM |
I’m sure the baby was drunk, yet again.
