Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler ARE “Romeo & Juliet”
We will have two different versions of R&J in NYC at the same time! This one (a musical) and Tom Holland’s (a play). The West End’s revival is coming to Broadway later this year after selling out all its London shows in 2 hours.
“Kit Connor and West Side Story‘s Rachel Zegler will star in the new Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet this fall, directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold, with music by Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff and movement by Tony winner Sonya Tayeh.
Producers Seaview made the announcement today.
The production should not be confused with yet another high-profile revival of the star-crossed lovers = the West End production of Romeo & Juliet starring Tom Holland and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, which also is eyeing a Broadway staging. Jamie Lloyd directs that one.”
