Nobody DOES It Better

I knew I had to be quick about correcting my typo otherwise the Oh Deer TROLL would appear

by Anonymousreply 1April 15, 2024 2:49 AM

I do it better.

by Anonymousreply 2April 15, 2024 2:51 AM

Nobody does it like I do. Or with so many!

by Anonymousreply 3April 15, 2024 2:59 AM

My favorite Bond theme song!

by Anonymousreply 4April 15, 2024 3:02 AM

OP how about the person who points out that the film was The Spy Who Loved Me?

by Anonymousreply 5April 15, 2024 3:03 AM

I had this on cassette.

I want to have your babies, R5. Or at least try!

by Anonymousreply 7April 15, 2024 3:04 AM

Ben was born in 1977.

She had a fair number of years to wait until she could say nobody does it better.

Depending on the meaning of "it."

I assume it means lathering suntan lotion. Or something.

by Anonymousreply 8April 15, 2024 3:09 AM

R5- I'm not even on drugs or drunk-I'm not as smart as I used to be.

That happens to be the very first James Bond movie I saw in the theater with my parents ( I was only 12) in the winter of 1978. I enjoyed it too.

by Anonymousreply 9April 15, 2024 3:25 AM

If Carly had been a guy (and the nose:dick proportions are real...), she would have had a BIGGUN!

by Anonymousreply 10April 15, 2024 3:26 AM

I can never hear it without thinking of this scene.

Brittany Murphy does it good too.

Originally, the producers of the movie wanted Barbra Streisand to record the song for the movie, and asked her friend Marvin Hamlisch, the composer, to step in and convince her to record the song. He tried, but she said 'no', as she wasn't interested in recording a theme song for a movie she was not starring in. ( A year later, her boyfriend Jon Peters convinced her to record 'Prisoner' from 'Eyes of Laura Mars', even though he couldn't convince her star in the movie). NDIB was a huge hit, while 'Prisoner' was not.

I don't believe Streisand spoke about turning down the Bond song in her memoir.

by Anonymousreply 13April 15, 2024 4:45 AM

It’s from The Spy Who Loved Me.

Sheesh.

by Anonymousreply 14April 15, 2024 4:54 AM

It's even in the song lyrics.

by Anonymousreply 15April 15, 2024 6:13 AM

R14, as R5 pointed out.

by Anonymousreply 16April 15, 2024 6:19 AM

R15, nonsense!

Nobody is it better... For your eyes only... Cabbage ham-hocks, soup bones, dildo!!! Maybe next time, you'll buy me a pony!

by Anonymousreply 17April 15, 2024 6:21 AM

Julie at R6 is just awful. And she changed the spy to the man,

by Anonymousreply 18April 15, 2024 6:23 AM

I think the lack of an editing option is just plain cruel. Of course, the Data Lounge is renowned for its cruelty.

by Anonymousreply 19April 15, 2024 6:24 AM

Sheena Easton sounds fab singing this!

And the movie, MOONRAKER, is one of the finest Bond entries.

by Anonymousreply 20April 15, 2024 7:33 AM

Nobody does it worse.

Is Carly singing about her dad?

[quote]I knew I had to be quick about correcting my typo otherwise the Oh Deer TROLL would appear

And yet you still didn't spare yourself from me. The "Oh Deer" troll?

by Anonymousreply 23April 15, 2024 8:04 AM

r18 if it's Julie, shouldn't it be the "gal who loved me"?

by Anonymousreply 24April 15, 2024 12:18 PM

No -with Julie it's an homage to her late husband. "The man who loved me is keeping all my secrets safe tonight." Neither ever exposed their lavender marriage.

by Anonymousreply 25April 15, 2024 5:03 PM

I always liked the theme song Goldfinger better.

It’s from the film Octopussy.

by Anonymousreply 28April 15, 2024 7:08 PM

Surprisingly, the song "Goldfinger" is actually from the film "Goldfinger," R28.

by Anonymousreply 29April 15, 2024 7:19 PM

R29 bless your heart. I think R28 was making fun of the people at the start of the thread who were clueless on which movie Carly actually sang for

by Anonymousreply 30April 15, 2024 7:31 PM

Isn't Nobody Does It Better from A Star Is Born ?

by Anonymousreply 31April 15, 2024 7:35 PM

I love her big ass mouth

by Anonymousreply 32April 15, 2024 7:42 PM

^^^Was that the theme from Octopussy?

by Anonymousreply 33April 15, 2024 7:43 PM

than Nate Dogg.

I always thought that Shirley Bassey really overdid it. Gold-fin-gahhhhh.

by Anonymousreply 35April 15, 2024 7:48 PM

R33, no, it was I Need Eight Arms to Hold You.

by Anonymousreply 36April 15, 2024 7:49 PM

R33 All TIme High - Rita Coolidge

by Anonymousreply 37April 15, 2024 7:50 PM

No, no, no, R36! "I Need Eight Arms to Hold You" was the song in From Russia, Eight Gloves.

by Anonymousreply 38April 15, 2024 7:51 PM

I though All Time High just had to be from Moonraker.

by Anonymousreply 39April 15, 2024 7:51 PM

Moonraker is from Moonraker.

by Anonymousreply 40April 15, 2024 7:52 PM

Moonraker is to Moonraker as ___________ is to Thunderball.

Discuss.

by Anonymousreply 41April 15, 2024 7:54 PM

[quote]I always thought that Shirley Bassey really overdid it. Gold-fin-gahhhhh.

That's what makes it fabulous. Are you a straight person?

by Anonymousreply 42April 16, 2024 6:15 AM

Diamonds are forever -they are all I need to please me. They can stimulate and tease me...

by Anonymousreply 43April 16, 2024 6:18 AM

OP 'the spy who loved me' is in the lyrics of the song. Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 44April 16, 2024 6:35 AM

[italic]But the one cock that whupped me, The spy who shtupped me…
