Her new album didn’t even make the Top 200 on Billboard and debuted at #90 in the UK, which means she sold 1 copy. Where did it all go wrong? She even promoted with a new documentary. She did everything to get it to do well.
Why did Sheryl Crow’s career go down the shitter?

I bet she made bank off "Soak up the Sun."
Hate that song!

Like of most of her contemporaries: Alanis, Jewel, Liz Phair, Shawn Colvin, etc, they all tried to showcase some mild lezbo image during her prime years during the 90s, which kinda let her fans down once the 21st century arrived and most of them turned out to be boring straight chicks.

R2, stop making up bullshit.

She wasn't strong enough to sustain a lasting career.

that duet with Kid Rock put her in the 'no' column for me.

Her voice is weak and she’s in her 60’s. Save for maybe 1-2 songs, I never liked her songs and found the lyrics shallow and trite.

R2 does have a point. Everything about that Lilith Fair moment and aesthetic went out the window around Y2K.

Only song I like of hers is "My favorite Mistake."

Yeah R2, you don’t sound like an expert on anything.

Yeah, R8, she was tainted by her association with Lance Armstrong, cheater, liar, bully.

A duet with Kid Rock didn't help, either.

Soak Up the Sun was viewed as her selling out. She had mainstream success, but she was viewed by her fans as somewhat indie or offbeat. Here she appeared to be courting the top 40 crowd.
I believe that was immediately followed up with the Kid Rock duet.
She scored with these two songs, but her original fan base abandoned her and never came back.

Right at the height of her success she started dating Armstrong and wasted 4 years with him and likely had her image tarnished by proximity. Shortly after she and Armstrong parted ways, she had breast cancer adopted two boys and had a brain tumor. At that point she had moved to Nashville to raise the kids and she just seemed to pursue passion projects and guest star on other’s albums.

Because everyone was embarrassed she did not understood how the phrase "the Santa Monica Boulevard" scans.

She liked a good beer buzz early in the morning.

Because she’s an awful person and a medium talent who never deserved the career she had in the first place.

Has anyone asked Crow if Armstrong's cock tasted like Gyllenhaal's ass?
