Kate back for another anal probing.

by Anonymousreply 1April 14, 2024 3:31 AM

The joke with the alien abductions stopped being funny a while ago.

by Anonymousreply 2April 14, 2024 3:34 AM

At least it’s not a game show skit

by Anonymousreply 3April 14, 2024 3:35 AM

I'm laughing so there's some life in the old girl yet.

by Anonymousreply 4April 14, 2024 3:37 AM

Love the alien abductees skits and nice to see Kate pop in to do her crazy character. And with Nicolas Cage v.2024.

by Anonymousreply 5April 14, 2024 3:40 AM

Emily learned her lesson from the Oscar dress and is going with the exposed shoulder look.

by Anonymousreply 6April 14, 2024 3:42 AM

LOLOLOL.

by Anonymousreply 7April 14, 2024 3:44 AM

This opening is iconic.

by Anonymousreply 8April 14, 2024 3:44 AM

Ugh. This singing opening is hideous.

by Anonymousreply 9April 14, 2024 3:45 AM

Sorry R9, I'm enjoying it. Go figure.

by Anonymousreply 10April 14, 2024 3:46 AM

Holy shit that country song was some funny shit! I was laughing so hard I was crying. Can’t remember the last time the show made me laugh like that.

by Anonymousreply 11April 14, 2024 3:58 AM

Gosling's face seems to have deflated a bit since the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 12April 14, 2024 3:59 AM

Keep it together for God's sake. You're professionals !!

by Anonymousreply 13April 14, 2024 4:09 AM

All this breaking is so unprofessional and NOT FUNNY.

STOP!

by Anonymousreply 14April 14, 2024 4:11 AM

Funny!

by Anonymousreply 15April 14, 2024 4:12 AM

OK, the Beavis and Butthead thing was hilarious. This is turning out to be a really good show.

by Anonymousreply 16April 14, 2024 4:15 AM

R14, it's contagious. I noticed Gosling, I mean Goaling has a hard time holding it together and it seems to be spreading among the cast. You know it's bad when Kenan is the only one who keeps it together.

Did Longfellow have any lines in the AI skit? If not he's been pretty much reduced to audience extra status.

by Anonymousreply 17April 14, 2024 4:15 AM

Loved the references to Ryan’s big dick & bush in the alien abductions one.

by Anonymousreply 18April 14, 2024 4:15 AM

Love Ryan. The Bevis and Butthead skit was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 19April 14, 2024 4:16 AM

What's with all the cameos? Are they offering a free buffet?

by Anonymousreply 20April 14, 2024 4:32 AM

Is Bowen a freelancing clown on leave from some underground circus?

by Anonymousreply 21April 14, 2024 4:41 AM

Is Goaling high all the time, and that's why he's so giggly?

This material is really not funny enough to be cracking up over.

by Anonymousreply 22April 14, 2024 4:43 AM

Love Bowen and Ryan.

by Anonymousreply 23April 14, 2024 4:47 AM

Ryan is looking fine as hell.

I've been fantasizing about being a staffer or PA on the show and trying to get into his pants.

by Anonymousreply 24April 14, 2024 4:48 AM

Did Ryan lock Eva in a closet again while he is out and having fun?

by Anonymousreply 25April 14, 2024 4:55 AM

Something is off with Ryan’s face and the hair looks like a wig.

by Anonymousreply 26April 14, 2024 4:56 AM

Ryan seems high. An Erin Brokovich sketch? Seriously?

by Anonymousreply 27April 14, 2024 4:56 AM

Muriel stop posting this LAME ASS show.

Only post SNL from 10/75 to 05/79.

by Anonymousreply 28April 14, 2024 4:58 AM

The Erin Brockovich sketch is making fun of the stupid script, fixating on one particularly hackneyed passage. And it's kind of brilliant.

This has been a strong show on the writing side, actually, ruined by all the amateurish breaking.

by Anonymousreply 29April 14, 2024 4:59 AM

Liked seeing Ryan's big ass in those white Levi's when he turned around and bowed down in the goodnights.

by Anonymousreply 30April 14, 2024 5:03 AM

Longfellow is toast. He is gone after this season. He is just bland.

by Anonymousreply 31April 14, 2024 5:04 AM

You seem obsessed with him r31.

by Anonymousreply 32April 14, 2024 5:08 AM

Where are the Please Don't Destroy guys? They've been absent for the past two shows. Did they move them to the writing staff because the sketches have been much more creative these past two weeks.

by Anonymousreply 33April 14, 2024 5:08 AM

The PDD guys suck, their movie bombed, and the SNL-alumni daddies of 2/3 probably said it was OK to phase them out of the show.

by Anonymousreply 34April 14, 2024 5:09 AM

Longfellow has been scoring in his solo spots.

He fills the "cute guy" role the show needs.

Like Jimmy Fallon, who did nothing but Update (poorly) and crack up in sketches, ruining them.

At least Longfellow doesn't break.

by Anonymousreply 35April 14, 2024 5:12 AM

Longfellow won’t be around long. Fallon became a name. This kid won’t.

by Anonymousreply 36April 14, 2024 5:17 AM

R35, Fallon did impressions, Longfellow does nothing but smirk at the camera.

They rarely feature most of the players so why don't they just streamline the cast and bring it back to the main five Ike they did with the original cast. Too bloated and most are glorified extras at this point.

by Anonymousreply 37April 14, 2024 5:36 AM

R37 to have different people in different sketches. What worked in 1975 isn’t gonna work in 2024.

by Anonymousreply 38April 14, 2024 5:41 AM

R38, when you hire talented players you don't need a bloated cast.

by Anonymousreply 39April 14, 2024 6:15 AM

R39 again, it’s 2024. No one is watching the same exact people in every skit week after week.

by Anonymousreply 40April 14, 2024 6:18 AM

R32 = I only made one comment about Longfellow. How is that an obsession? It's not my fault he can't land a joke, a sketch, or ANY impression.

by Anonymousreply 41April 14, 2024 6:34 AM

Did they finally get rid of "do not destroy"?

by Anonymousreply 42April 14, 2024 6:36 AM

R40, look at this season then get back to me. We ARE looking at the same people in every skit week after week. The also-rans get thrown a line every now and then but they rarely appear.

by Anonymousreply 43April 14, 2024 6:37 AM

by Anonymousreply 44April 14, 2024 11:59 AM

I’m not seeing ‘The Fall Guy”

by Anonymousreply 45April 14, 2024 12:01 PM

R35 Jimmy Fallon was the cute guy?

by Anonymousreply 46April 14, 2024 12:14 PM

Jimmy Fallon is the cute guy.

by Anonymousreply 47April 14, 2024 12:41 PM

Not even if you are blind.

by Anonymousreply 48April 14, 2024 12:47 PM

R43 no. We aren’t. They rotate the people. I’ve been watching. Shhhhh.

by Anonymousreply 49April 14, 2024 1:34 PM

If you cannot get through a live sketch without breaking character and laughing then you are not a very good actor. Especially if you haven’t learned how to do it by your 40’s

by Anonymousreply 50April 14, 2024 2:02 PM

I like that they sometimes break character and laugh. It adds to the “live” factor.

by Anonymousreply 51April 14, 2024 2:50 PM

“Following his time as a child star on “The All New Mickey Mouse Club,” Ryan Gosling never completed high school, choosing to instead take on roles in indie films.”

It shows. He seems “special.”

by Anonymousreply 52April 14, 2024 2:54 PM

Why do they need Longfellow for the “cute guy” when they have Andrew Dismukes and Marcello, that hot little piece of ass?

by Anonymousreply 53April 14, 2024 2:55 PM

Why are they looking at the camera or not even at the camera but the cue cards, I assume, when they are talking? Instead of looking at each other when they are acting like they are having a conversation. I don't remember cast from the past doing that. How hard it is to learn a few lines per week? Plus, I'm sure they can improvise. A child could do it without staring at the cue cards 90% of the time. It is very distracting

by Anonymousreply 54April 14, 2024 4:43 PM

Agreed R 54. It seems amateurish which is why I stopped watching the show a long time ago.

by Anonymousreply 55April 14, 2024 4:45 PM

I was surprised, and distracted, by how often Kristen Wiig looked at the script prompter during her ‘Jumanji’ sketch last week. She should be a pro by now with this type of sketch comedy.

by Anonymousreply 56April 14, 2024 5:37 PM

Wonder why they did the alien abduction skit for the opening. Did they not have anything else ready in time?

by Anonymousreply 57April 14, 2024 8:25 PM

[quote]How hard it is to learn a few lines per week? Plus, I'm sure they can improvise. A child could do it without staring at the cue cards 90% of the time. It is very distracting

Janeane Garofalo has said the men on the show mocked her for learning her lines rather than using cue cards. I guess it made them look bad.

{R53} There is nothing "little" about that hot piece of ass of Marcelo. I'm watching next week for no other reason.

Troll nose = cock

as mentioned on the SNL alien opening skit

by Anonymousreply 62April 15, 2024 1:14 AM

He broke character in every sketch he was in. The giggling was distracting and ruined the flow of the sketch. Not to mention it was unprofessional and disrespectful to the other actors and the writers. They hit it out of the park two weeks in a row. The material was good. The cast was solid. The host, not so much. I realize a couple of the cast members laughed as well but I think it was an effort to help him save face. Maybe save the edibles for AFTER the show.

by Anonymousreply 63April 15, 2024 3:06 AM

R59 I didn't get the part with his father.

by Anonymousreply 64April 15, 2024 4:01 AM

R63 disrespectful to the which other actors? The ones that can't learn a few lines per week and constantly stare at cue cards? And crack up themselves all the time?

by Anonymousreply 65April 15, 2024 4:21 AM

Why does that lady in OP's link dresses up like a clown and has a mullet? She's actually quite attractive when she dresses normally and has a wig

by Anonymousreply 66April 15, 2024 5:46 AM

I think we all got that, r62.

by Anonymousreply 67April 15, 2024 5:50 AM

I read a theory that Longfellow is being groomed to be the next Weekend Update anchor. Can’t imagine Jost and Che have more than one more season

by Anonymousreply 68April 17, 2024 4:29 PM

How long have Che and Jost been the news anchors? It seems like a long time?

by Anonymousreply 69April 17, 2024 11:02 PM

I looked it up. They began anchoring the news update segment in 2014 and are the longest running performers in that role, surpassing Seth Myers. They eclipsed Myers’ back in 2021.

by Anonymousreply 70April 17, 2024 11:09 PM

That News segment is one of the least funny things on tv. Why do keep pushing it? Who is a fan of that? And it wasn't any funnier when that no charisma having Seth Myers was hosting it.

by Anonymousreply 71April 18, 2024 3:47 AM

I like Jost and Che's interactions.
