Iran has just attacked Israel

While you are talking about souffles and gossiping, let me inform you that Iran has just attacked Israel with drones

by Anonymousreply 265April 15, 2024 11:33 AM

OP is a MAGAT. I can’t see the OP at all because I have it blocked. Can someone else make a post who’s not a POS?

by Anonymousreply 1April 13, 2024 8:46 PM

Israel shouldn't have attacked Iran's embassy in Damascus, but they did so with the evident intention of provoking Iran and escalating the conflict so that the US and Europe would be compelled to defend them. Netanyahu is a degenerate sociopath who is willing to drag the rest of the world into a global war so that he can escape prison for corruption and war crimes, and the sociopathic degenerates in the US and EU will be delighted to join him.

Good luck to us, because we're going to need it even though we're not to blame for anything at all.

by Anonymousreply 2April 13, 2024 8:48 PM

R1 if you cannot see it, how are you posting?

by Anonymousreply 3April 13, 2024 8:50 PM

Oh Jesus, what did Israel do now?

Israel needs to topple that hateful regime.

by Anonymousreply 8April 13, 2024 9:01 PM

Iran had to do something after Damascus, but it is more terrified of a war with Israel-US than anyone. Also: FUCK ISRAEL and the US.

by Anonymousreply 9April 13, 2024 9:03 PM

Only if you FUCK IRAN!

by Anonymousreply 10April 13, 2024 9:04 PM

I wish the US would take care of it's own business.

by Anonymousreply 11April 13, 2024 9:06 PM

President Biden has returned to the WH.

by Anonymousreply 12April 13, 2024 9:10 PM

And what the fuck would you have us do, OP? We have no control over this shit.

by Anonymousreply 13April 13, 2024 9:11 PM

President Biden is preparing to address the nation. Time unknown right now.

by Anonymousreply 14April 13, 2024 9:12 PM

[quote] I wish the US would take care of it's own business.

Yes, and its business is protecting Israel. It needs to get busy.

by Anonymousreply 15April 13, 2024 9:12 PM

I am so fucking tired of this shit.

FUCK Israel. I don’t honestly give a flying fuck about that country. Most of the rest of the world hates us because of our stance with that country.

Fuck Israel. They break international laws time and time again, where the fuck are the consequences??

This might well cost Biden (and the democrats) the presidency. He ignores opinions and the positions of other countries at his (and unfortunately ours) own peril.

FUCK Israel.

by Anonymousreply 16April 13, 2024 9:20 PM

I believe the drones and missiles haven't landed yet.

by Anonymousreply 22April 13, 2024 9:23 PM

[quote] This might well cost Biden (and the democrats) the presidency.

If this hurts Biden, it will be because he caved to the antisemitic wing of the party and agreed to try to hobble Israel. He actually has a chance to redeem himself by standing strong with Israel in this fight.

by Anonymousreply 23April 13, 2024 9:23 PM

R16, get a grip. You think Dump doesn't support Israel?

by Anonymousreply 24April 13, 2024 9:24 PM

Israel says more than 100 drones have been launched now. First ones should reach Israel in 90 minutes or so.

by Anonymousreply 25April 13, 2024 9:25 PM

[quote]I am so fucking tired of this shit.

Your concern is duly noted, Concern Troll.

Yeah let's just let the ME wipe Israel off the map. Everybody will be happier when we finally attain the Final Solution, right?

by Anonymousreply 26April 13, 2024 9:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 29April 13, 2024 9:30 PM

Yup, sounds good to me.

by Anonymousreply 30April 13, 2024 9:32 PM

The white supremacists on here who think Iran have been provoked into this and "have to do something" are hilarious.

Israel are held to a higher standard and Iran and other Muslim theocracies can't help themselves.

by Anonymousreply 31April 13, 2024 9:35 PM

[quote] Yeah let's just let the ME wipe Israel off the map.

Yes this is exactly what this is, a totally unprovoked attack from out of nowhere — it’s not at all a retaliation for Israel constantly murdering Iranians around the Middle East.

The Zionist cult seems to believe Israel has free rein to invade, murder and destroy at will, and no one had better DARE even think of fighting back. If you do you’re an ANTISEMITE!!!

by Anonymousreply 32April 13, 2024 9:42 PM

[quote]Yup, sounds good to me.

Shove that operational RPG all the way up your prolapsed butthole, troll.

by Anonymousreply 33April 13, 2024 9:43 PM

[quote] Israel are held to a higher standard

Is that what we call it when they purposefully murder 40,000 civilians, mostly women and children, and hardly a peep is heard from the world — and the US sends them billions more in weaponry?

by Anonymousreply 34April 13, 2024 9:44 PM

OP, how DARE we discuss trivial things that did not somehow predict the wars of the future!

You are right to be outraged!

by Anonymousreply 39April 13, 2024 9:49 PM

[quote] Is that what we call it when they purposefully murder 40,000 civilians, mostly women and children, and hardly a peep is heard from the world

You really expect people to entertain your fantasy and propaganda that Israel did “purposely murder” the civilians who died as a result of being in a warzone?

by Anonymousreply 40April 13, 2024 9:49 PM

Israel, you brought this on yourself.

by Anonymousreply 41April 13, 2024 9:50 PM

Isn't that what Netanyahu wants? In other words, he wants a second Trump presidency, hence the attack on Damascus which he knew would not go unanswered. And the stupids in our country will be more than happy to oblige.

by Anonymousreply 52April 13, 2024 9:55 PM

You are siding with Putin and the Ayatollah. Congratulations on your integrity.

by Anonymousreply 53April 13, 2024 9:55 PM

Game over, man. Game over!!!

Or not.

by Anonymousreply 54April 13, 2024 9:55 PM

Actually if we are at war there’s virtually no chance Biden loses. But I don’t think it’ll come to that.

by Anonymousreply 56April 13, 2024 9:58 PM

My cousin in Tel Aviv finally DM'd me back on Instagram. He said when the news first came out nobody believed it because no one in Israel believes a damn thing Netanyahu says anymore, but now everyone is really starting to freak out, getting their kids and pets down into bomb shelters and safe rooms. He also said he popped a couple of edibles a few hours ago and is now sorely regretting it.

Israel wanted the war, and has been trying to engineer one in order to get the US to fight Iran for them. That was the reason they bombed the Iranian embassy in Syria. This is an Iranian retaliation for that bombing. Iran has been trying to NOT go to war, and the US, allegedly, has been trying to also avoid a conflict with Iran. But Israel really wants a big war that they can manipulate the US to fight for them.

by Anonymousreply 69April 13, 2024 10:22 PM

R60 He says news channels kept giving different estimates and it was just stressing them the fuck out so they turned everything off and are just waiting for the alarms. All newer Israeli homes have safe rooms built in and there are lots of community bomb shelters because they're used to this kind of thing. He's one of the most hardline atheists I know but he said he and his partner are actually praying, so that's kind of scaring me.

by Anonymousreply 70April 13, 2024 10:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 76April 13, 2024 10:27 PM

No, they won't R72. If a nuclear conflagration starts, the consequences would be devastating for the entire planet and the destruction of all life would be the consequence. Nobody is insane enough to do this.

Also, several trolls are trying to spread misinformation to cause mass hysteria. Rishi Sunak has condemned the attack, but the UK isn't sending any planes to Israel and so far, Biden has only returned to the White House. Let's hope that cooler heads prevail or else, we're all going to regret it.

by Anonymousreply 77April 13, 2024 10:27 PM

Ballistic missiles have been launched by Iran follow the incoming drone wave

by Anonymousreply 78April 13, 2024 10:28 PM

Iran using the IRGC has been and supporting and sponsoring Hamas and their terrorist acts for over 20 years. They are the primary instigators by proxy of the October 7th attacks in Israel.

by Anonymousreply 79April 13, 2024 10:29 PM

Goddammit, I was home relaxing on a Saturday afternoon. Now, I have to put my face on and go into work.

by Anonymousreply 80April 13, 2024 10:29 PM

Whatever Iran's attack strategy currently is, you know Israel's response is going to dwarf it.

by Anonymousreply 81April 13, 2024 10:32 PM

R79, please be quiet. NOBODY knew that Hamas would initiate a surprise attack on Israel, and both Iran and Hezbollah were even disconcerted over it. What prompted the October 07 attacks has been Israel's genocidal approach to their relationships with the Palestinian people, and the refusal to even countenance a Two State solution, or make any compromise, for that matter.

Iran didn't cause this, and there is no evidence to support your assertions. You should stop trying to look for ways to increase support for a wider conflict, because the consequences are going to be awful for everyone.

by Anonymousreply 82April 13, 2024 10:33 PM

I don't care what happens in the Middle East and if it ever starts to affect me personally, then I will support nuking the entire region, making it become a no-go zone for millennia.

by Anonymousreply 83April 13, 2024 10:36 PM

CNN: Iran announces to UN that its attack is over. “Matter can be considered concluded.” Warns US to stay out.

by Anonymousreply 84April 13, 2024 10:39 PM

R82, Oh, I agree that Netenyahu's policies regarding Palestine was basically an apartheid state. And I have been very much an outspoken critic of the Israeli occupation settlements going on for two decades now. Netanyahu has been the biggest obstacle to any type of meaningful progress with the Palestinians. But Iran has always been the biggest backer of Hamas, who also refuse the accept Israels right to exist.

by Anonymousreply 85April 13, 2024 10:39 PM

[QUOTE]I don't care what happens in the Middle East and if it ever starts to affect me personally, then I will support nuking the entire region, making it become a no-go zone for millennia.

by Anonymousreply 86April 13, 2024 10:40 PM

Iran knows it has to back down. The Iranian mission says it's over. They can't rely on other Arab nations or Russia.

by Anonymousreply 87April 13, 2024 10:41 PM

Sucks to be you, r85.

by Anonymousreply 88April 13, 2024 10:42 PM

R82. The Russians , Americans and Egyptians all warned Israel pre Oct 7.

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that the Israeli government knew what was coming, though not the scale of it, and let it occur in order to capitalize on it for their long awaited opportunity to ethnically cleanse Gaza and kill or drive out all the Palestinians living there. A golden opportunity for them.

The Hamas attack had nothing to do with Iran or Hezbullah.

by Anonymousreply 89April 13, 2024 10:42 PM

R88 You don't know the half of it.

by Anonymousreply 90April 13, 2024 10:42 PM

I haven't got the energy for WW3 right now. Can't the Middle East just calm down a bit? Search for some ASMR on YouTube? Nicolas Fairford advising us on how to host the ultimate garden party, or one of those "oldies playing in the next room" compilations?

What a bizarre turn of events.

---

Iran suggests it will not launch further strikes Iran is now citing Article 51 of the UN Charter for its attack.

It says "the matter can be deemed concluded" - suggesting it will not launch further strikes. However, it has warned against any retaliation or any involvement by the United States.

“Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus," its permanent mission at the United Nations said on Twitter/X. "The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!”

Article 51 of the UN Charter says that member states have "the inherent right of individual or collective self-defense if an armed attack occurs".

How is it “over” when the drones and missiles haven’t reached Israel yet? The damage inflicted from them will help determine how Israel responds. It’s far from over. To the contrary, it hasn’t even begun.

by Anonymousreply 97April 13, 2024 10:56 PM

All these wars Trump is starting.

[QUOTE]NOBODY knew that Hamas would initiate a surprise attack on Israel, and both Iran and Hezbollah were even disconcerted kibbutz.

Except for the countries who warned Israel. Bald-faced liar. Netanyahu's non-response and his previous move of IDF away to the West Bank left the area vulnerable and exposed. In some instances it took IDF two hours to reach stricken kibbutzes.

R85, sorry if I have come across as very aggressive, but this is a very serious situation.

R109, the Saudi upper classes only care about themselves and have always had an extremely cordial relationship with Israel, based on mutual economic interests. However, the majority of the Saudi population is furious at Israel due to its treatment of Palestinians, and this is also the case with most other Middle Eastern states. Things don't look too well for any of these governments, if you ask me.

Israel shouldn’t have targeted their embassy.

by Anonymousreply 120April 13, 2024 11:25 PM

This is insane, R119. Israel attacked Iran's embassy in Damascus and Iran has just issued a warning of sorts. If they escalate this, the magnitude of the conflict that will arise will be beyond terrible. Biden's handlers ought to tell Netanyahu that enough is enough.

by Anonymousreply 121April 13, 2024 11:27 PM

Iran escalated it. If they wanted to do something in equal measure, they would have attacked an embassy in a foreign country. Instead they attacked Israel itself. That's an act of war.

by Anonymousreply 122April 13, 2024 11:27 PM

One country bombing another country’s embassy is an act of war.

by Anonymousreply 123April 13, 2024 11:29 PM

And so it attacking an embassy, R122. Don't be dishonest - you know that Israel did this on purpose and while Iran shouldn't have fallen into their trap, the Iranian government isn't to blame.

by Anonymousreply 125April 13, 2024 11:29 PM

Iran could’ve responded by mailing the Israelis a few letters with anthrax, said “We’re done” and the war cabinet would approve a military response! Bibi can’t stay in power without war and the wider the conflict becomes, the greater chance he’ll remain prime minister. He’s confident that America will be there to back up its little brother Israel, so why not turn it into a regional war?

by Anonymousreply 126April 13, 2024 11:31 PM

Iran has the right to defend itself.

…now will people finally wake up and stop fucking around in that region already?!

by Anonymousreply 127April 13, 2024 11:31 PM

by Anonymousreply 132April 13, 2024 11:38 PM

The person killed in Syria was directing proxies that attack Israel on the daily. He was sitting in an adjacent building and not an embassy or consulate. He is an active participant in a war even if he is part of the Iranian regime, he was a legitimate target.

R20 The only reason the Arab Monarchies are joining Israel is for their own self interest, Iran absolutely despises them.

by Anonymousreply 135April 13, 2024 11:40 PM

Do stop it, R130. Israel didn't have the right to murder anyone, because Iran hadn't attacked anyone. Moreover, are you shameless enough to claim that Iran controls Hezbollah and Hamas? COME ON! This is downright ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 136April 13, 2024 11:41 PM

Bibi will never stop. He's owned by the rich settlers who ironically do not have to serve in the skirmishes they help start. He, like Trump, needs to stay in power to avoid prosecution, just like his criminal wife. I have compassion for what he's been through but he needs to adjust his thinking and break free from his enablers. I get where he's coming from. He lost his (hot) brother Jonathan who was killed commanding the raid to free the hostages in Entebbe.

Actual Iranian citizens are standing with Israel. This is literally what they have been praying for. Not to mention a weakened Iran will also greatly benefit Ukraine. A weakened Iran is a weakened Russia.

Iran is basically proving tonight it doesn't have what it takes to take down a powerful western nation. This attack, believe it or not, is the largest single attack against one nation from another since WW2, and if these missiles hadn't been taken down by Israel's defense system, thousands of Israelis and Americans could have been killed in one fell swoop. And yet, so far, under five have been killed. This is an embarrassment to Iran, and, by extension, Russia.

by Anonymousreply 157April 14, 2024 1:01 AM

Will you please STOP saying that Israel has targeted hospitals in Gaza? They’ve been aiming at fire hydrants in front of hospitals. Any impact on nearby hospitals is unfortunate collateral damage.

by Anonymousreply 158April 14, 2024 1:04 AM

Yeah, Iran can't attack Israel directly and not expect a hardcore response. The fact that Israel has a pretty impressive defense system doesn't change that. What a dumb thing to do. Oh well, can't shed a tear for homophobic Iran.

Senator Chris Murphy Logo Murphy: President Trump's Policy Towards Iran Was A Disaster February 28, 2024

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism, on Wednesday spoke at a U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on addressing Iran’s proxy network in the Middle East with former U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of State Brian Hook.

“I thought your opening remarks sounded a lot more like a campaign speech for Donald Trump's re-election than a sober analysis of the situation on the ground in the region,” Murphy said. “Charitably, they were an attempt to rehabilitate President Trump's Iran policy that was a complete, total failure by every available metric. I wasn't coming to this hearing to rehash our policy towards Iran from 2017 to 2020, but I think it's really important to set the record straight. Because if this committee or the American public gets the impression that what President Trump was doing was working and should be brought back as policy going into the future, we're in real trouble.”

Murphy laid out the failures of the Trump administration’s Iran policy: “Here's the facts. When Donald Trump came into office, Iran was over a year from being able to achieve a nuclear weapon. By the time President Trump left office, that breakout time had dropped to months. When President Trump came to office, proxies of Iran were strong. When he left office, they were just as strong, if not stronger. This idea that Iran stopped sending money to Hezbollah during Trump's presidency is just wrong. $700 million was the annual amount of support delivered from Iran in the middle of Trump's presidency; [and] that's what was being delivered at the end of his presidency. There were no attacks on US forces in Iraq when Donald Trump became president. From 2019 to 2020, attacks on US forces in Iraq increased by 400%. It got so bad that Secretary Pompeo started to close down the embassy in Baghdad because it had become so dangerous. Attacks on US forces raised to epidemic levels from the beginning of Trump's presidency to the end. The anti-Iran coalition wasn't strengthened, it was shattered. We had Russia and China on board with the JCPOA. By the end of the Trump presidency, Europe wasn't supporting our Trump politics, our Iran policy, they were undermining it.”

Murphy continued: “President Trump's policy towards Iran was a disaster. They got closer to a nuclear weapon, their proxies didn't get any weaker, US troops came under attack in a way that they were not prior to Trump's presidency, and our coalition, that had been carefully built around the nuclear agreement, ready to be used to go after Iran's ballistic missile program or their support for proxies, had vanished.”

by Anonymousreply 204April 14, 2024 3:07 AM

r202 Because the US has a base here from where it projects force over the entire Middle East. Keeping Israel afloat is an important national security goal.

by Anonymousreply 205April 14, 2024 3:08 AM

Iran splurges hundreds of millions of dollars on an attack where 99% of drones and missiles were intercepted, then immediately declares ceasefire after having given advanced warning of the attack as well. All because this is still a lot cheaper than an outright war with Israel. Modern conflict is so weird.

by Anonymousreply 206April 14, 2024 3:10 AM

by Anonymousreply 212April 14, 2024 3:26 AM

R212 It will only be a nothingburger if Israel chooses not to retaliate, which seems unlikely, considering they've already announced they plan to.

by Anonymousreply 213April 14, 2024 3:32 AM

Yeah tonight was a dud, but it gives Israel carte blanche to do whatever the fuck they want. They’re going to do their damndest to pull us into a hot war with Iran. Most of the country is fed up with spending hundreds of billions to prop up Israel. After Iraq and Afghanistan, most voters here are skeptical about entanglement in foreign wars. I don’t want to say we should hang Israel out to dry, but we should probably hang Israel out to dry.

[quote][R82].

Do cretins actually believe this?

by Anonymousreply 221April 14, 2024 6:51 AM

The idea that Iran wanted this drone and missile attack to just be a nothing burger is ridiculous. You don't send hundreds if your intent is just to make a meaningless statement. That's far too many to expect Israel's defenses to get everything. This is a classic case of people thinking just because something didn't work out as planned it must have secretly been the desired result.

by Anonymousreply 222April 14, 2024 8:07 AM

by Anonymousreply 231April 14, 2024 12:24 PM

R222, you don't know what you're talking about. Iran also lobbed a softball response at *us* a few years back when Trump decided to pop off and have one their generals killed. All week everyone was sitting with baited breath waiting to see how they would respond, and when they did, it was clear that they did not want to escalate. They responded at a bare minimum and only to save face.

by Anonymousreply 232April 14, 2024 12:37 PM

This was not a “softball” response. A softball response would have been firing a few missiles at a military facility, not hundreds of missiles and drones aimed all over the country.

by Anonymousreply 233April 14, 2024 12:46 PM

R233, of course it was a softball response. Everyone had nine hours to prepare; it appears that nothing in Israel was damaged. Iran has announced that they won't be doing anything else. Biden told Netanyahu that was it and that the U.S. would not support a counterattack.

by Anonymousreply 234April 14, 2024 1:56 PM

Well, I'm glad I didn't wake up this morning to a nuclear Armageddon.

by Anonymousreply 235April 14, 2024 2:08 PM

You have an odd definition of “softball.”

by Anonymousreply 236April 14, 2024 2:09 PM

Yeah, as much as I hate Netanyahu and don’t want a wider regional conflict, I’m not sure I could just let this slide if I’ m Israel. Iran was a little too extra.

I’m almost sorry to say that I think Israel should respond militarily. If I’m the President, I would not discourage them.

by Anonymousreply 237April 14, 2024 2:55 PM

More profits for every country's war machine.

by Anonymousreply 238April 14, 2024 2:56 PM

Why does Israel need to respond? It was a display but nothing bad happened, relatively speaking. Israel is tiring.

by Anonymousreply 239April 14, 2024 3:01 PM

Because it was directly into the country. Comparing this to what Iran did after we killed one of their generals doesn't work. They attacked our forces in Iraq with a few missiles in that case. If Iran had sent drones and missiles into the United States proper, you bet your ass we'd have done something even if they did no damage. Americans would've demanded it. Netanyahu has to do at least something.

Now, what I think Israel should do is attack Iranian drone manufacturing sites and then stop. I don't think anyone could deny that would be a justified response. I expect them to possibly do more than that, but oh well.

by Anonymousreply 240April 14, 2024 3:17 PM
