Interior nasal waxing - yay or nay?

You microwave the gunk, stick it up your nose with a stick in it, wait for to harden and then pull it out with all the hairs attached.

Unsightly nasal hair really is unsightly.

I have a little machine that trims nose hair. It is quite good, but it sucks the hairs inside and I don’t get to see them when they have been trimmed, which is unsatisfied.

by Anonymousreply 1April 13, 2024 4:38 PM

The guy that cuts my hair does it for me. My ears as well. Easy peasy.

If I need it between cuts, I use a contraption like R1 uses.

by Anonymousreply 2April 13, 2024 4:42 PM

OP, my eyes are watering just thinking about it. If you like pain, go for it.

by Anonymousreply 3April 13, 2024 4:42 PM

And sneezing.

by Anonymousreply 4April 13, 2024 4:46 PM

Waxing nose hairs is a terrible idea. That's an easy way to get bad infections.

Nose hairs should not be pulled out; they should be trimmed with scissors or an inexpensive trimming machine.

by Anonymousreply 5April 13, 2024 4:48 PM

you do it and no worries for a month or so.

by Anonymousreply 6April 13, 2024 4:48 PM

Will this work on my ass?

by Anonymousreply 7April 13, 2024 4:53 PM

Your stupidity is eye watering. There's a reason you have those hairs.

by Anonymousreply 8April 13, 2024 4:54 PM

Had no idea. Looked it up. Guess I'll have to reconsider.

Thanks, R5

by Anonymousreply 9April 13, 2024 4:54 PM

Doesn't staph live in your nose? Not a good idea.

by Anonymousreply 10April 13, 2024 4:56 PM

Just to piggyback on what R5 said, but not sure if it's and old wives tale, but you should never wax your nose hairs because it could lead to an infection and it's very dangerous to have an infection to close to your brain.

by Anonymousreply 11April 13, 2024 4:58 PM

I've seen these on Amazon and was tempted to buy until I read the comments above. The possibility of infection never occured to me. I'll stick with my nose hair trimmer. Thanks, DL!

by Anonymousreply 12April 13, 2024 4:59 PM

Yay for thee; nay for me.

by Anonymousreply 13April 13, 2024 5:04 PM

An ingrown nose hair is excruciatingly painful and can easily become infected.

by Anonymousreply 14April 13, 2024 5:06 PM

Real men burn ‘em out with a BIC.

Oh, dear.

Perhaps it’s also … unsatisfying?

You want to stick your nose up your ass?

by Anonymousreply 17April 13, 2024 5:50 PM

I got a really bad, unstoppable nose bleed once from plucking a nose hair. To me, this procedure would be like taking that horrible experience and multiplying it by 100.

by Anonymousreply 18April 13, 2024 5:56 PM

Without being too graphic, I read recently that touching inside your nose could be linked to forms of dementia, probably due to the potential for bacteria to cross the blood/brain barrier. I wonder if long term cocaine use is also linked.

by Anonymousreply 19April 13, 2024 6:15 PM

Three words...facial hair scissors

by Anonymousreply 20April 13, 2024 6:27 PM

Just a side note, why was it not until my 40s did I realize your nose hairs are basically the same as your eyebrows?

by Anonymousreply 21April 13, 2024 7:29 PM

Nose hairs are there for a reason. You need some degree up there to maintain health.

Try braiding them instead.

by Anonymousreply 22April 13, 2024 8:57 PM

I'm thankful I rarely have an issue with nose hair, occasionally I will just yank one...with freshly washed hand.

by Anonymousreply 23April 13, 2024 9:22 PM

My mother told me that plucking nose hairs will give you the cancer.

by Anonymousreply 24April 13, 2024 9:25 PM

Just let it keep growing and you can pair it with your mustache.

Nose hair is an important part of your body's defense system. It helps keep dust, allergens, and other small particles from entering your lungs. Removing too much hair may make you more sensitive to these kinds of debris. Plucking your hairs can also lead to irritation, infections, and ingrown hairs.

by Anonymousreply 27April 13, 2024 9:51 PM

And the cancer, r27

by Anonymousreply 28April 13, 2024 9:57 PM

Just use finger nail clippers. The small concave blades snip only the ends.

by Anonymousreply 29April 14, 2024 1:22 AM

A professional waxer will remove only the lower portion of hairs. It’s painful but only for a split second. It’s not something I’d attempt on my own.

by Anonymousreply 30April 14, 2024 1:51 AM

An electric or battery-powered trimmer works well, for me, anyway.

by Anonymousreply 31April 15, 2024 2:47 AM

I turned 50 and all of a sudden nose and ear hair became a thing. They don't tell you this stuff. And what's even more interesting is that some of my nose hair is grey. I've thought about nose and ear hair waxing, but decided against it. I've stuck with the nose hair trimmers, but haven't been able to find a decent one.

by Anonymousreply 32April 15, 2024 2:53 AM

I learned the hard way not to trim my nose hair with scissors or a nasal clipper.

The problem?

The blunt end of a trimmed hair can cause irritation as the hair grows and touches the interior nostril on the opposite side.

by Anonymousreply 33April 15, 2024 12:06 PM

I just pull down two more, braid them and stick a bead on it!

by Anonymousreply 34April 15, 2024 12:23 PM

ONLY FOR ANCIENT COKE-HEADS, R33.

by Anonymousreply 35April 15, 2024 9:49 PM

BUMP

by Anonymousreply 36April 27, 2024 2:43 AM

I just trim them if they stick out. I use poppers to stave off any infection. So far so good.

by Anonymousreply 37April 27, 2024 2:47 AM

Oh, fuck no.

People have nasal hair. I'm not put off by it (never having seen, say, a forest of hair protruding from someone's nose).

For me it's irksome if the hairs get a bit long. When they start to do I make a quick, light buzz in each nostril with an electric clipper attachment, or the same with scissors sometimes. I'm not trying to Nair the inside of my nose, just tidy things up to a reasonable state and more comfortable as well.

by Anonymousreply 38April 27, 2024 2:58 AM

My barber waxed my ears but. I told him not to wax my nose - as stated above, we need our nose hairs

by Anonymousreply 39April 27, 2024 3:19 AM

I cornrow them

by Anonymousreply 40April 27, 2024 3:39 AM

I don’t have nose hairs?!
