To try and determine if a similar one has already been posted? Then try to be the first one to point it out?

If you see a topic being discussed in a thread all day long - and then 12 hours later some Rip van Winkle comes along creating a new thread on this very same topic as if he's telling us something we don't already know . . .

Is that considered doing research?
