No, R1 is "Oh, dear-ing" you because "Tennessee Williams' Character" (with the apostrophe) refers to "mental and moral qualities distinctive" to him as an individual, while "Tennessee Williams Character" (without the apostrophe) refers to a "person in a novel, play, or movie".
