I love Pollitt.

OP is probably a conservative who ignores Donald Trump's sexual assaults

[quote]Why Have Feminists Been So Slow to Condemn the Hamas Rapes?

Because of the double cancers of antisemitism and intersectionality, that's why. "Is it really rape when a brown Palestinian does it to a white Jew?"

[quote]He dragged her at gunpoint back to the child’s bedroom, a room covered in images of the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants, she recalled. “Then he, with the gun pointed at me, forced me to commit a sexual act on him,” Ms. Soussana said.

Why don't conservatives condemn Israel killing innocent women and children?

by Anonymousreply 3March 27, 2024 5:15 PM

Guess again, r1. And you're more than welcome to stalk my posting history to confirm.

The Nation in general, and Katha Pollitt in particular, are far from conservative.

But you knew that.

by Anonymousreply 4March 27, 2024 5:16 PM

Only conservatives attack feminists

by Anonymousreply 5March 27, 2024 5:17 PM

r3 Did you condemn Americans killing innocent Iraqis and Afghanis, and what did you personally do to stop it? Even Biden blew up mostly kiddies in the botched response to a suicide attack in the final days of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Did you condemn that?

by Anonymousreply 6March 27, 2024 5:18 PM

r5 Not really, no. You're also conflating white feminists in the West with feminists elsewhere. Those are a special breed, as evidenced by their silence on the Hamas rapes.

by Anonymousreply 7March 27, 2024 5:19 PM

Because most of the internet are cynical, chaos-seeking shitbag trolls, such as R5, R3, and R1.

by Anonymousreply 8March 27, 2024 5:19 PM

R6, more people died in Afghanistan under Trump than Biden, you braindead conservative moron.

R7 is totally silent on innocent females being killed in Gaza. Just like the Trump voter at r6

There are multiple scandals connected to the aftermath of Oct. 7. The IDF has a whole unit of people with forensic training, but they were barred from the crime scenes for a week. Instead, the commander in charge allowed Zaka, a volunteer association, come in to take photographs and collect bodies. Zaka was the source of many false stories about what had happened (“beheaded babies” and so forth) and badly mishandled the collection of evidence. Then the NYTimes was accused on printing a story about Hamas’s use of rape that misrepresented the evidence and misquoted interviewees. One of the co-authors has ties to the IDF, which the paper did not disclose.

As a result, there’s a cloud over any specifics.

Israel’s war in Gaza is not at all an “atrocity.” It’s a war started by Hamas. Only Israel is told to stand down during a war where the enemy holds 150 of their people, including a baby in diapers, as hostages and continues to lodge their own offensive. Insane.

by Anonymousreply 12March 27, 2024 6:18 PM

Block R11 as well

by Anonymousreply 13March 27, 2024 6:57 PM

Yep, r12. Not an atrocity at all.

by Anonymousreply 14March 27, 2024 8:14 PM

Oh I’m sorry r14. Are you under the impression that what Hamas did on October 7th doesn’t qualify as an atrocity? Go fuck yourself.

by Anonymousreply 15March 27, 2024 8:34 PM

Western feminist never condemn rapists if they have darker complexion. They only have beef with "white man on position of power". Don't know if it is out of fashion or is it something Freudian rrgarding their fathers.

by Anonymousreply 16March 27, 2024 9:17 PM

R15, are you under the impression that every person in Gaza is part of Hamas, including the small children? Go fuck yourself, you undereducated hillbilly. You make me sick.

by Anonymousreply 17March 27, 2024 11:50 PM

R17 = Information literacy and ethical reasoning, quite low. Anger and navel gazing, quite high.

by Anonymousreply 18March 28, 2024 1:33 AM

It wasn't just the rapes, there was torture and dismemberment too. But it's all good if Palestinians do it, right?

I knew after what Hamas did on October 7th that Israel was going to go full out on Hamas, and the number of innocent Palestinian deaths will dwarf whatever Hamas did . I'm not sure what a proper response should have been. There probably was no good option. For Hamas it was a win-win. They got to kill1400 Jews, take hostages, entrench themselves within and under the residencies of Palestinian communities, and play the victims. But Netenyahu Israel's apartheid policies gave fuel an excuse for Hamas to commit atrocities and then be the martyrs.

It sucks all around, but most feminist seem to only care about the Palestinian victims, and discount what started the whole thing.

by Anonymousreply 19March 28, 2024 1:52 AM

So she’s concerned about that but not the 10,000 plus Palestinian women murdered by the land-stealers? Well she certainly has her priorities in order!

(Feminists are completely silent about that too, by the way, but they’re eager to pipe up about fucking Barbie doll Oscar nominations.)

by Anonymousreply 20March 28, 2024 1:57 AM

[quote]It sucks all around, but most feminist seem to only care about the Palestinian victims

Really? Where are the feminist orgs decrying the effect of this massive murderous campaign on thousands of women?

by Anonymousreply 21March 28, 2024 1:58 AM

r20 if you're going to troll, at least be subtle about it.

by Anonymousreply 22March 28, 2024 7:08 AM

It’s Marxism. It’s anti-Western culture.

by Anonymousreply 23March 28, 2024 7:40 AM

R21, they’re on every college campus and every protest in the the U.S. and UK.

by Anonymousreply 24March 28, 2024 7:41 AM

[quote] are you under the impression that every person in Gaza is part of Hamas, including the small children?

The majority are. Go cry in the corner. They will happily throw your gay ass off a rooftop.

by Anonymousreply 25March 28, 2024 7:42 AM

Do Americans struggle with nuance more than other nationalities? Genuinely asking, because it seems so.

by Anonymousreply 26March 28, 2024 8:14 AM

R21, could you post some links? Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 27March 28, 2024 11:17 AM

R1 a TDS victim.
