This will be completely effective... So long as the kids don't lie or have never heard of a proxy. and if the inattentive parents actually bother to monitor their brats online activity, and tech companies based overseas and on the West Coast bother to update their TOS just for Florida. But other than that its completely watertight.

I don't even necessarily disagree with the idea its just unenforceable at anything under a national level and even that would be a push.

How is Florida going to enforce this law? Will they require social media companies to verify their users' age somehow, and exactly how will it work? We're already seeing the age verification system attacked in Texas which resulted in pornhub just blocking IPs registered to residents of the state, and like R4 points out there are numerous ways around that obstacle (and let's face it, the adults in Texas and now Florida are no match for tech-savvy kids).

And this is all before the law's Constitutionality is questioned.

I too actually agree with this but, yes, totally not enforceable. These platforms need to spend millions on anti-bullying initiatives and start kicking little shits to the curb after even a hint of asshole behavior. Schools, along with parents of course, should be teaching kids how to behave online.

Scientific studies have shown that social media alters brain function. Kids don't need to be on social media every waking moment. It discourages human interaction, etc. It should be limited for kids under 15 or 16.
