If this night was March 24, 1979, what would you be doing right now?

I would be in bed. My bedtime was 9:00 on school nights.

by Anonymousreply 43March 26, 2024 8:21 AM

I was a towel boy at the club baths. Sweat and cum.

by Anonymousreply 1March 25, 2024 2:14 AM

Probably jerking off

by Anonymousreply 2March 25, 2024 2:15 AM

I was 5 so probably being diddled by a catholic priest.

by Anonymousreply 3March 25, 2024 2:15 AM

I just got done watching the Sunday night programs with my family and I am in bed too.

by Anonymousreply 4March 25, 2024 2:15 AM

Oh my goodness, R1.

by Anonymousreply 5March 25, 2024 2:15 AM

I had just been conceived so I guess developing lungs or something

by Anonymousreply 6March 25, 2024 2:17 AM

It was a Saturday night, just before I turned 17. After dropping off friends (seeing a movie at South Bay Cinema) in Redondo, l would have snuck over to the video porn place on PCH in Hermosa and sucked some dicks, shoot a load off to someone else and then drive home to the folks.

by Anonymousreply 7March 25, 2024 2:18 AM

My parents were not Married yet.

I did not exist , neither did my sister who's in her 40s now.

💅💅💅💅

by Anonymousreply 8March 25, 2024 2:19 AM

I was at the Alibi in glamorous downtown Pomona.

by Anonymousreply 9March 25, 2024 2:21 AM

The Tender Box?

by Anonymousreply 10March 25, 2024 2:24 AM

I was probably shrieking the lyrics to ‘Tragedy’ by Bee Gees. I tried desperately to have the falsetto of my radio heroes. My Dad would sneak up from behind and kick me, and bellow that “real men sing like Vaughn Monroe!”

by Anonymousreply 11March 25, 2024 2:27 AM

That was the back-up spot only—the arcade was too small and narrow.. The much better one was two or three blocks south on the other side of PCH. It had a full back room with various - sized video booths. The best one had a lazy boy chair in it for comfort. I learned a lot at that place. 😛

Struggling academically and socially through my junior year in college. closeted with no self-esteem. Trying to make it with the ladies but had not social skills and lacked confidence. Everything was bleak, desperate and a lot of energy was spent on creating a straight persona to avoid harassment and alienation. I look back with amazement that I survived all of that and wished I could have directed my energy towards more positive endeavors. It Gets Better.

by Anonymousreply 14March 25, 2024 2:42 AM

I wouldn't be born yet.

by Anonymousreply 15March 25, 2024 2:45 AM

I was 13 years old and I had recently seen the movie HAIR with my parents and brother. I enjoyed it immensely especially the scene in the Army induction bureau where the young draftees strip completely naked- I thought my young gay head was going to explode.

by Anonymousreply 16March 25, 2024 2:51 AM

It was a Saturday in 1979, I was in Medical College of Penna hospital (Women's Medical College in East Falls) on Henry Ave. Getting my back scars treated because of foster care nightmare by my non-DNA dad (and his buddies). It was not fun, the PAIN was terrible, plus all the other damage THEY did to me!! I graduated from William Penn Charter in June,1979.

And then the fun begins OP-Revenge!!

by Anonymousreply 17March 25, 2024 2:58 AM

I would more than likely have had friends over for dinner—I was teaching myself to cook—in my apartment on Seattle's Capitol Hill, then gone to a bar, sometimes a bathouse near Tugs.

by Anonymousreply 18March 25, 2024 3:16 AM

I was 15, so I was probably at home that Saturday night watching BJ and the Bear (the pilot was shot in our hometown) on NBC, with my brothers and sister. The Love Boat was a rerun, anyway.

by Anonymousreply 19March 25, 2024 3:33 AM

Rehearsing Arsenic And Old Lace in New Jersey.

by Anonymousreply 20March 25, 2024 3:35 AM

Julio down by the school yard.

by Anonymousreply 21March 25, 2024 3:39 AM

I wasn't alive but I like to think I'd be doing drugs in a wood-paneled room surrounded by ferns.

by Anonymousreply 23March 25, 2024 3:42 AM

Probably pining over Lars, the Finnish exchange student in my high school who I was hopelessly in love with.

by Anonymousreply 24March 25, 2024 3:46 AM

Listening to the Grease movie soundtrack for the hundredth time and wishing my life was as interesting as the characters in the movie. Even though I was a teenage gay boy, I wanted to be Rizzo.

by Anonymousreply 25March 25, 2024 3:47 AM

Icing down my jaws after a vigorous workout

by Anonymousreply 26March 25, 2024 4:46 AM

I would’ve just turned 18 and probably at some keg and taking a bong hit with friends with KZOK playing in the background.

by Anonymousreply 27March 25, 2024 4:50 AM

I would have been 9 and watching the OTHER tv movie about retards in love, "No Other Love" starring Richard Thomas and Julie Kavner, making its world premiere this evening.

I loved Cliffhangers!

by Anonymousreply 29March 25, 2024 5:12 AM

I always ate a triple decker bologna sandwich a couple hours after a big supper. So that.

by Anonymousreply 30March 25, 2024 5:16 AM

10 months away from being born.

So I was enjoying the peaceful blackness of pre life, with no idea that the shit was about to hit the fan.

by Anonymousreply 31March 25, 2024 8:57 AM

Oh 1979, into our second year living in London. The boyfriend and I had left Downunder to see the World. What simple times those were and...we're still together.

by Anonymousreply 32March 25, 2024 9:28 AM

I was surely asleep in my crib at 8 months old.

by Anonymousreply 33March 25, 2024 10:10 AM

I was always plotting to run away as soon as the weather got warm. So I'd be stressing over that.

by Anonymousreply 34March 25, 2024 10:19 AM

The 22nd, two days earlier would have been our 4th anniversary, so we'd have marked it on Saturday the 24th. We'd just both turned 21, so we would have gone to Nashua, NH to have dinner at the Green Ridge Turkey Farm. Afterwards we'd have headed to Tyngsboro, Mass and spent the evening dancing at Dirocco's Cabaret.

by Anonymousreply 35March 25, 2024 7:12 PM

Hating college and thinking about dropping out.

by Anonymousreply 36March 25, 2024 11:51 PM

Sobering up mother.

by Anonymousreply 37March 25, 2024 11:58 PM

I would have been out and about, trying to get laid. It was virtually all I did.

by Anonymousreply 38March 26, 2024 2:31 AM

I was also 5. I was probably "acting the fool" before bedtime.

by Anonymousreply 39March 26, 2024 3:34 AM

Not sure what a Saturday might have been like then - Carol Burnett and Mary were done by '79.

On Sunday night I might have been recording the Hardy Boys.....not on a VCR mind you but an old tape recorder. My sister, who loved Shaun Cassidy, worked on Sunday nights so she would pay me a quarter to tape it for her like that.

by Anonymousreply 40March 26, 2024 3:41 AM

I was a disco teen in the 8th grade. I was likely, lip-syncing for my life to, Amii Stewart's, "Knock on Wood", whenever it came on the radio.

by Anonymousreply 41March 26, 2024 7:34 AM

I was definitely watching The Love Boat and Fantasy Island, then reading with a flashlight under the covers, with my transistor radio under my pillow playing disco hits (I was nine!)

by Anonymousreply 42March 26, 2024 8:13 AM

Sleeping in an old wooden barracks at Ft. Meade before NSA took it over.
