I would be in bed. My bedtime was 9:00 on school nights.
If this night was March 24, 1979, what would you be doing right now?

I was a towel boy at the club baths. Sweat and cum.

It was a Saturday night, just before I turned 17. After dropping off friends (seeing a movie at South Bay Cinema) in Redondo, l would have snuck over to the video porn place on PCH in Hermosa and sucked some dicks, shoot a load off to someone else and then drive home to the folks.

I was probably shrieking the lyrics to ‘Tragedy’ by Bee Gees. I tried desperately to have the falsetto of my radio heroes. My Dad would sneak up from behind and kick me, and bellow that “real men sing like Vaughn Monroe!”
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 25, 2024 2:27 AM |
That was the back-up spot only—the arcade was too small and narrow.. The much better one was two or three blocks south on the other side of PCH. It had a full back room with various - sized video booths. The best one had a lazy boy chair in it for comfort. I learned a lot at that place. 😛

Struggling academically and socially through my junior year in college. closeted with no self-esteem. Trying to make it with the ladies but had not social skills and lacked confidence. Everything was bleak, desperate and a lot of energy was spent on creating a straight persona to avoid harassment and alienation. I look back with amazement that I survived all of that and wished I could have directed my energy towards more positive endeavors. It Gets Better.

I wouldn't be born yet.

I was 13 years old and I had recently seen the movie HAIR with my parents and brother. I enjoyed it immensely especially the scene in the Army induction bureau where the young draftees strip completely naked- I thought my young gay head was going to explode.

It was a Saturday in 1979, I was in Medical College of Penna hospital (Women's Medical College in East Falls) on Henry Ave. Getting my back scars treated because of foster care nightmare by my non-DNA dad (and his buddies). It was not fun, the PAIN was terrible, plus all the other damage THEY did to me!! I graduated from William Penn Charter in June,1979.
And then the fun begins OP-Revenge!!

I would more than likely have had friends over for dinner—I was teaching myself to cook—in my apartment on Seattle's Capitol Hill, then gone to a bar, sometimes a bathouse near Tugs.

I was 15, so I was probably at home that Saturday night watching BJ and the Bear (the pilot was shot in our hometown) on NBC, with my brothers and sister. The Love Boat was a rerun, anyway.

Listening to the Grease movie soundtrack for the hundredth time and wishing my life was as interesting as the characters in the movie. Even though I was a teenage gay boy, I wanted to be Rizzo.

So I was enjoying the peaceful blackness of pre life, with no idea that the shit was about to hit the fan.

Oh 1979, into our second year living in London. The boyfriend and I had left Downunder to see the World. What simple times those were and...we're still together.

I was surely asleep in my crib at 8 months old.

I was always plotting to run away as soon as the weather got warm. So I'd be stressing over that.

The 22nd, two days earlier would have been our 4th anniversary, so we'd have marked it on Saturday the 24th. We'd just both turned 21, so we would have gone to Nashua, NH to have dinner at the Green Ridge Turkey Farm. Afterwards we'd have headed to Tyngsboro, Mass and spent the evening dancing at Dirocco's Cabaret.

I was also 5. I was probably "acting the fool" before bedtime.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 26, 2024 3:34 AM |
Not sure what a Saturday might have been like then - Carol Burnett and Mary were done by '79.
On Sunday night I might have been recording the Hardy Boys.....not on a VCR mind you but an old tape recorder. My sister, who loved Shaun Cassidy, worked on Sunday nights so she would pay me a quarter to tape it for her like that.

I was a disco teen in the 8th grade. I was likely, lip-syncing for my life to, Amii Stewart's, "Knock on Wood", whenever it came on the radio.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 26, 2024 7:34 AM |
I was definitely watching The Love Boat and Fantasy Island, then reading with a flashlight under the covers, with my transistor radio under my pillow playing disco hits (I was nine!)
