What happened to Gen X in politics?

It's like an empty vacuum of suckitude.

by Anonymousreply 27March 26, 2024 2:35 AM

Ask Nikki Haley

by Anonymousreply 1March 16, 2024 11:58 AM

I’m still here.

by Anonymousreply 2March 16, 2024 1:15 PM

Cool Gen-Xers in politics abound, OP:

Gretchen Whitmer

Gavin Newsom

Andrew Yang

Richard Cordray

by Anonymousreply 3March 16, 2024 1:23 PM

R3, you can’t be serious.

by Anonymousreply 4March 16, 2024 1:24 PM

Yes, I am!

by Anonymousreply 5March 16, 2024 1:25 PM

It's probably for the better. Too many of us turned out to be racist Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 6March 16, 2024 2:00 PM

But tthey SWORE they were so much better than millennials!!!

by Anonymousreply 7March 18, 2024 7:51 AM

So much suck!

by Anonymousreply 8March 23, 2024 3:50 AM

OP, could you BE more annoying??

by Anonymousreply 9March 23, 2024 4:09 AM

The Boomers got raked across the coals for their MAGA Republican attitude, r9. I dunno why gen x expects a free pass for the same behavior?

by Anonymousreply 10March 23, 2024 4:12 AM

We didn't care. Just don't order from Domino's because they support Operation Rescue.

by Anonymousreply 11March 23, 2024 4:22 AM

Like, politics is totally lame.

Like, gag me.

by Anonymousreply 12March 23, 2024 4:23 AM

I have no idea why you'd want us to run anything, OP. Hell, my 40th high school reunion is coming up, but no one wanted to plan it, and no one wants to go. That's just our way. A feral childhood in the 1970's will do that to a person.

by Anonymousreply 13March 23, 2024 4:34 AM

Do what my class does.

We just go to Vegas.

Pick a hotel, and let the casino do the rest.

Everyone makes their own travel plans. Then meet up at one of the bars or restaurants.

You can eat and drink, and gamble, and socialize, and hang out by the pool - all in one place.

Easy as shit, and it's really fun.

Because they're too close in age to demonic boomers to have achieved any relevance. The selfish and evil boomers pushed them out, but the millennials and subsequent generations will have more impact on society for two reasons. 1 - coming into full adulthood as boomers die off. 2 - experienced the drastic change brought on by technology during more formative years.

by Anonymousreply 15March 23, 2024 4:41 AM

OP, household vacuums may be empty or full. Figurative vaccine are always empty.

by Anonymousreply 16March 23, 2024 4:43 AM

I think Gen X experienced Stockholm Syndrome from so many years of being under the Boomers' thumb that they don't know what to do except emulate their kidnappers.

by Anonymousreply 17March 23, 2024 4:48 AM

^^vacuums

by Anonymousreply 18March 23, 2024 4:48 AM

R17: MARY!!!

by Anonymousreply 19March 23, 2024 4:56 AM

experienced the drastic change brought on by technology during more formative years.

You say this about Gen X? The generation that saw the moon landing, beginning of computerization, cell phones etc. We are the poster children of this new age, certainly not the stupid boomers who can't fucking figure out the self checkout.

by Anonymousreply 20March 23, 2024 6:06 AM

I didn’t do this, I’ll psycho analyze all this bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 21March 23, 2024 7:20 AM

R20 millennials. I don’t really mean like the technical operation of phones and computers. I mean the social and psychological effect of the internet and social media. Even some older millennials at least finished high school before smart phones and social media apps became widespread.

Gen X was at the beginning of this new age we live in now, weve seen it all, we need to see the boomers die off quickly, never fast enough.

Gen X Democrats in the House of Reps are awesome. Cannot say the same for Gen X Republicans. Those people are the worst of the worst. I'm guessing they were molestated as children or so neglected they are aggreived that they weren't molested as children (like their friends).

by Anonymousreply 25March 26, 2024 1:13 AM

Gen X Dems are great but Gen X Repubs are scum. Gee, it’s almost like making sweeping statements purely based on generation is bull shit.

by Anonymousreply 26March 26, 2024 1:38 AM

They're so high on dope they think the whole world is a global village where we should join hands and sing kum-ba-yah.
