I got an early screening ticket and am watching it tonight. I am so excited. It’s getting rave reviews.
Please stop.

Sydney, let your publicist do this work for you.
You don't need to come to DL to promote yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 13, 2024 10:49 PM |
I never thought of that?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 13, 2024 10:51 PM |
I don't have anything against this performer but I have nothing to say in support of her presence in our public consciousness.
I am not a straight white dude so a big-breasted,dishwater blond does not do it for me.

CANCEL SYDNEY SWEENEY!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 14, 2024 12:49 AM |
Is the Sydney Sweeny stan actually our beloved ocean heifer?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 14, 2024 12:51 AM |
R6 Yes! That's exactly who it is! It certainly isn't me...er...Sydney Sweeney doing it herself!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 14, 2024 12:52 AM |
Looks like a Nun knockoff. Sad.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 14, 2024 12:56 AM |

A horror movie? Meh.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 14, 2024 1:34 AM |
Her face is perfect for the horror genre.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 14, 2024 1:39 AM |
She has such an undefined nose. It really bothers me. She had better take care of her bazongas, as they are real and will start sagging in her 30's.

The most wt trailer park average face trashy slut playing a nun. Her Oscar is in the bag for next year.
Seriously, though, I could kill her reps for foisting this Ho on the rest of us.

As someone brought up Catholic, I always have an affinity for Catholic-themed horror movies, even if they're contrived (and most are). Perhaps the fact that I was raised Catholic is why I like horror films in the first place. In any case, she looks very beautiful in the stills I've seen from the film. I will probably go see this. I thought she was one of the best actors on Euphoria.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 14, 2024 3:41 AM |
Idk if this chick is smart or dumb to be saying yes to every role she is offered. She seems to be in something new every month.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 14, 2024 3:50 AM |
R17 this was apparently a project she auditioned for in 2014, but it fell apart and never materialized due to financing issues. After some years passed and she earned some cultural currency, she was able to help get it off the ground (she's credited as one of the producers). It seems to be a passion project of sorts.

by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 14, 2024 5:10 AM |
R18 Knows so much about Sydney, it's wild. I know he's definitely not her. Average gay men always know the roles she auditioned for and even the roles she turned down.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 14, 2024 5:32 AM |
r25, there was an article about her and the project in the trade rags yesterday that said all those things.

Does she show her tits in the movie, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 14, 2024 5:34 PM |
R17 r18 she co-produced the film. She started her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, which co-produces with other film production companies. “Immaculate” was produced by Black Bear Pictures and Fifty-Fifty Films (hers). It was then bought and distributed by Neon.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 14, 2024 7:05 PM |
R27 correct. Men in general would be into her. Shes not only physically attractive with great tits, but she’s very feminine also. Her high, feminine and gentle way of speaking alone would probably get them hard. But she knows this about herself.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 14, 2024 7:09 PM |
Lmao the Conservatives are pissed off about this movie. They have adopted Sweeney as the face of Conservatism for some reason and are blaming Liberals for this movie and make it sound like Libs FORCED her to be in it lmao.
Who wants to tell them she is the one who produced the film and is the one responsible for making sure it was made?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 23, 2024 6:54 PM |
Shes giving Neon their biggest opening ever with $5 million on a $9 million budget. I never realized how micro budgeted all their films are and none make a lot of money. This one will easily make profit.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 23, 2024 7:01 PM |
I don’t get her appeal. She just looks perpetually bored.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 23, 2024 7:14 PM |
r16, you may like Saint Maud.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 23, 2024 7:15 PM |
The pic at OP where you don't see her tits, only her face with mousy brown hair and less makeup shows how really basic she is.
Also, her eyes always look so dead/bored/on the verge of slipping off into a coma.
Nothing special when you're not blinded by big ol' tits.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 23, 2024 8:33 PM |
This is not my kind of horror movie
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 23, 2024 8:38 PM |
R37 it’s a horror film for mature audiences. Stick to Scream 6.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 23, 2024 8:56 PM |
I was raised Southern Baptist, so damned boring... Had a friend who was Catholic, I was fascinated by the images of Mary, the Infant of Prague, etc. in her home, seemed so exotic. For other fans of horror & Catholic kitsch, "Alice, Sweet, Alice" is a good one.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 23, 2024 8:56 PM |
R39 nothing Mary about that post. Self-proclaimed Mary’s don’t work.

by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 23, 2024 9:00 PM |
R36 disagree. She has an angelic look in this film and very naturally pretty. You are so envious it’s insane. That or you think the modern cosmetic surgery faces at 20 is what beauty is.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 23, 2024 9:12 PM |
r42 There's nothing for me to be envious of, truly. I'm just commenting on my her - in my opinion. I've done the same about dozens of other actors/actresses/musicians/etc. She looks bored as fuck all the time and pretty average.
Your opinion obviously differs, and that's fine.

[quote]—Definitely not Sydney Sweeney
Yes, I’m quite sure she’s taking social media time off from her twelve MILLION followers on Instagram to come here and urge a handful of geriatric homosexuals to approve of her. 🙄

by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 23, 2024 10:53 PM |
R35 I have seen Saint Maud—loved it, of course. Also a fan of Alice, Sweet Alice, which was mentioned upthread. There is so much mystique, ritual (bordering on the occult), and morbid artwork embedded in the institution of Catholicism that I think lends it to so well to the horror genre.
I am going to see Immaculate tomorrow and am looking forward to it. Mark Kermode gave it a favorable review, and I trust his opinion, especially where religious-themed horror is concerned.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 24, 2024 4:44 AM |
She’s great on Euphoria but I’m really not into religious or pregnancy horror
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 24, 2024 5:54 AM |
A friend with great taste in films said she was great in it and gutsy to participate in some wild twist ending.
I still won't see it, but FWIW.

Her family’s MAGA, right? That’s the hesitation with this one?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 24, 2024 6:02 AM |
She has such a plain face and i cannot put my finger on why although I’m not surprised she’s from the Northwest as people there are plain as a mud fence.

R53 huh? Who gives a fuck what her family is?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 24, 2024 12:47 PM |
She looks like a bloody shit.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 24, 2024 12:48 PM |
Just saw Immaculate. Great sets and costumes , very good photography. First time seeing Sidney Sweeney act in a movie. She started as serviceable, but steadily ramped her energy up, and the finale was amazing…drenched with blood and howling. The movie is very self aware, tongue in cheek with it being campy. We laughed several times, but we were the only viewers laughing. Recommended if you want 90 minutes of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 27, 2024 4:04 AM |
* Tongue is cheek withOUT being campy ^
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 27, 2024 4:05 AM |
I liked it, didn't love it. It did feel a lot like a B-movie with a dash of artiness. Some of the dialogue felt stilted to me. Sweeney was good in it, but I already knew she was a capable actress after seeing her in Euphoria. Conservatives are going apeshit on social media calling the film Satanic and the image of Sweeney dressed as Mother Mary "sacrilege". Clearly none of them have seen the film; her character is in fact being perpetrated against by a crazy Catholic offshoot cult that are trying to impregnate a nun with Jesus's baby using DNA harvesting (which frankly sounds extremely Satanic to me).

Sydney Sweeney smashed her new born baby son with A HUGE ROCK
Is her baby the Anti Christ? Or an innocent baby?

The Catholics don't come off well in this one..
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 3, 2024 8:47 PM |
Well they are a cult in the guise of Catholicism.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 4, 2024 12:06 AM |
What R64 said. A lot of conservatives have been calling this film sacrilegious, blasphemous, evil, etc.— I am really confused by these claims because the film is not really about Catholicism. It's about a perverse offshoot cult that is operating under the facade of being a Catholic convent, but they are practicing things that are antithetical to the religion (i.e. murder, impregnating nuns, practicing DNA harvesting/genetic engineering). The convent in the film is not supposed to represent Catholicism as a whole.

Terrific film. Very effective. And now I know that Sweeney can really act. Not many can pull off what she does in the last 20 minutes of the film.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 4, 2024 5:57 AM |
Everyone knows she can act
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 4, 2024 12:59 PM |
R69 a lot of people on DL hate her and I've read many posts from people claiming she's a bad actress. I definitely don't agree. She was one of the best (if not the best) actors on Euphoria, and she delivered the goods in this film too.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | April 5, 2024 2:15 AM |
I went and rewatched this for the hell of it tonight. I was the only person in the theater and I enjoyed it a lot more the second time around. Aside from a few stilted moments, it is artfully done and gives a nice spin on a well-trodden subgenre. Sweeney did a stellar job in the single-take final scene. Very good acting.
