Liam Neeson starring in “The Naked Gun” reboot

No one can replace Leslie Nielsen. He was a national treasure.

Well, Liam was hilarious in Schindler's List so this sounds like a great fit.

Wow, he looks his age, and then some.

Ancient exec: “Why don’t we do another one of those Naked Gun movies with that… um… Liam Neeson.”

Next in line: “Do you mean Leslie Nielsen? Because he’s been dead for—”

Ancient exec: “No, I know that! I’m not slipping! You’re slipping… Make it happen just as I said.”

Playing against type could work.

Leslie Nielsen didn't play against type until Airplane! and then Naked Gun.

Liam looks sickly. I never heard of the director, but "former Saturday Night Live writer" would seem to be the kiss of death.

My instinctive reaction is "yikes."

I normally hate reboots but I think this could work. Jason Statham did it “Spy” and he was pretty funny. Liam is the better actor so, why not? And he hosted SNL.

Well, how long can he do action man movies? It’s either comedy or back to dramas.

Maybe Jussie Smollett can play the OJ part.

Will they spoof King Charles? Will there be a Los Angeles banquet with Megan, Harry, and Charles III?

Ugh. No. The Naked Gun movies work because of Leslie's delivery. Liam has done comedy before, but he doesn't do dead pan humor as well as Leslie did.

Terrible idea. Leslie Nielsen WAS Naked Gun. Can’t imagine Liam Neeson of all people in the role—a real WTF casting choice.

I like Liam but his career seems to consist now in making increasingly dreadful movies.
