'Young Royals' season 3

So, the season is out (except for the last episode). What did you think?

Oh man, I've so many shows to get through still, I groaned out loud yesterday when I saw the new season dropped. I think I'll start tomorrow, love this show.

I just finished the first season. I know, I'm way behind. I quite liked it! It was pretty great!

But I have super shallow question: Is it just me or is everyone, well, not very good looking? Is that kinda the point? There's really no attractive people at all save for the lead, who is just barely skirting the edge of handsome. The prince - who I just assumed would be stunning - is average at best with horrible skin.

It's totally fine. It's a bit refreshing. But it just isn't what I'm used to with most TV dramas centered around young people. Usually, the entire cast is drop dead.

R3, yes, they cast actual teenagers and wanted to portray them in a more realistic fashion. I also thought it was quite refreshing.

Yes, they were intentionally cast that way and that was a huge point of discussion when the first season came out, here and elsewhere. People liked that they were seeing normal-looking teenagers for a change instead of Riverdale-style adult models.

i watched 2 seasons and now starting on the 3rd.

Looks like the poor kid from wrong side of tracks, the one the prince is in love with got a nose job!

The prince's skin has improved. Maybe just because he's older now or maybe he's been treated for his acne. The latino guy is kind of good looking, but I have a weakness for feminine latino guys anyway

his skin is still quite bad. acne scars. maybe not as bad as the first season but still not great.

The ending seemed unlikely, at the least. I did like that the Prince's drama with his family and Simon's heartaches (a socialist? really?) were so personal, in conflict, and each expected the other to "be there for me".... seemed like real teen romance: "but what about MY needs!!??" But, it all resolved in a magical, quick, facile and completely unrealistic way. Sara and August's subplot just bounced around with no logic nor interest. Simon's las valedictory song (which, of course, was not really good bye) ... well, something must have been lost in translation.

These quirky-looking actors never lived in a script that was "real"... and it's good that season three puts it out of its misery.

I enjoyed the ending and am glad they left it that way at 3 seasons

It'd be nice if someone did a show about young, regular working-class teenagers.

Finished it yesterday and it was a slog. Without the scandalous element of the first season – and to an extent, the second – it's just another teenage drama, which I'm kinda too old for. The music wasn't that great this season either.

Glad they wrapped it up.

I may be saggy but at least I don't have zits!
