The trailer is so full of Kristen Stewart-isms (the blank slackjawed stare, the stuttering, the quick anxious exhale) that watching it made me want to commit suicide. The fact that she has defenders who herald her as a great actress is an affront to humanity.

Rose Glass's first film, "Saint Maud", was quite good, but the subject matter and style here don't look like my cup of tea. Kristen Stewart as the lead is a massive turn-off. It utterly confounds me how she manages to keep working, let alone all of the critical praise she gets. She is one of the most uninteresting and irritating performers I've ever seen. Her twitches, stuttering, and sighs overtake every performance I've ever seen her in. The only thing she's ever made me feel onscreen is the overwhelming desire to throw a brick at her face.
