His voice was shot to hell too. He actually sounded like Pazuzu in The Exorcist III from all the boozing.

That must've been hard to watch for Jason, particularly after his father struggled all of his life with poverty and the guilt of not being able to properly provide for his family, only to flush his health down the drain after he "made it". So I listened to this double interview of Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland. Kiefer said his divorce with mother of his daughter Sarah is a huge regret in his life (because of his children). Jason in response to that told Kiefer to tell the story of his wedding - and Kiefer didn't want to, he seemed embarrassed by it. So I am listening Jason's interview for podcast Ty and That Guy. It's two hours long and it's mostly about his movie career, very little about his personal life. He talks about his father and he mentioned his father is an example for him. Example of how to fuck up your talent and fame. I find it rather ironic because to be honest, Jason is an example of rather mediocre career for a man who seemingly had it all. I know he had his hits, but nothing on the level of Jason Miller's role in Exorcist.

Jason also bitterly mentioned that his father was 33 when he made Exorcist, but looked 48. He is right, but it still sounded strangely bitter.
