R111, I just watched Peggy Dow as a double-dealin’ dame in Woman in Hiding staring Ida Lupino. (Currently on Criterion as part of a Gothic Noir series.) She was great! She retired shortly after this film when she landed an oil baron.

When I looked up the cast, I was stunned to see Peggy Dow will be turning 96 in a couple weeks. Then I wondered if she’d been added to this nonagenarian list.

Of course a gay was already on the job!

For some reason as a kid watching old movies on TV I really liked Peggy Dow. I think because I was a little kid, I loved the one where she played a reincarnated horse, opposite Dick Powell. I don't remember the name. Then I saw her in Harvey, and a movie about the home front during the Korean war, called I Want You (with some bigger stars, Dorothy McGuire, Dana Andrews, Farley Granger). Years later I looked her up and was surprised her career was so short.
