RE: My Cholesterol is Too High

I love this idea R11! OP, I need to get mine checked asap, so thanks for the unwitting reminder. As an immediate change I recommend NO butter or eeevil substitutes, more fish, no red meat (less meat the better), no processed chicken or turkey.

Buy fresh and cook it...tastes lovely and is good for u. I used to make a pot of veg/carrot+coriander soup and have it as part of a lunch or dinner every day. I had to sacrifice my beloved cheese...but not entirely. Also, if you have a fibre rich cereal in the morning add blueberries/cranberries to it or have them with porridge (like oatmeal but better) if it is cold.

When asked if would like a position on the Supreme Court, he said "Sure, wouldn't you?", like it's his ultimate dream.

I would love to see him on the Supreme Court. I think he could reverse a lot of harm even if he only serves a few years.

RE: I used to love the holidays until they added the fake one, Kwanza, to the list.

1) There's no such thing as a fall "harvest" in Africa, where they have tropical and sub-tropical climates

2) If they were to have a "fall" harvest, Africa being in the southern hemisphere would have it 6 months later than the northern hemisphere

3) Corn is from the Americas, it did not exist in Africa.

4) Swahili (the language of Kwanza) is an EAST African language which was never spoken by any ancestors of american blacks which came from WEST Africa.

5) The tribes of Africa have nothing in common with each other (other than skin color) and they continue to hate and kill each other to this day. There was no common ANYTHING between them.

6) The holiday was created by a shitty SoCal community college professor with a "black identity" political agenda. It was not based on a "tradition" of anything.

RE: My Cholesterol is Too High

I am trying to avoid the drugs too. In one summer my cholesterol went down 30 points just by cutting out *most* animal proteins/Mayo etc. Here's what I try to eat:

Bowl of oatmeal or cereal w/soy milk OR egg whites w/some salsa.

lunch whole grain sandwich w/lots of veggies - low fat italian dressing and a touch of feta cheese for flavor or grilled chicken w/greens

You get the picture - overall avoid fried stuff/red meat/cheeses and junk - exercise moderately 3 x a week and you'll see a HUGE difference in your numbers.

Once in a while it's ok to have bad stuff just not all the time.

by: it's not that bad - my dad's liver is shot from long term statins - no thanks 11/21/08 @14:14
RE: And these people can get married?

I may be out of cuntiness for the day, but all I took away from their pics was how genuinely happy they looked together. What a sweet couple. I have a hard time feeling superior to them when I am so miserable myself. God bless em.

RE: Men: Your hair history?

My hair history roughly parallels that of the British Empire.

For a while, my hair was the most spectacular on the planet. Then it began a long, slow decline. And bit by bit, it simply fell away.

What's left is best described as a loose collection of former dependents which graciously cling to a popular, but aging, queen.

RE: Is Matthew Broderick gay?

Because he is cute? You must be writing from some way back time in the 1980s. Are you wearing shoulder pads? How big is your hair? What color are your leg warmers? Believe it or not, Pat Benatar and Cindy Lauper or no longer big stars. And Madonna is British. But not for long.

RE: Actual Michigan Womyn's Music Festival Forum thread: "Fat at Fest"

In major sweaty weather, I've rolled up cotton washcloths under my breasts, in my bra, to keep the bra more dry. I generally wear light, long pants, or cotton shorts. A "medicated" powder (sort of camphor smelling) is helpful, especially if anything starts feeling rash-y.
