I saw him somewhere back in the early 90s - at some gay group - and I can say he looked even hotter in person that he did on tv.%0D\
Your bringing him up OP makes me curious as to what he looks like now and what he''s doing.
Not to be confused with Jim Dale who is creating quite a stir on THEATRE GOSSIP #59.%0D\
Or James Badge Dale from AMC''s cancelled RUBICON and the HBO miniseries THE PACIFIC.
By the way, did you know that James Badge Dale%0D\
is the offspring of actress Anita Morris (who sang A CALL TO THE VATICAN in the original Bway production of NINE) and choreographer-dancer Grover Dale?
Ooh, nice puffy pink tits on Dale.%0D\
He''s very handsome, perhaps even a little too handsome... Hanging out with him would be like spending time with a Ken doll.
About a decade ago he was stunning. Like in the 99.9th percentile of gay men. \
Now he''s just boyishly cute.\
Apparently major drug or alcohol issues, about five years ago he fell down the stairs at some party in Chelsea while sossed and broke every bone in his body.
R9''s comment made me realize that he could be considered the gay Luke Wilson, who also started off attractive with luxuriant dark hair, striking blue eyes, and chiseled jaw, and then began to degrade precipitously. I personally think Dale still looks great, but your mileage may vary...
He should have done the smart thing and married an A-gay when he had the chance.
Sorry OP. I meant James Badge Dale, as R5 said. He''s a total douchebag. I''ll try to read more carefully before I defame someone next time.
R1, sobering up on Christmas Day
I''m in the minority, but I loved Rubicon and wish it was still airing. The Pacific was great too.
Now wait a minute, who are we talking about?
The Eagle Scout gay activist.%0D
I thought we were talking about James Badge Dale, too, OP, but your James Dale is much, much hotter. Thank you.
I saw him speak at an event years ago, and he was GORGEOUS in person
He always looks so sad and martyred though in a romantic way. What does he do for a living?
More info on James Badge Dale, please.
Badge Dale is set to co-star with Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan in the new Steve McQueen film, Shame. I''ve read the script, and it''s very edgy. Fassbender is the lead, but Dale''s star definitely appears to be on the rise (alledged douchebaggery notwithstanding).
I know I seem to be the only one who likes this guy, but I think he's hot.
I went to RU with him. Talk about a transformation. Back then he was kinda chunky, bad skin, lots of black eye liner and a fembot.
R25, I take it you're not referring to James badge dale the actor, but the other guy. (?) Somebody needs to start a Badge Dale thread.
R25 James Dale, the guy that sued the Boy Scouts.
He's in the news again.
Former Eagle Scout James Dale is (kind of) in the news again as the Boy Scouts of America are 'revisiting' their policy of not allowing out gays to be members.
I remember being so proud of him for taking on the public battle back in the 90s. His case opened a new front on battle for the equality. And because of that he became sort of a hero to me back then for being one of only a handful of pioneering gays getting regular press.
I hope the Boy Scouts come to their senses and stop prohibiting gay people from participating.
Mostly I don't give a crap about the Scouts, but I seriously want to see James Dale back in his uniform...with the short shorts.
I wish James had been the one to present the GLAAD award to Anderson Cooper instead of Madonna. I would seriously like to see Mr. Dale wearing that same outfit she did.
I was hoping that we'd hear/see more of Dale with the Boy Scouts reconsidering their ban of gay scouts & scout leaders this week.
Here is a short clip of him speaking from GLAAD Media.
He's still a very handsome man. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.
Why doesn't he just die? It's over.
R33...and you've done WHAT for the glbt community, ASSHOLE??
I've stayed thin and kempt, instead of letting myself deteriorate into a triple-chinned chubbo slob, R37.
And technically, James Dale didn't do anything for the LGBT community. He lost his case. Nothing changed.
R33/R38, go die in a grease fire you piece of shit.
Oooh, you 'stayed thin'...what an accomplishment! Meanwhile your brain has atrophied and your soul is as black as coal. Well done! Too bad about your lack of conscience or political consciousness though. But you're thin! I notice you didn't say "fit", Olive Oyl. Very telling slip. Lots of very sick people are thin, I find. Dementia, perhaps?
He stood up for something, quite publicly. He has guts. I'd fuck his hot fat ass any day over your greasy, bony shit-stained protuberance.
He is a dead ringer for Luke Wilson when he got fat.
News from today...
60% of the delegates voted to change the policy and allow out gays to be Boy Scouts.
You are a nasty little bitch R33/R38. It will be poetic justice for you to get obese so you can be the subject of such ridiculous nastiness. He has done more for equality than I dare say you probably have in your lifetime. Bet you have been too busy with your skinny ass looks.
I still love James Badge Dale. I have no idea why gays would want to be boy scouts, and I could not care less that they won't let us in. It is just not a club I want to join. Kind of like the army.
But back to James Badge Dale. It'd be funny if the other one's nickname were "Badge," being a boy scout and all.
Well for someone who broke every bone in his body, he looks damn good.
Not only does Dale not think the new Boy Scouts policy is great, he calls it a step backward.
And the policy doesn't really make sense - the conflicting message of allowing young boys to be out and still be a scout, but having them aware that once they are adults, they are no longer allowed in the organization.
Well there's somebody who won't settle for half a loaf.
He was horrible in Iron Man 3. Such a nothing part. Did he even have lines?
[quote]Did he even have lines?
Doubtful, since he isn't an actor and wasn't in Iron Man 3.
The joke is MAYBE funny one time (and even that is debatable), but repeating it in the same short thread? No.
James Dale interviewed in the PIX 11 (NYC) studio for a piece on the recent vote. He is making his point that the new policy is still destructive to psyche of young men because of the contradictory message.
Wilson Cruz is also interviewed in the piece. He takes the more positive spin that the vote is a good first step in the right direction and the Scouts need to go farther.
