Don't get me wrong, I like looking at porn, but NOTHING gets me off - and then lingers in my mind - like good erotic fiction. %0D %0D Does anyone else still "read" for sexual stimulation?%0D %0D If so, any recommendations?
Reading Porn as Opposed to Watching It

There used to be several websites with stories but I somehow lost track. Will have to look for them again - if I can recall some of the site names.

I prefer reading erotica over pictures or video. I used to read many of the erotica anthologies that came out, mostly because I used to write the stuff, but the recent stuff hasn't been that good. Flesh and the Word was a great series. I usually can't get off on stuff in Best Gay Erotica and a few of the other annual series like Friction and Ultimate Gay Erotica.

Nope, gay men.

It is permanently hilarious how the categories on Nifty go Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Trans/BESTIALITY. Having said that I can't imagine my sexually frustrated adolescence without access to seemingly infinite semiliterate "First Time" stories on that website

Nifty.org cracks me up, the gay section. You can tell right away which stories were submitted by homo males and which stories were submitted by females.
Females: long drawn out tales of feelings and emotions between the two boys or young men -- declarations of love and devotion -- gauzy and brief depictions of gay sex when it finally happens after a shit ton of plot buildup and lovey dovey back n 'forth. Then after the sex scene, a return to plot buildup (often anti-gay violence that somehow only deepens the love between the characters) and more lovey-dovey.
Males: some plot or not, but the main point is cocksucking, buttfucking SEX.

Still read a bunch of the new anthologies that come out. Always get the job done (and support the local gay bookstore as well).. Anthologies are better then a long form story. If you don't like where a writer is going, you can move on to something else without investing a lot of time.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 23, 2012 12:16 PM |
Can you recommend some anthologies, r20? I don't really know where to start. Thanks!

I like to read porn too, but there are definitely written boner killers. I was reading something and the narrator was supposed to be a hot masculine daddy working to seduce a twink. He then referred to his en suite bathroom and detailed the decor of his bedroom. This is supposed to be a porn site, not HGTV.

When I was in college, you could go to the local Thrifty's and buy these little books right off the magazine rack filled with "letters" about all sorts of sexual adventures. They weren't all by Penthouse (which were pretty mild in comparison) but all were supposed letters written by regular people who had strayed into the wildside.
Then Reagan was elected and they all disappeared.

My uncle was into porn (this was in the era where if you wanted porn you had to send away for it or go to an adult bookstore). I don't know where he got them, but he got very graphic paperback books describing in fictional detail every kind of perversity. One book was about a man who could only derive sexual satisfaction from sex with little girls. One was about bestiality; it described a woman having hot sex with her poodle, among other things. And one was called "Confessions of a Lesbian. Boy, that one was something! I can even remember the plot. A lesbian marries an old man for his money. He dies, and she starts having an affair with his son's wife. The son walks in on her eating his wife's pussy. At first he's shocked, but then gets turned on and they become a threesome. But the son and his wife get killed in a car accident. Now very wealthy (she inherited her husband's money, and was the beneficiary of wills of the son and his wife as well) she goes to Paris, the sex capital of the world to find new romance. She finds it immediately with a wealthy, very beautiful woman who is as much into carpet munching as she it. The woman also is having a passionate affair with her FATHER. The wealthy heiress is not really into sex with men, but her new girlfriend convinces her that her father is a great lover, so they become a threesome, too. Anyway, ALL of these books were incredibly graphic. My uncle died quite a long time ago. I always wondered what became of his collection of pornographic paperback books.

I love porn stories. Nifty was my life line to gay life in the dial-up times. Gradually it was replaced by real life and porn vids. I didn't read Nifty for a long time but I returned there year or two ago. Sexual enjoyment coming from reading porn stories is in some ways bigger than from videos since your own imagination makes it all more personal. It's absolutely lovely to spend hours reading good stories from a tablet on a couch, and having a slow wank all the time.
I've spent most of my time at Gayauthors lately but Nifty is obviously still the gold standard. It's nice to return to some classics I read already almost 20 years ago. (Jesus that makes me weep.)
BTW, talking about the not so pleasant stuff: because Nifty is so well categorized it's easy to avoid what you don't like. Elsewhere, without good tagging, it's pretty easy to stumble upon stuff with way too young characters. Some time ago, at some small site from a link from Bestofnifty, I started reading a rather well written story with dozens of long chapters thinking I found something nice. Until the main character, some college dude, happened upon a 10 year old kid and almost fainted out of lust. I'm not into that kind of stuff at all so it was surreal to suddenly realize what I was reading. I don't approve of that kind of porn at all but at the same time I realize they are only words. Still, I hate to think someone sees I've even opened that kind of story.

Now, it's all for free on the blogs, and no rent gets paid.

One of the stories I used to wank to when younger. Revisited it week ago, with a wank of course.
A guy notices he can see into his estranged older brother's room through a mirror in the air vent and ends up installing a hidden camera there to spy on him and his new friend. Obviously completely outrageous but absolutely hot.

I agree OP but I have been reading and masturbating to all types of erotica, smut, and written porn for decades. Bisexual, gay, and hetero, and also fetish/BDSM erotica.
Thanks R30, I found the stories all archived.

This thread reminds of one I read and liked in high school, "Control and Kaos." It's a gay story, but it's in a universe where gay and bi is totally quotidian. It was pretty hot, too, from what I recall.
