Jennifer Jason Leigh Files for Divorce...
...from Noah Baumbach. %0D\

They have an infant child. What''s the problem? Anyone know?

- They''re str8 - and str8 people can''t seem to stay married.
Wish I Could Get Married :(
- She probably got around to seeing "Margot at the Wedding." \
\
I wouldn''t forgive him either...
- Fuck off r1.
- He''s an asshole
Armond White
- And she''s crazy.%0D\
%0D\
You''d think it would be a marriage made in heaven.
- That''s surprising. They were together for a while, at least five years or more. It looked like JJL finally found a good mate in NB. Then again, it wouldn''t surprise me if what kept them together was trying to have a kid. It couldn''t have been easy for her to get pregnant. She''s at least 45.
- Go back to iVillage, R3.
Not R 1
- I still can''t believe that for an actress of her caliber, Jennifer has no Oscar nomination, while both Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Tilly snagged one each.
- [quote]And she''s crazy.\
\
Actually, what I heard from a friend of mine who is an actor and who worked with JJL is that she''s very shy and vulnerable. This was ten years ago when she dated a guy who was a bit of a pompous jerk.
- Having a baby will fuck up the strongest relationships. They''re little crying crapping machines.
- Something tells me they''re both tiresome people. JJL is a very mannered actress - she has a similar kind of "marbles in her mouth" speech that Mary Louise Parker indulges in. I''m sure he''s very full of himself, like so many acclaimed indie directors.
- He probably got around to seeing "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle."%0D\
%0D\
I wouldn''t forgive her either...
- Umm...because she''s batshit crazy?
- He''s a pain in the ass...and no not the good the kind.
- I think we have a winner at R10.%0D\
%0D\
Also, and this is just my opinion, a woman who waits until she is in her 40s to have a baby probably never really wanted a baby in the first place. I''ve seen my share of women who have that last chance baby panic and impulsively have a baby when they previously were not that interested.
- I was unlucky enough to attend a press screening of Margot at the Wedding and got to see the couple in person. He seemed like a real smug idiot, even worse than the Greenberg character he created, and Jennifer seemed like one of these doting wives who''ll take any crap a guy throws at them. I found their chemistry very off, and wondered why she was with him.
anon
- WOW at R16--so the scene in "Margot" where Ciar%C3%A1n Hinds brutally humiliates Nicole Kidman''s character at the library reading is truer to life than we expected!
- "Best Little Girl in the World" I hope she eats for the infant''s sake.
- I''m sure even her filing was quirky and mannered.
- Jesus, his name is Noah Baumbach. Isn''t that enough?
- I don''t understand why is everyone so hard on her? So you don''t like her acting. Fine. But, batshit crazy? Where did that come from? I never heard any bad stories about her. She seems to be a very low key person.

- She''s a hardcore Republican.
- She''s no Phoebe Cates, that''s for damn sure.
- She was great in Greenberg
- Well she probably really liked him after the success of Squid and the Whale. Then just kinda liked him after the bomb of Margot at the Wedding. And then decided to call it quits after Greenburg. It''s every actresses dream to hook up with a cool director. But when the director''s star starts to dull, the actress bails. Just ask Kate Winslet.
- Margot at the Wedding was great. Kidman is delightfully bitchy.
- Was The Anniversary Party about their relationship?
- R27, you dolt, The Anniversary Party came out way before JJL met/married NB.
- JJL is a hardcore Republican? You are joking right?
- JJL is not a hardcore Repub. Please.
- r28, but it seems to be the exact story of their relationship.
- I haven''t forgiven Baumbach for almost derailing Wes Anderson''s career.
- She''s gotten really fat and dowdy, for one thing.
- She should marry Bridget Fonda.
- I always thought she pinged big time.
- Considering Baumbach''s movies all explore the lives of emotionally dysfunctional people and their ruined relationships, one shouldn''t consider it particularly surprising.

\
Dowdy maybe, but she''s not fat. \
\
She looks like she could be Isabelle Huppert''s younger sister:

- I really liked her in The Love Letter.%0D\
%0D\
Of course I drooled over Campbell Scott.
- Is their kid normal?
- I've worked with her and she IS batshit crazy. She has friends who are actors who love her so I'm sure she's nice to them so I gues it's all about insecurities but nevertheless, she is not nice to others.
- Batshit crazy like what? Give us examples.
- I think R25 hit the nail on the head. This is something actresses do. Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz now JJL.
And I don't think she ever recovered from Steven Spielberg killing her father.
- Batshit crazy as in sullen, unsociable and unable to commit to anything. In a collaborative art like acting, this can be very trying.
- You bitches don't know anything. He was fucking Greta Gerwig, right after Jennifer had the baby. He's a douchebag who humiliated her. Also, she's a lovely person, just painfully shy - shyness comes across as bitchy, but that's not her intent.
- Can't commit like cancels appointments or what?
- Steven Spielberg killed her father?
- Was good in Last Exit to Brooklyn, a very depressing movie. Maybe she lost her head when Vic Morrow died?
- Spielberg decapitated her dad with a helicopter.
- OMG, another thread from two years ago bumped up? For what possible purpose? So R39 can ask if their child is abnormal? WTF?
- Not Steven Spielberg, John Landis was the director on the set of the Twilight Zone movie where her father, actor Vic Morrow was killed in a helicopter explosion scene gone wrong. I think Spielberg was one of the producers and got sued.
- John Landis. Not Spielberg.
- The current threads are boring as hell. I searched for ones that were even slightly interesting and they happen to be not from today. What's your fucking problem? Start an interesting thread, if you're so against anyone posting to still active threads in the database which happen to not be from this week. Suck it, Cheryl.
- lol, R49!
- .
- There have got to be more insulting things we can say about the people mentioned in this thread.
- Ick. Now she's stuck alone with a kid.
- He did an adaption of The Corrections that is apparently not going to get aired.
- He looks like a Jewish Griffin Dunne.
- R1 thru r57 ARE CORRECT!
- She's a terrible actress. Didn't anyone see In The Cut? Holy fuck that was bad!
- Jennifer was good in Margot at the Wedding.
- I think her best performance was Miami Blues.
- The self-proclaimed "Method Acting Troll" is all over this thread. (Troll-dar R39 and watch it light up.) You're a bore, darling. What's your real beef with JJL?
- I love Jennifer Jason Leigh. No beef with her at all. Just curious about her. Loved Mrs. Parker, Georgia, The Anniversary Party, etc. Tought she wass crap on stage in Proof and Abigail's Party. Loved her Last Exit To Brooklyn, Rush, even Existenz, etc. why don't you provide some actual content instead of stalking posters? Or do you just have nothing to contribute, r63? Are you one of those people whom the world is better off without?
- bump
- I thought Baumbach and JJL broke up because he left her for Mumblecore star Greta Gerwig, who was the female lead in Greenberg.
- [quote]But when the director's star starts to dull, the actress bails. Just ask Kate Winslet.
Ahem...
