which one is your favorite? Mine is Jason Takes Manhattan. Great to see AMC running those movies this week.
Part VII The New Blood, also known as the one with all the gay guys in it.
the AMC Halloween horror movies are my favorites! I look forward to it
One and two.%0D\
I like these movies because everyone has natural and real bodies, and I was the same age as the characters/actors when these movies were made. %0D\
They''re classic and innocent in a way.
These are a great series of movies.
part 2 - simply because it is the scariest out of all of them. \
amy steele - the heroine - was actually really good and down to earth. she reminded me of a babysitter I had back in the 70s.
In part 2, the guy in the wheelchair was hot.%0D\
(I believe his name was Tom Mcbride, and died of AIDS some time ago).
R7, I totally remember him. He was seriously hot. Too bad he was stuck in that wheelchair.
Part 3 is my fave.\
The groovy opening theme song, the fact that it was made in 3D. I also like the films where Jason was just a man, not some half-chewed up zombie.\
The guy in Part 3 who got his eyeballs crushed out of his skull was pretty hot. Also, isn''t that Phylicia Rashad playing a biker chick?\
Part 4 is noteowthy cause we get to see Lawrence (Last American Virgin) Monoson''s cute ass.
You should watch the epic documentary on the legacy of the Jason movies called HIS NAME WAS JASON.\
The same filmmakers did an even better one about A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET called NEVER SLEEP AGAIN.
They sure don''t make movies like this anymore.
that''s not how it goes, r12. It''s ki-ki-ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma-ma
Jason Does Dallas
You know what''s strange... I have seen almost all of the Halloween movies, but I''ve never seen a Friday the 13th movie. Not even the original.
These movies are garbage. Sex negative relics from the dawn of neoconservativism.
My favorite is Part 2 closely followed by Part 1. Part 3 was just cheaply done with the 3D aspect and bad acting. Part 4 was pretty decent with it''s gory kills. Part 5 was the beginning of the end - SPOILER ALERT - Jason wasn''t even the killer in that one!\
Everything after that was a "supernatural" Jason - whether he was revived by lightning or stalking kids in outer space. And then there was "Jason Takes Manhattan" which basically took place on a stupid little boat for the whole movie.\
The remake that came out last year just didn''t have any of the tension or scares that the originals had which was a shame.
I could never get into the dead teenager genre. All the characters reminded me of the kids I spent my high school years trying to avoid.
The MPAA was really cracking down on gore towards the middle of the series so the later ones were almost bloodless! Manhattan was practically a PG movie. Dreadful. I wish they had saved some of the gore footage they had to cut, especially the kill in number two where the couple get double impaled on the bed.
The original was the best because you didn''t know who was doing the killings or why. The sequels are asinine gorefests.

Wasn''t that the one helmed by a porn director?
Those were great movies, love watching them again, brings back so many memories of youth.
Friday The 13th Part 7 The New Blood would have been AMAZING gory. But they cut nearly all of it out. The clips are out there of the original footage if you google. AMAZING. The one with the guy getting his head crushed to the size of a walnut by Jason''s bare hands is fucking amazing.
Why is it amazing? The special effects are really good?
oops I meant AMAZINGLY good.\
Yes, # 24, the special effects were great. The footage is very low quality though. Carl Buechler (I think is his name) is the director and he wants to release the unedited version. Let me see if I can get a link for you. And its none of that fake CGI crap either.
Doesn''t AMC cut them to shreds?
no pun intended!
Here are the unedited workprint scenes-\
The sleeping bag, head crushing, and ax in the face scenes are particularly DELICIOUS!
Any fan should watch the epic documentary about Jason''s legacy called HIS NAME WAS JASON.
Are they on this yr?
Got to meet Betsey Palmer a few times. Once at the Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market and she said she was doing regional theater upstate and was driving and her car and it died and the next day the offer came in and she needed a car and took the role. She has since made more money from Horror Conventions because the budget was so low she only got the car out of it.
I also saw a video online where Betsey attended a horror Convention and they had a panel of all the Jason's and her. She had developed a whole backstory for her character. Someone asked her about the other Jasons and she refused to acknowledge them. She said her son Jason drowned and had no idea who these other guys were, and she's actually right.
Did anyone order the new Crystal Lake Memories documentary that just came out?
Tom McBride, the dude who dies in the wheelchair in the 2nd movie, naked:
Friday the 13th, Part 3 in 3D is my all time favorite. I saw it during it's original release and to this day, in the current age of 3D madness, I consider it one of the best 3D films I've ever seen. When the guy gets his head crushed, and the eye popped out, I kid you not, it seemed like it was coming right at you.
I love the female pothead. She was hilarious and no one wanted her to die. "Haar-ryyy-AHHHH! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! Plus, Dana Kimbal descent into madness at the end of the film was just classic Friday the 13th.
I think the first Halloween is better than the first Friday the 13th, but the Friday sequels were way more fun than the Halloween movies.
Surely some of you kaweens remember the young and hot Kevin Bacon in a well-stuffed speedo in part 1?
R39, he ended up coming out after the movie was released.
Paul from Friday the 13th 2 later showed up on Queer as Folk as Justin's homophobic dad.
R42 he was on Days of Our Lives a few years ago in a recurring role too
Which brings me to my next point how many F13 actors also did soaps?
By the way Halloween is my favorite horror movie, but the F13 series is by far my favorite horror film series.

Other than Kevin Bacon:
DAYS' Renee Jones was in part VI, as was ATWT's Michael Swan.
DAYS and OLTL's Kevin Spirtas was in part VII
Y&R's Peter Barton was in The Final Chapter
DOOL and Y&R's Dana Kimmel was in part III
AW's Russel Todd and Ryan's Hope's Lauren-Marie Taylor were in part II
I love the first one. They all look and act like real people, as was mentioned above, and it sets a great mood. Just the post-credits scene of the counselor walking through the quiet town, the reaction of the town folk to where she's going.
And an special bonus for the night scenes really being filmed in inky blackness and not with a blue light where you can see everything. There's a scene where Adrian is running and she just gets smaller and smaller on the screen in the darkness.
Plus, Kevin Bacon and Bing Crosby's son in Speedos.
Like other people already mentioned, Part 2 is the scariest. So that's my favorite. And I agree about Amy Steel. She embodied a wholesome earthiness that certain girls just had at the time (I also had a babysitter who totally reminded me of her). She was great in it given the fact that it was a horror exploitation movie.
The scene that always scares the hell out of me is near the end, when Paul and Ginny are investigating the cabin. The lights won't go on and she just says softly at first "Paul, there's someone in this room." Then as Jason rises from the darkness "PAUL THERE'S SOMEONE IN THIS ROOM!"
Aside from Bacon part 1 also had Betsy Palmer who was on As The World Turns and Knots Landing
Heroine Adrienne King was on Another World, All My Children and The Edge of Night
The late Laurie Bartram (Brenda) was on Another World and All My Children
In part 2 aside from Todd, Taylor and Furey
Steve Dash (Jason) played a football coach on Guiding Light in the early '80s, where he worked wit part 1 alum Bacon
Amy Steel (Ginny) was on Guiding Light and All My Children (where she played Cliff Warner's younger sister Peggy)
From The Final Chapter the twins also played twins on Days of our Lives for about 3 years from 85-88, their character names were Grace and Gillian Forrester
The one twin was even a recast for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on General Hospital in the early 90s.
R44, I thought Russell Todd was gorgeous in Part II, but I just watched Crystal Lake Memories, and boy did he age poorly. He looks like someone's doofy dad now.
Nevermind, I wasn't talking about Russell Todd. I meant Bill Randolph.
Russell Todd still looks good.
Jason Takes Manhattan is also my favorite. While most FT13 movies are just plain bad, this one at least falls into the so-bad-it's-good category.
I love the hillarious scene where Jason is about to kill this naked chick in a bathroom and she reaches for a towel to cover herself instead of trying to run away.
Stacy from LOVING was in part 2.
[quote]Jason Takes Manhattan is also my favorite
It's not my favorite, but it does contain my favorite FT13th Jason theme
